Chapter 2

Percy's heart sank as he took the magazine from Lucy's hands and read the headline. The words pierced through him like a dagger, reopening wounds he thought had healed long ago. The cover featured a sensationalized image of their family, with large letters proclaiming, "Percy Weasley: The Forgotten Traitor and the Legacy of Audrey Weasley."

His hands trembled as he flipped through the pages, each one filled with distorted accounts and malicious insinuations about his past and the tragic loss of his exwife, Audrey. It delved into Audrey's death, twisting the truth and placing blame on Percy for her untimely demise.

Molly and Lucy watched their father's anguish, their hearts breaking for him. They had always known that their family history was complicated, but seeing it plastered across the pages of a magazine intensified the pain. They exchanged worried glances, not sure of how to comfort their father in this moment.

Percy took a deep, the chaos of emotions raging inside him. He looked at his daughters, his eyes filled with a mix of sadness and determination.

"We cannot let these lies define us," Percy said, his voice steady but laced with a hint of vulnerability. "Yes, I made mistakes in the past, and we have suffered great losses, but we are stronger than the words written here.”

Molly nodded, her eyes shining with resilience. "You're right, Dad. We know the truth, and that's what matters. We won't let these accusations tear us apart. We'll face this together."

Lucy's voice trembled slightly as she spoke, but her resolve was unwavering. "We'll stand up for ourselves, for Mom's memory, and for our family's honor. We won't let this magazine define who we are."

Percy's face softened with gratitude as he looked at his daughters. Despite the pain they were all feeling, they were standing strong together, ready to face the challenges ahead.

"You both make me proud," Percy said, his voice filled with love and admiration. "We will confront this situation with dignity and truth. And remember, no matter what anyone say and we will rise above this."

They knew that the road ahead wouldn't be easy, but they were determined to protect their family's legacy and honor Audrey's memory.

As they sat down to breakfast, their bond as a family felt stronger than ever. They shared stories, laughter, and hope, finding solace in each other's presence. Together, holding onto the truth that resided within their hearts and emerging stronger on the other side.

The road ahead would be challenging, but with love, support, and unwavering resilience, the Weasley family would face this trial head-on, reaffirming their unity and proving that their strength transcended the pages of a magazine.

Molly and Lucy exchanged determined glances as they finished their breakfast. They knew that confronting the source of the lies and distortions was a necessary step in reclaiming their family's truth and protecting their father's reputation. With steely resolve, they made their way to the office of Rita Skeeter, the journalist responsible for the article.

As they entered the bustling newsroom, Molly and Lucy spotted Rita Skeeter huddled over her desk, typing away on her laptop. They approached her, their expressions a mix of anger and determination.

"Ms. Skeeter," Molly said firmly, her voice carrying a hint of controlled anger. "We need to talk."

Rita Skeeter looked up, a smirk playing on her lips. "Ah, the Weasley girls. Come to protest my latest masterpiece, I presume?"

Lucy's fists clenched at her sides, her anger boiling over. "This isn't journalism, it's character assassination. How dare you twist the truth and tarnish our family's name?"

Rita Skeeter leaned back in her chair, seemingly unfazed by their anger. "Well, my dears, journalism is about selling stories, and your family's history is quite the tale. People eat this stuff up."

Molly's voice was sharp as she spoke. "You may have the power to write the stories, but we have the power to set the record straight. We demand a retraction and an apology for the lies you've spread about our father and our family."

Rita Skeeter chuckled, a cold and mocking sound. "Apologies aren't really my style, dear. And as for retractions, well, that's not going to happen. I stand by my reporting."

Lucy's patience snapped. In a sudden burst of anger, she lashed out, her hand connecting with Rita Skeeter's cheek in a resounding slap. The room fell silent as Rita Skeeter recoiled, her expression a mix of shock and outrage.

"You will not defame our family any longer!" Lucy's voice trembled with a mix of anger and determination. "You will learn that there are consequences for spreading lies and destroying lives."

Molly stepped forward, her voice firm but controlled. "We will not let this go. We will gather evidence, expose your unethical practices, and fight for justice. Our family deserves better than your tabloid garbage."

Rita Skeeter, nursing her cheek, glared at them with venom in her eyes. "You think you can take me down? You're just a couple of girls from a famous family. For them you are nothing because they hate Percy."

Molly's eyes blazed with defiance. "We may be Weasley, but we don’t fucking care, I’m not a part of that family, we only share a last name, we are so much more than just a name. We are fighters, and we will fight for the truth. You will not destroy us."

With that, Molly and Lucy turned and walked out of the newsroom, leaving Rita Skeeter seething in their wake. As they walked side by side, Molly and Lucy knew that they had each other's backs and that together, they were unstoppable.

”Molly, my last year at hogwarts, it's going to be fun“
