Note
I would recommend reading the first one in the series before reading this so it makes more sense but it could be read alone. I hope you enjoy!

Draco was currently sitting in his kitchen with Blaise, Ron, Hermione, and Pansy waiting for Harry to return home.

Once Draco and Harry started dating Blaise and Pansy started coming around more along with Ron and Hermione. It took them a while to come to terms with Draco and Harry dating but surprisingly Pansy and Blaise adjusted faster than Ron and Hermione. In the end, Pansy and Hermione started dating and Ron and Blaise as well, soon after.

They had planned a triple date seeing as they never get time for any dates or time to hang out together anymore, now that they all have kids. So they were scattered in the kitchen waiting for Harry who should have arrived a few minutes ago but it is not uncommon for him to be late.

When Draco heard the woosh of the floo he excused himself and walked down the hall towards their living room, "Harry darli-" the words died in his throat as he stared at two aurors in his living room. His brows scrunched in confusion before taking in their solemn faces.

"Mr. Potter, I'm so sor-"

"No,” Draco shouted. His breath hitching, this can't be happening.

He promised.

"No." He said again weakly, eyes tearing up.

"I'm so sorry. Auror Potter was hit with a curse during battle today and died on the scene," a sob tore from his throat, "we…"

He could see the man's mouth still moving but all he heard was ringing in his ears. He felt a hand grip his arm and his gaze snapped to Pansy's saddened face, "he's lying." Draco mumbled, "he has to be lying."

Pansy simply shook her head eyes shining.

Draco ripped his arm from hers, "it's a prank, he's gonna come home. He's gonna come home." His hands went to his head gripping his hair tightly as he paced, "you're lying!" He turned to the fireplace wanting to yell and scream at the aurors until he told him it was a joke but was surprised when they were no longer there.

"I have to go, he's lying, I know he is. He promised." Draco made an attempt at the floo powder but a hand shot out and stopped him before he could, "let go of me. He's fine, he's coming home!" He tried to tug his arm away but this time the grabber was stronger.

His breathing became erratic, his cheeks were wet, and his vision blurred, he could only see the outline of the dark figure in front of him, "please." He weakly begged.

Blaise's hand tightened and he shook his head, "he's not coming home."

“But he has to, we have kids, wh-what about Teddy and Lily, we need him. I need him!”

Draco stumbled backward unable to see clearly his vision was blurred by the tears. He stumbled until his back hit something hard, and he let his body crumble to the ground. His knees pressed to his chest and his head bowed, his fingers gripping tightly at his hair, "Noooooo!" He screamed, ending with another sob, "no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no." He repeated, between cries.

"He promised me! He PROMISED me!"

Draco screamed and cried, he felt like his heart was ripped from his chest. How was he supposed to live when his heart was gone?
