I still have no certain outcome for the ending which is why there is no tags for romance or anything like that, because I’ve just started writing the book. ‘The Slytherins’ can also be found in my Wattpad @El_dabigsimp_45

Halloween

"Cheer up Mattheo! It's halloween!" Pansy said as she put on her pointed witches hat and chucked a cushion from the sofa on his head.

"I hate halloween," he said, picking the cushion up and lobbing it back at her.

"Why? It's halloween!" Pansy laughed.

"It is the ten year anniversary of his father's death day," Laurie said. "So naturally I think he'd be rather sad."

Pansy stopped laughing at the look on Mattheo's face, and sighed at Laurie.

"We talked about thinking before we speak, didn't we Laurie?" Said Draco, looking up from his armchair.

At that moment, Cassie walked down the steps from the girls dormitory. "Hey," she said, yawning. "You guys looking forward for the feast later?"

"Yes! I'm excited to watch the choir too, apparently they're really good," Pansy said.

"Theo will be happy. He'll take any chance to eat even more food then he normally does," Draco smirked, raising his voice so that Theo and Blaise, who were playing a game of chess, could hear him.

"Hey!" Theo complained. "I'm a growing man! Where do you think these come from, hey?" He stuck out his arm and tensed it.

Pansy and Cassie laughed. "What are we looking at?" Pansy asked him. "There's nothing there!"

Theo frowned. "That's not very nice,"

In charms, they were learning the levitating charm, Wingardium Leviosa. Before they could actually cast the charm, they had to write theory on the spell.

When Laurie and Mattheo were one of the first to finish their work, (aside from Cassie and Granger, who had finished within the first five minites, much to Cassie's annoyance) Laurie grinned at her, whist Mattheo smiled.

Levitating the feathers were easy, but apparently some people were having difficulties with it.

On the other side of the classroom, Granger and Weasley were having a heated argument. The weasel's face turned bright red, as he folded his arms and sneered at Hermione.

Cassie leant towards Draco who was sitting next to her and whispered, "Five galleons that they end up married,"

His expression changed as his jaw seemed to clench and unclench so quickly that Cassie thought she was imagining it, before answering her, "No way. Even the mudblood must have standards. Besides, the evil eye that they're giving each other..." he shook his head. "Not gonna happen,"

"Bet," she teased.

After charms, however, she was beginning to doubt her her decision.

"It's no wonder no one can stand her," Cassie and Draco overheard Ronald Weasley complaining loudly to his friends as they exited the classroom. "She's a nightmare, honestly!"

And when Granger knocked into Potter and she passed him not two seconds later, Cassie a caught glimpse of her face and she looked like she was in tears.

Draco laughed by her side. "They're going to end up as lovers, hey?"

She shoved him playfully. "Shut up. You never know what'll happen."

After their lessons had finished for the day, Cassie and the others collapsed onto the sofas in the common room once again.

"Hey where's Mattheo?" Asked Theo, lifting his head up from the sofa he was lying on and searching around the room.

It was busier than normal that evening, as lessons had finished earlier, and extra clubs were cancelled due to the feast.

"I don't know," Blaise shrugged. "He slipped away after Transfiguration and didn't say where he was going,"

Cassie got up from her chair, and began to walk away, but she bumped into a moving object, and felt a cold substance drop down her robes.

She turned to see who had spilt it on her, to find a second year carrying a potion. The girl looked fearfully up at her, and Cassie's gaze softened. "Is that a blemish blitzer? I recommend keeping that in a fridge, it works better,"

The girl frowned. "You've used it?"

"Two years of a dose at breakfast and Supper just to get rid of some acne... how do you think I have such perfect skin?"

The girl glanced down at Cassie's cloak, which was now stained with the potion. "I'm really sorry about spilling this-"

"Just don't let it happen again," Cassie warned her.

When the girl has scurried off, she turned towards her friends and huffed out in annoyance.

She glared at Theo as he began to laugh."I'm sorry, did I just catch you being nice to someone?"

She shrugged. "It was an accident. If she was from another house I would have hexed her, but I've had my own difficulties with that potion," she rolled her eyes.

"Well that statement is obvious..." he glanced at Cassie's cloak again.

She sneered at him. "I'm going to clean this up and try to find Mattheo,"

She exited the common room, delicately trying not to touch anything as she climbed through the entrance hole.

She walked towards the girl's bathroom at the end of the long corridor, and entered.

The girl's bathroom was painted a dark grey, with marble flooring and wooden cubicles. Cassie walked over to the sink, took of her cloak, and began to scrub the sticky parts under the warm tap water.

She heard someone sniff from inside one of the cubicles, and turned to see if anyone was there, but the door was still shut.

She'd been in there five minutes haven not managed to scrub off the potion along side the constant sniffing, and eventually called out, "Are you ok?"

She waited a few moments for a reply, and when none came, she went back to her washing.

When the girl sniffed again, Cassie sighed, and called out once more a little more aggressively, "Crying about your problems isn't going to solve them. If you're unhappy, do something about it," and then she looked down at her robes, decided that they would have to do, sighed and walked out of the bathroom.

Her cloak was still damp, but she'd given up with it and went to find Mattheo. After five minutes of searching the castle, she found herself climbing up the ladder to the Astronomy tower.

Mattheo was stood by the railings at the edge of the tower, and for a minute Cassie thought he was about to jump,as both his hands were resting on the top railing, but when he remained in his position for a a few minutes, she had deemed him not suicidal.

She wanted to say something to him, to ask why he wasn't at the feast like the rest of the school, but he was gazing so intently and peacefully down at the view below him, that she couldn't bring herself to disturb him, so she instead climbed back down the ladder to rejoin the feast.

She was unsure if Mattheo had even known she was there, but as he had not said anything, neither had she.

"What did I miss?" Cassie whispered to Blaise as she sat in between him and Laurie.

"Nothing yet," he grumbled. "The old dimwit's still going on about something, only I think we all stopped listening ten minutes ago."

"Did you find Mattheo?" Pansy asked her.

She hesitated. "No, I didn't."

"Why are your robes wet?" Laurie asked, removing his hand from the bench they were sitting on, where her robes were beginning to dampen the wood.

Theo looked down and immediately his face broke into a wide grin and he sniggered quietly.

"Apparently the blemish blitzer likes to stick to things," she rolled her eyes.

"So how long do you reckon it is until the feast-" Theo began rubbing his stomach, when all of a sudden Professor Quirrell came sprinting into the hall, his turban askew and terror on his face. Everyone stared as he reached Professor Dumbledore's chair, slumped against the table and gasped, "Troll-in the dungeons-thought you ought to know."

He then collapsed to the floor; he'd fainted.

There was uproar. Everyone was freaking out, students were screaming and shouting like they were scared for their life.

Cassie remained calm, though her heart was pounding in her chest. A troll? In the dungeons? She had been in there not twenty minutes ago, and she had certainly not seen any sign of a troll near by.

In the midst of all hell breaking loose, Cassie glanced back to where Quirrell had fainted on the ground, only to find him not there. She scanned the front part of the hall to find him slipping out of the door on her left, before being swiftly followed by Snape who had a suspicious look on his face.

Her train of thought was broken swiftly by someone commanding, "Silence!"

Everyone looked towards Professor Dumbledore who was standing up.

"Prefects," he rumbled, "lead your houses back to the dormitories immediately!"

The Slytherin table gave each other uncertain looks, and started whispering. "Do you think he knows that our house is in the dungeons?" Laurie whispered.

"I don't think it's likely he's forgotten," hissed Draco, reading Cassie's thoughts.
