For some backstory, you and Newt Scamander have been friends for about 3 years, and obviously you love him. Newt flirts with you sometimes, although you’re not sure if he knows what he’s doing. In fact, you’re not sure that he even knows he flirts with you. It’s complicated.
You and Newt practically spend all day, every day, together. You were kind of his assistant in a way. You were together right now, you were both sitting next to each other, of course, Jacob and Tina were there as well.
“Of course not!” Tina laughed.
“Well I mean if you’re going to arrest people then at least make sure you have proof.” Jacob responded. To be completely honest, you had no idea what they were talking about.
“I don’t arrest people just “because they look like they should be arrested”!” She quoted. You couldn’t focus on them, you were focused on how close you and Newt were. Shoulder to shoulder practically.
The booth you sat in was small. You could feel your body heat up as you thought about it. Until someone caught your attention.
“I have to pee!” Tina said, motioning for you to follow her. You immediately understood.
“Yup, me too.” You got up out of the booth and walked with Tina to the bathroom. As you both entered, she whipped around to face you.
“What is it?” You asked.
“Your face!” She yelled. You made an offended look. “No! I mean you’re red as a strawberry!” You ran to the mirror. “What happened?” She said.
You sighed, “did you see how close me and Newt were?”
She groaned, “you have to tell him at some point!” Your eyes grew.
”Tina! He doesn’t love me!” You told her.
“You don’t know that!”
”yes I do! Whenever I flirt he becomes uncomfortable and whenever I try to do anything he just doesn’t respond.” You yelled. Tina looked at you, unamused. “What?” You said.
”I’ll prove it to you, right now, that he loves you.” She said. As she stormed out of the bathroom, you followed right behind her. You both sat back down at the table, not breaking eye contact. The boys looked confused, but to break the silence, Tina started talking.
”Jacob, how’s your relationship with Queenie?”
“it’s…good. Yeah, we’re good.” He said awkwardly.
“Newt, are you in a relationship with anyone?” She asked. You were doomed.
”uh..no, not currently.”
”What about her?” She pointed to you. It was as if time stopped. You felt horrified.
“Oh…no, we’re not together.” Oh god please make it stop.
”Do you like her?” TINA PLEASE
Newt hesitated for a moment, “Uh…no.” Your heart fell so far you thought you died. You looked at Tina, you looked back at you with a guilty look. You stood up from your chair, fighting back your tears, you could feel eyes digging at your skin. You looked at Tina again, and then your eyes traveled to Newts. He looked at you with the kind of look that would make someone cry on the spot, and that’s exactly what you did. You walked back to your car, it was raining outside, it was cold and windy and all you felt was agony. Your thoughts filled your mind.
‘dammit Tina, why’d you have to do that? Three years. THREE YEARS. All to waste because you wanted to experiment.’ In a way, you felt grateful that she did it, you probably would’ve never known, but in a different way, you were so scared and angry and sad.
you felt the rain on your shoulders and scalp, you felt the splash of puddles on your pants and boots, you could smell the rain in the air breathing it in. You couldn’t tell if you were crying at this point. You had almost taken out your wand until a hand hit your shoulder.

At the table
Newt and Jacob gave Tina a questionable look, Tina looked angry.
”Why the bloody hell did you say no?!” Tina yelled.
“I don’t know! I panicked, you didn’t warn me that you were going to ask that!” Newt yelled.
”Newt! Go get her!” Tina yelled, Newt stood up and ran outside of the restaurant. “Wait!” He yelled to you.
His hand reached your shoulder.

Newt's hand was strong on your shoulder, you stopped, and he got in front of you.
“Please, just wait. Let me explain!”
“Newt!” You looked at him “You,” you pushed him a bit, “are,” again, “so,” again, “stupid!” Again. “I mean how can you not see it? I’m in love with you Newt! I’ve been in love with you ever since you told me your name! It's so obvious! Even Jacob knows! Dammit, Newt I love everything about you, your hair, your eyes, your love for creatures, all of it! If I could name the best thing about humanity, I would just describe, you.” You shouted. you clapped your hands over your mouth.
It was quiet for a moment. Both his hands were on your shoulders now. You felt secure. You brought your eyes up to his. His hands traveled to your cheeks. The rain had subsided by now, and your tears made themselves apparent. His thumbs softly wiped them away.
“Say something!” You stuttered. He said nothing, all he did was continue to stare into your eyes. He brought one of his hands through your hair, massaging your scalp, it made you melt under his hands. You both just stood there. You felt your heart rate slow, and the bliss of the moment came to light.
“Newt?” a second went by, as it should.
“Yes?” He was quiet, you almost didn’t hear him.
“will you say something?”
“I don’t think anything that I say can compare to that.” He let out an airy laugh.
“I just need an answer.” You said. He brought both of his hands to your face again.
”will this work?” He brought his lips to yours. It was heavenly. The soft feeling of his lips on yours and the warm hands on your face, that was now traveling to your waist. You kissed him deeply.
when you pulled away, you had to catch your breath. When you got to your senses, you kissed him again, his hands wrapped around your waist. You wanted to stay there forever, in his arms. You stopped kissing when you heard gasps behind you, turning around, you were faced with Tina and Jacob, mouths open.
you were the only one to react, Newt was too busy spreading kisses around the back of your neck, giving you butterflies.
After a while of explaining, you and Newt went to your place.
when you walked inside, Newt was obsessed with kissing you, anywhere and everywhere, and you loved it.
“Are you hungry?” You asked, “I can cook something.”
“Can I help you?” He asked. You didn’t answer but instead got out pots and pans.
“Spaghetti?” You asked, he nodded. As you cooked, Newt was right there beside you. He grabbed whatever you needed and always gave you a kiss whenever he passed behind you. “Why are you kissing me so much,” you asked, grinning.
“because I’ve waited three years for this.” He replied. He brought his hands up to your shoulders and started digging into them. Your tense shoulders were relaxed with the contact. You stirred the pasta as you felt your whole body relax, you could’ve sworn he enchanted you.
“God, your magic.” You said. He smiled.
”You’re so beautiful.” You turned around to face him and you kissed him hard. He lifted you onto the counter, keeping his hands on your thighs. You had to admit, you were a little turned on. You wrapped your arms around his neck as you made out. When you pulled away, you felt dizzy. You hopped off the counter and continued cooking.
