The Copper family was in the middle of cleaning up after their dinner, a simple meal of roast and potatoes, Ben had been asked to practice his piano lesson with his Nana while his parents picked up and cleaned the kitchen. A perfectly normal, no nonsense night.
Until the doorbell rang. His mother went and opened the door to see a tall woman, her dark hair pulled back in a severe bun with a deep green dress on.
“Is this the Copper residence?”
“Yes it is, I'm Marie Copper.” Ben's Mum greeted, holding out her hand. “I apologize, I didn't know we were expecting someone.”
“Yes, I actually am here to talk with Benjamin.” Ben overhearing this entire conversation, froze. “My name is Minerva McGonagall, may I come in?”
“Oh, yes. Are you from his school?” Marie asked as she shut the door and followed Minerva as she rounded the corner where Ben and she met eyes.
“In a way.” She pulled a letter from the sleeve of her dress, and held it out toward Ben. “You just had your eleventh birthday, yes?”
“Ju-july seventeenth,” Ben nodded.
“I'm here to congratulate you, Mr. Copper, as you have a place waiting for you at the Hogwarts, the school of Witchcraft and Wizardry-”
The room nearly erupted. His Nana yelled, his father entered and his mother looked pale. Ben, with shaking hands, opened the letter and pulled out the pieces of parchment while the adults began to discuss what exactly this McGonagall meant.

Ben, promptly threw up. All over the carpet. Minerva pulled a stick out of her dress, and with a flick, the vomit was gone. So was Nana, as she passed out on the couch. Ben ran to the bathroom and vomited up all the dinner he had just ate while he listened to his parents discuss what the letter actually held with Miss McGonagall.
This is wrong, it's just all wrong, this can't be... I can't do that stuff! Ben thought to himself. Then he remembered the ghost he had seen a few times in the attic, the one he could see and no one else could. Once he had emptied his stomach he feebly opened the letter again, and read the other page.
