Dream
Dream didn't know how to feel about Birthdays. Back at home, his mother would throw him and his siblings huge parties. However only pureblooded acquaintances of his parents were invited.
Of course Sapnap would come, his family part of the ancient five, just like Dream's. They've been best friends since they were babies because of that. Shared the same views, interests and even wishes. They were like two peas in a pod, knowing each other's deepest and darkest secrets.
However he wanted George, his other best friend, to be there as well. But unfortunately George was a halfblood, so his parents wasn't fond of their friendship, which Dream thinks is stupid. George is the most wonderful, amazing and prettiest boy he knows. People call him a simp, but the fact still stands.
Skeppy, a roommate of George's was also part of one of the families in the ancient five. Dream thinks he's a funny dude. He hangs out with Dream and Sapnap during the ancient 5 family meetings, and George was pretty fond of him.
"Dream darling! Would you rather your cake have a snake design or a golden snitch one?" His mother asked him from the sofa where she was sitting down in front of his hired birthday planner.
"Golden snitch mother." Dream answered her immediately.
"Alright, you heard my love. Make sure it is exactly measured 50cm to..." Dream blanked out for the rest of the conversation. He'd honestly rather have his birthday in Hogwarts. Unfortunately his birthday was before the 1st of September, during the summer holidays.
"And make sure it doesn't taste too sweet. Goodness knows how much my husband would throw a fit." His mother finished talking the planner's ear off. Dream felt bad for the older woman. But then again Madame Esse was a professional at throwing pureblooded parties. She planned Dream's birthday since he was a baby, along with his siblings, Sapnap's and Skeppy's, even Schlatt's and Minx's.
"Clay dear, you may go upstairs to rest now. You'll have to get up bright and early tomorrow."
"Yes mother." Dream replied in relief. He passed by the house elves that were running up and down to prepare for his party, while going to his room.
"Finished preparations with mother kiddo?" His 2nd brother greeted him with a grin as Dream reached the top of the stairs. Noah Wastaken, also known as Noah Brown or Foolish gamers. He had just graduated Hogwarts and debuted as a famous quidditch player. However he was removed from the wastaken heir line due to being sorted in Hufflepuff. However his mother had appeased their father, grandparents and other relatives, so Foolish had been allowed back onto the house. However he changed his last name to Brown and adapted the name Foolish gamers, using the nickname he got in Hogwarts, as his name while being professional quidditch player.
To be honest, Dream looked up to Foolish. Probably not as much as how much he looks up to his eldest brother, but Foolish was certainly admirable as well. In fact Dream would've thought it would be weird and unbelievable if Foolish didn't get into Hufflepuff. Unlike the rest of his family, Foolish was very good-natured, always cracking up the weirdest jokes Dream had ever heard. But Dream had to admit, Foolish gives the best advice.
"All I did was choose the type of cake, which was an obvious choice between a snitch or a snake. The rest of the 2 hours was just me sitting down doing nothing while mother gave her preferences to Madame Esse." Dream sighed. Foolish ruffled his hair and said "At least you don't get the snake ey? XD and I had snake cakes every year until we reached graduation age even when I got in Hufflepuff and XD graduated early."
"True." Dream nodded, thinking back at all of his brother's birthday parties. "Mom turned more lenient after you two."
"I'd say she was more lenient on me than XD. He was born 9 years before me so he must have had it the worst." Foolish commented. "He's been doing well as headmaster though."
Dream nodded quickly. "Very. The older slytherins say he is one of the best headmasters despite being the youngest to become one at the age of 26.
"The Hufflepuffs said that too. Had to fight an urge to boast that he was my brother." Foolish grinned. "Though they ended up knowing anyways after finding out XD's last name and reading the newspaper on him by Skeeter."
"When is he coming back by the way?"
"Says he's returning tonight. Father said he needed to check the final preparations in Hogwarts." Foolish replied. "And you should go and rest, mother will most likely wake you up very early for the party preparations."
"Right." Dream muttered tiredly at the thought of the party.
________
Dream stood next to Foolish as he greeted the guests. He had to wear some stuffy black suit that his mom insisted he wear.
"Stop fidgeting with your collar, mother will complain about the mess." Their eldest brother approached. He was out of his headmaster clothes, but still wore formal robes instead of a suit. People always told Dream that he was a spitting image of his eldest brother, except XD let his hair long, and Dream is growing into a much muscular figure like Foolish.
"It's uncomfortable. Why can't I use the same thing as you brother?" Dream complained.
"We used to wear worse." XD rolled his eyes at his childish brother. "You should have seen the ruffles."
Foolish nodded his head in agreement. "Thank goodness they got rid of that."
"Well next generation I hope they upgrade again." Dream muttered.
"The Ruwen family is coming, smile." XD chided. The three brothers quickly changed their expressions, and greeted the family of redheads.
"Man are they talkative." Dream said after they were gone.
"I won't disagree with that." XD shrugged.
"They're a lot pleasant than others, though they do talk too much sometimes." Foolish commented.
"Well here comes the opposite of that family." XD warned as a family of raven-heads approached.
"How long do we have to do this again?" Dream sighed as they left.
"Until mother says so, or the manor blows up." XD replied.
"Speaking of which, mom is gesturing for you. This might be your exit ticket, or she wants to introduce you to more people." Foolish said. Dream sighed and went to where his mother was standing.
"Clay dear, this is Lord Donaldson from America, he has two sons, but unfortunately they are currently held up in Florida with their mother." His mother introduced the American wizard.
Dream greeted all the guests his mother introduced politely, wondering when Sapnap or Skeppy was going to come. He saw Minx and Alex with their respective families.
"Sykunno! Why haven't you grown." His mother smiled welcomingly at the other boy who just arrived. Sykunno was Dream's childhood friend and they used to be rather close, but he hasn't seen the other boy in years. He had grown very good looking Dream had to admit, and many guests seem to be staring at Sykunno thinking the same, but Dream didn't feel any romantic attraction to the boy.
"Hello lady Wastaken, it's wonderful to see you again." Sykunno replied politely.
"And you my dear. How are your parents?"
"They're dealing with a problem at St Mungo's at the moment, they send their apologies for their absence." The other boy replied.
"Of course, they must be very busy, why don't you catch up with Clay over here. It's been 3 years hasn't it? I'll be over there greeting the rest of the guests. I'm sure you both would love to talk." His mother winked at the both of them, before gracefully walking away.
"Sorry about that. Mother's been trying to match me the year's started." Dream apologized.
"No problem." Sykunno smiled. "My parents are likewise. They think you and me would be the couple of the century or something."
"No offense but I'd prefer to refuse any marriage invitations."
"Me too." Sykunno agreed. "I'd rather make my own choices.
"Yeah. It's kind of hard when your parents are trying to match you up with people you don't even know or love. It's like we can't choose for ourselves." George's smiling face came up in Dream's mind.
"You like someone else don't you?" Sykunno grinned knowingly as he observes Dream's face.
Dream blushed. "No! He's just a friend!"
"I didn't say anyone's name." Sykunno laughed. "Who is it? Sapnap?"
"No ew!" Dream scrunched his nose.
"Hmm guess not, who is it? Schlatt?"
"That's disgusting!" Dream's face turned ugly at the question. "And I'm not telling, he's just a friend too!"
"Right." Sykunno rolled his eyes, looking as if he didn't believe the other boy.
"What about you? Do you like anyone from your school?" Dream tried to change the subject.
Sykunno turned red. "No!"
"Doesn't look like it. Who is it?" Dream laughed.
"He's- well Someone my parents wouldn't agree with." Sykunno sighed sadly.
Dream nodded. He could relate with that. Could he? Why could he relate to that? Because of George? But he's Dream's best friend, not lover. Sure George was the most prettiest being he knows and the funniest as well, but Dream didn't love him, did he? It was all too confusing for him.
The thoughts continued to run in his mind until his mother called for him to come and cut the cake. He shook his head, deciding he shouldn't think much of it for now.
