Chapter 1
JAMES WAS THE FIRST TO WAKE UP.
The last thing he remembered was sitting in the common room when he found himself feeling tired. Which was odd since it was so early in the morning, and a Saturday. But as he whipped his head in every glance of the room, he realized this was not the Gryffindor Common room.
"Bloody Hell," Remus groaned, lifting his head.
"Language, Mr. Lupin."
James hadn't noticed Minnie in the room. Then, surely, he watched as every single person in the room awakened, and he and Sirius tackled their parents in a hug. Even Euphemia had suffocated Remus and Peter with their hugs until she realized where she was.
"What have they done now, Albus?" Fleamont questioned, looking exhausted. Despite his parents having him at an older age than usual, they looked positively jovial. More than usual.
"It wasn't me that summoned you all here,"
Minnie picked up a note. "No, it was not. Someone intended for us to be here," she noted as she read the note.
"What does it say, Professor McGonagall?" Lily Evans - well, soon to be Evans-Potter if James had anything to do with it.
"We have gathered you all here today to prevent what is to happen in the future. It is grave and terrible, and reading these books will prevent many horrible things, which you will soon read about to happen. As you are kept in this room to read these books, time will be slowed down and if you wish to leave, drink the potion put on the stand. It will enforce you to forget about anything in this room. But for the sake of the future, stay and read. Sincerely, C.E.P, F.R.P, H.J.P, A.S.B."
"Well..." Marlene drawled out, sitting back on the couch. "Let's read... what the-"
Regulus Black perked up, sharing a curious glance with his brother. Ever since he had run away from 12 Grimmauld Place, his relationship with his brother improved drastically. They were both able to see each other from their perspective and why they distanced in the first place, and Regulus couldn't be even more glad.
He couldn't see himself lasting long without his brother.
"Oh, James," Regulus cackled with Marlene once the name of the book sunk in, "This book is about your spawn,"
The Potter toppled over from his chair in shock, Remus catching him by his robe before he fell. Euphemia and Fleamont looked elated, knowing they would-be grandparents. While Lily seemed to be crossing her fingers she wasn't the mother. There was no way, she convinced herself.
But from the way Peter was nudging her with a grin, maybe there was.
"Let's get to reading, then." Professor McGonagall insisted, a small smile on her face. Though, Sirius knew, she was terrified of the idea of teaching James' spawn.
GODRICS HOLLOW,
The Potters were always a chaotic bunch.
"What an understatement," Remus grinned.
Fleamont shrugged, "we have undoubtedly gotten worse with these two with us," he nudged his head at Regulus and Sirius.
They only laughed in return. Black's and Potter's were a destructive bunch together.
So when Lily Evans-Potter and James Potter attempted to calm their kids in-sync screaming, it was a pain for it to work.
"YES!" James screamed, jumping from his seat.
"Potter?" Lily questioned, her face glowing as red as her hair.
Both Sirius and Regulus passed Remus a pouch of galleons.
"Wait," Minerva paused, "Kids? As in plural? May Merlin help us all."
Lily squeaked. "Multiple kids," she muttered.
Marlene, Sirius, Dorcas, Peter, Remus, and Regulus were already placing bets on names.
Marlene and Sirius vote if a girl, Euphemia, and for a boy, Charles.
While Peter said Fleamont for boy and Violet for a girl.
And Regulus and Remus also agreed on Violet, but for a boy, Harry considered it was James' grandfather's name.
Twins, Clementine and Fleamont, and their older brother Harry only got along when it was time to give their parents an ear bleed. The twins were absolute menaces, despite being little infants who couldn't even crawl yet.
"What comes around goes around," Euphemia sang, a cheerful smile on her face. Sending James a pointed look. From the moment that boy was in diapers, she had always had to chase him around. She always knew the favor would be passed down to him for his children.
Marlene and Sirius almost wept as they passed Peter, Regulus, and Remus some galleons since they had been right about Harry and Fleamont's names. But Clementine had been unexpected to them all.
Except for Lily. She explained with a wide smile, "My father's name is Clement."
But their relationship with their brother was a source of entertainment to their father.
"Of course, it is," Peter agreed. "James has no life,"
The said Potter gasped at his friend's teasing, while Remus cackled, quickly agreeing with Peter.
"Quidditch is his life," Regulus stated.
"That's funny coming from you!"
The Slytherin could only shrug with a sly grin. Neither denying nor confirming the statement.
Oftentimes, Harry didn't like the idea of sharing his parents' attention with the twins, so he would claw their little faces, forgetting both of the infants were already teething, receiving him double the bites.
"Merlin," Mary laughed, "the twins are already causing trouble!"
"Good luck, Minnie," James smirked.
Lily had always blamed their sense of trouble on her husband. It was painfully obvious they had inherited it from them. And their looks. Harry and the twins already had their father's jet-black, unruly hair, which could never be tamed. While only Harry and Monty had Lily's emerald eyes and some of her features. While as Clementine grew, everyone knew that girl would be her father's carbon copy.
James widely smiled, a giddy feeling blooming in his chest. He already loved his children, despite having met them. He loved his future life. With his wife and kids, he couldn't ask for more. He and Lily shared a look, a look of bliss on their faces.
Atlas Black was also a carbon copy of his father, Sirius Black.
Minnie looked close to fainting.
"Me? A father?" Sirius stammered while James and Regulus were patting him on the back.
Euphemia looked close to fainting out of happiness. Three grandchildren, she thought.
"Congrats, Padfoot," Remus grinned.
He was only a few months older than the twins but was equally a handful. The baby boy had pearl grey eyes and curly black hair, and a cackle he had inherited from his father. He was mostly at the Potter's house, enjoying the twin's presence more than anyone else.
"Just like his father,"
And today was no difference, except that Lily, James, Sirius, and their two best mates Peter and Remus would go out for dinner out in the muggle world, declaring that they all needed to get together, despite the brewing war going on.
Many shared glances. It seemed as if this war wasn't going away.
And Regulus Black, Sirius' brother, would watch the kids.
Regulus scoffed, "So I am the resignated baby-sitter?"
"Seems like it, mate," Marlene consoled him.
So as Lily and James left their kids in Regulus' hands, they didn't know they would come back with their house partly destroyed, Regulus stunned - but still alive. Harry with a scar on his forehead, and the twins missing.
"What the fuck?"
