Chapter 3

It took a full hour to get everyone sorted, and by that time Jeannette had developed a killer migraine and her hand was throbbing after some Hogwarts dolt accidentally slammed the bus's door on it. "Damn those British doofuses," she hissed, making her way to the last bus in order to check on the conditions of the animals sequestered in there. Her mood plummeted when she saw that Mikala, the girl who was supposed to be on board, was gone and the windows and doors locked tight. "Oh for the love of Prince Philip-" she started, glaring at nothing in particular. Recasting the Sonorous, she yelled at the top of her lungs, "MIKALA YVONNE LEE-HARRISON, I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU'RE DOING RIGHT NOW, GET BACK TO THE BUS YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE ON OR PRINCIPLE GYVERNSON SO HELP ME, I WILL PUNT YOU TO THE SUN," She cancelled the spell, feeling her headache get worse because of the noise. The Asian girl didn't come forward. "FOR GOD'S SAKE MIKALA IF YOU DON'T COME HERE RIGHT NOW I WILL PERSONALLY SEE TO IT THAT YOU GET THROWN OUT THE BUS THE MOMENT WE GET ON THE BRIDGE," Jeannette screamed. "I HAVE A SPLITTING HEADACHE AND YOU'RE NOT HELPING!" Still nobody came, and some of the others were starting to pour out of the other buses, calling for the missing student. At one point Matthew appeared out of thin air and disappeared back into the pass, only to come out shaking his head. She groaned. "Right, Jenny, you're taking her place. Mikala can apparate herself back to school. EVERYONE, ON BOARD!"

The moment she got on the first bus Gabbie hastily handed her a Quick-Relief potion mixed in with fizzing Blueberry water. Jeannette took it gratefully and downed it all in one go, tossing the plastic bottle aside into the trash. She sighed as the migraine ebbed away, bit by bit. Standing in the aisle and holding onto a seat, she turned to the driver. "Up and ready, Mr. Gibbson," the No-mag nodded, stepping on the gas. A quick glance told her that the other buses were following his lead. "Right, let's cast the orientation," she muttered, fishing out a remote from one of her pockets. She pressed a button and watched with a careful eye as the TV flipped down. She could only assume the others in the other buses had as well. Sitting down with a thump, she whistled loudly, getting everyone's attention. "Listen to the orientation," she told them shortly.
