Chapter 3
Sirius POV
Classes have officially started.
Sirius learned that he, James, Peter, Remus, and Lily all have first-period English together. Naturally, James wanted to sit next to Lily and Pete sat next to Mary, the girl he fancied, so that left him and Remus sitting together, not that he was complaining. He smelled good, like nature and chocolate. He had Science with James, French with Pete, and math with Remus.
It's now the third day of classes, James, Pete, and he were waiting outside of the English classroom for Professor McGonagall like every other morning. Soon she showed up, unlocked the doors, and opened them but quickly stopped in her tracks as she was walking in. Curious as to why Sirius moved forward through the crowd closely followed by James.
He was surprised to look into the classroom and see it covered in pink sticky notes. From floor to ceiling not a thing was missed. The desks and chairs were covered, the windows, all the walls, and even the pencils on McGonigal's desks.
It was impressive. He wished he thought of it.
Who did think of it? James wouldn't do it without telling Sirius and Pete didn't have the brains to come up with it. They were supposed to pull the pranks here no one else.
He looked up at James with a questioning look only to find the expression mirrored on James’ face. He looked around at his classmates to see if anyone looked guilty. For the most part, people were laughing or whispering except Remus and Lily. Lily looked outraged at the vandalism to the classroom and Remus continued to look emotionless. Not even a hint of a smile or anything.
He should find it weird but at this point, he was used to it. Remus never showed emotion unless it came to Lily, he ignored the whispers and rumors that went around the school, most about his scars and where they came from, others about how attractive he was and who wanted to shag him (The whole school population at this point).
He couldn't blame them. He agreed, Remus Lupin was hot. The mysterious aura he carried around him didn't help, it made him more intriguing. He almost became a puzzle that every student was trying to figure out. He didn't seem to be muscley but it was hard to tell with the baggy sweaters he wore, he was tall and lanky standing out in any crowd because of his height. His structure didn't really matter though when he had that face attached to it. He was hot, and those freckles made him cute. Most attractive people were either hot like him who had high cheekbones and charming smiles or cute like Lily with dimples and natural blush. Not Remus.
No.
He had to defy the odds and be both. He was hot when he was broody, usually all the time, but when he smiled he was cute. The smile always lit up his face, almost making him look like a different person, it added dimples to his cheeks and made his nose scrunch a little, and the freckles on his nose seemed to pop out more. It made him want to kiss him. Then again he always wanted to kiss him.
Which sucked.
He was supposed to have the best year of his life but instead, he was pining over his new roommate who barely said three words to him and is already being out pranked. This can't stand.
“Mr. Black, Mr. Potter, and Mr. Petegrew, it is only the third day of classes and you have already started your shenanigans.” Professor McGonagall's words broke him out of his thoughts.
“Professor, Minnie, darling” He flashed his best simile as she rolled his eyes, “We would love to take credit for this but unfortunately we cannot. It is quite brilliant though if I do say so myself.”
He watched McGonagall take a deep breath and release it slowly, “Seeing as I have no proof either way I can’t give anyone detention.” She turned back to the class, “If everyone would follow me we would be using one of the empty classrooms for today's lessons” She turned and started walking the class following her.
“Really, Potter!” Surprised at the voice he turned to see Lily glaring daggers at them, Remus standing next to her with as blank a face as ever, “Already starting shit! You couldn't have waited till after the first week?”
James smiled at her, which made her glare intensify if that was even possible, “Lily my love, you know I would never lie to you, we did not do this. We have our pranks planned to start next week.” That earned a punch to the arm from Sirius.
Seemingly not believing them but giving up Lily turned on her heel following the rest of the class Remus not far behind.
“Did you guys do this without me?” It was Peter who spoke.
James lifted his hand and patted him on the back, “Of course, not wormtail. In all honesty, I have no idea who did this but it seems we have some competition this year.”
Sirius groaned, “This year was supposed to be our year!”
James wrapped his arm around his shoulders pulling him a little so they could start walking and join the rest of the class, “It still can be, we just have to up our game.”
Bloody hell.
