Draco Malfoy did not want to be friends with Hermione Granger.

Yes, it was true-  over the years she had endured a lot of things. But  now that the war was over, she wanted to put an end to that past. Maybe that was the reason why Hermione Granger was the first one to extend the hand of friendship to her former nemesis, Draco Malfoy.
