A war that was won

Aquila, as much as she wanted to stay inside the Great Hall, didn't. She stood right outside the entrance of the main building, on the bridge that connected the main island to the rest of the land. She twirled the two pieces of the Elder Wand. She threw one of them across, letting it fall down into the abyss. She did the same with the other, breathing the air of victory. "Hey," she heard an oh-so familiar voice say.

"Hey Albus," she said, without turning around, as Albus walked until he was beside her. "Um-" he stuttered, a bright pink shade settling on his cheeks. "Don't worry, I remember," Aquila said, "I promised to kiss you longer once this was all over. Before Albus could react, Aquila grabbed his collar and smashed her lips against his. Albus gasped at the softness. It was heavenly, he may as well have been on the clouds. His heart fluttered against the chest. He was new to this and tried his best to copy Aquila's movements. She was the first to break the kiss. She giggled at him, "Wow! You really are new to this."

Albus's face flushed with embarrassment. "Don't worry," Aquila assured him, "We'll have lots of kisses. That way you'll be a pro in no time." Albus didn't know how to respond so he simply nodded. Aquila looked at her fingers and hastily pulled out a ring from her middle finger. It had a red tint and a pink gem in the middle. True Gryffindor fashion. Aquila held out the ring to Albus.

"Be my boyfriend," she said, slipping the ring onto Albus's ring finger. Shyly, Albus nodded and Aquila giggled at his antiques.

SEVEN YEARS LATER...

Delphini sighed as she plopped down a seat. She had a very heavy, baby pink gown with crystalline details, tailored from the best wizard tailor in all of Britain. Next to her sat a very tired Potter who had just managed to shake off the press from his back. 'Chosen One' and 'Golden boy' and 'The Boy Who Lived,' they would yell and hurry after him.

"The press?" Delphini asked. "Yeah!" Harry chuckled, smoothing out his pants. "You're more famous than the groom!" Delphini joked, "Can't believe my sister is getting married to a Potter. Who would've thought?'

"Right?" Harry agreed, "If you told me ten years ago that my child would marry a Riddle, I would have sent you to St. Mungos."

They laughed for a bit before quieting down. "Do you think he's really gone," Delphini asked, still not used to the freedom. She often had nightmares that she was ruling the world, torturing everyone in her path. "Hey," Harry spoke softly, taking the younger's hand in his own, "He's gone, I assure you. He won't come back."

Delphini smiled softly, tilting her head up and closing her eyes. She was assured now, so was Harry. His scar had not hurt in seven years. All was well. A war that was lost was finally won. And Aquila would go down in history as 'The Girl Who Defied', with those emerald eyes that the world knew of, that reminded them of their previous saviour. All was well.
