Ummmm....
It is now October 30th. Two months of my Sixth Year was over. It went by fast. I always say this. That it's gone by fast. But it's true. Is does go by fast. And I was enjoying every minute of it.
School was good. I was doing well in all of my classes. Defense was by far. My best. We were still learning about Vampires. I found it very interesting. Kilgore still looked at me at times. When he wasn't speaking to the class. Still freaked me out. But. I just tried to ignore it.
Currently. I'm sitting against a tree. In the part of the Forest I was bit. I know. It brings back awful memories. But. It was nice here. I couldn't explain it. But. I liked it here. I came here sometimes. To relax. And get away from everything. It felt like I was in a whole other world. And I love it.
I was also here. Because something was bothering me. And I didn't know what it was. I know it made me a little bit depressed. I just didn't know what it was.
A snap of a branch. Made me snap out of my thoughts. I jumped up. Wand in front of me. Then. A black dog came bounding out of the trees. Right towards me. I rolled my eyes. Sighed. And put down my wand. The dog stopped in front of me. And stood up on his back legs. His two front legs went around my shoulder. I rolled my eyes again. Wrapping my arms around his shoulder. At that point. Remus came walking in from the trees. He shook his head at the sight of Sirius and I.
"Ok. That's it. Turn back." I told the dog. Letting go of him. Sirius took his paws off me. And as he went on the ground. He transformed back into the black-haired boy. He smiled at me. "You really need to stop following my scent. It makes you more of a dog. Than you usually are. And not to mention. It's creepy."
"Don't care." Sirius smiled. I rolled my eyes.
"I tried to get him to shift back before we got here, but he didn't and just ran forward." Remus said. Shoving Sirius. Who shoved him back.
I smiled at them. "You know Siri never listens."
"Siri?" Sirius asked.
"My nickname for you. Sirius. Siri. Give me credit. Your name is hard to make a nickname out of." I explained.
"Alright. I give you credit. You know, you can call me Padfoot." Sirius said.
I shook my head. "Nah. That's just for you boys. It feels weird for me to say it."
"Ok. What about the rest of us? For nicknames." Sirius asked.
"Well. Siri for you. Rem for Remus. James is J. Lily is Lils. Marlene is Mar. Mary is Mare. Dorcas is Cas. And Peter is Pete." I explained.
"I like it."
"What are you doing here?" Rem asked.
I shrugged. "Just sitting. Thinking. This place oddly calms me down. I don't know why. It's weird. I should be scared of this place. But I'm not. I like it here." I explained. Looking around at the scene. The trees. The grass. The pond. The boulder.
"That is very weird. What did you do to make it lighter in here?" Sirius asked.
"I put some blue fire in jars. Put them around the place. And then disguised them to make it look like they aren't there. Simple enough." I shrugged.
"I can't do that."
"Well I can."
Sirius shook his head. "I like it though. It's really pretty."
I smiled. "Thank you." I paused. "What are you boys doing here?"
"We haven't seen you in awhile. We just wanted to make sure you were ok." Rem answered.
"I am. Truly. I am. For now at least. Every now and again. My anti-socialness comes out. And it wants to be away from people. So. I usually spend the time in the Forest. Now. I spend it here." I motioned to where I was. I looked back. And saw Remus open his mouth. I cut him off. Before he could say anything. "No. I don't mind you two here. I actually was thinking that I wish somebody was here with me. My anti-social self is gone. I'm glad you guys are here."
Remus nodded his head. "Alright, just making sure."
I opened my mouth to say something. But. Before I could. There was a bright light. Coming from across the little clearing. So bright. That I had to shield my eyes. I did. However. Take some steps forward. Holding my wand out in front of me. Just in case anything happened. After the light had gone away. I blinked a couple of time. Trying to get the spots out. To clear out of my vision. When they were gone. I looked in front of me. I blinked again. And did a double take. I looked at the spot where the light was. I thought I was seeing something. But. The more I looked. The more I knew they were there. Remus and Sirius. Adult. Remus and Sirius.
I walked forward. "What are you two doing here? How are you two here?" I asked. Stopping right in front of them. I put my hand out. To touch adult Sirius's shoulder. It went right through. I looked up at the two men. Both men looked at me. Joy on their faces.
"It's a Potion/Spell. It brings you to where ever a person is. Though we're not really here. We're in Dumbledore's office. But he can't see or hear us. We had to make sure you were alright." Remus answered.
I looked at him. "Why wouldn't I be alright?"
"You've been gone for over a year. Don't you remember?" Sirius asked.
"Of course." I answered. I couldn't believe it. They were actually here. They weren't physically here. But they were here. And I was glad they were. Then. I remembered. Teenage Remus and Sirius are here. That might be a problem. So. I put a hand behind my back. And waved it at the teenage boys. Waving for them to go away.
"Why does this place look familiar?" Remus asked.
"Oh. Um. This is. Um. The place I was. Um. Bit." I answered. Still waving my hand behind me. I didn't know if the other thems had left or not.
He looked at me. One eyebrow raised. "And you're here... why?"
I shrugged. "I don't know. It's nice here. I know have an awful memory here. But. This place sorta kinda calms me. It's weird."
"It is very weird." Sirius agreed.
I looked at them. "It's good to see you two. Great even." I frowned. "I missed you two." I whispered.
"And we missed you too." Remus answered.
"Yeah. We did." Sirius agreed. "What happened?"
I paused. Still waving my hand. Just in case.
"You know. I don't know what you're doing." I heard teenage Sirius call out. I thought they had left already. I was wrong.
I slowly turned around. Looking at the two teenagers. Sirius was leaning on a tree. Smirking. Remus was beside him. Hand on Sirius's arm. I think he was trying to pull Sirius away.
"You know. When someone is waving their hand behind their back. It usually means for whoever's behind them. To go away. I thought that was obvious." I explained. Sirius just continued smirking. I turned to Remus. "Did you even try to get him away?"
"I did. He wouldn't leave."
"Try harder next time." I glared slightly at him.
"I didn't want to leave anyway." Sirius spoke. I rolled my eyes at him.
"Uh, Aspen?" I turned to Remus. He was pointing behind me.
I turned around. Shit. I forgot about adult Remus and Sirius. "Shit." I mumbled. I turned to the teen version.
"Can you two leave now?" I asked.
"I wanna stay." Sirius folded his arms. Still smirking.
"Sirius Orion Black. Get the fuck out of here. Now." I folded my arms.
"Nope." He just kept grinning. He was being stubborn.
I sighed. Dropping my arms. I looked at Remus. "Remus."
He nodded. "Ok. I got this." He turned to Sirius. "Let's go buddy." He motioned to where they had just came from.
"No."
"Fine. You wanna play that way. Fine. I'm gonna do what I have to." And with that. He picked Sirius up and put him over his shoulders. With Sirius yelling the whole time.
"What the fuck, Moony? Put me down!"
Remus turned to me. Rolling his eyes. He then shifted his eyes behind me. He opened his mouth. Closed it. Opened it again. Closed it again. "Yeah." Was all he said. And walked back the way him and Sirius came from. Sirius still yelling.
I watched them go. A smile on my face. Then I remembered the two men behind me. I turned to face them. They were both watching the two teens walk away.
"So?" I said. They looked at me. "Story time?"
"Oh, yeah." Sirius said.
"Right." I paused. Trying to figure out how best to explain this. "Right. So. I guess I should start with what happened on September 1st. I'm assuming that you know about the fight with the Death Eaters?" They nodded. "Ok. Good. Well. One of the Death Eaters shot a spell my way. I tried to do something. But. It was too late. It hit me. I had no senses. All I saw and heard and felt and all those things like that. Was the smoke and fire thing around me. Once it was gone. I was standing in the same place as I was before. Just. No one was there. At first. When I did noticed that I was not alone. It was Dumbledore and McGonagall. They asked who I was. Which was weird. Then. They asked what year it was. Long story short. I Time Traveled to the year 1975. The year you two were in Fifth Year." I stopped. Looking at the two men. They were both silent. Just looking at me.
"What?" Sirius asked.
"I traveled to 1975. And it is now 1976." I replied.
"How?" Sirius asked.
"The spell I was hit with. Was a Time Traveling Spell. It's kinda a hard concept to explain. But. It sends you either back or forward in time. And the only way to get back to your own time. Is to do it on the exact day and time. And not to mention the number of the year has to match. As to when you left." I explained. Both men had a confused look on their faces. I sighed. "I was sent to 1975. On September 1st. To get back. I would have to be hit with the spell on September 1st 1976. Cuz I was sent here from 1996. Does that make it easier to understand?"
"Kind of." Remus said.
"Wait. If you had to go back on September 1st, 1976, why are you still here?" Sirius asked.
I paused. I took a deep breath. "Because I chose to stay."
"You chose to stay?" Remus asked. I nodded.
"Why?" Sirius asked.
"I don't know. I loved it here. I didn't feel like going back. I thought about what was happening. Or what was gonna happen. In my time. And. I don't know. I wanted to stay. I know. That times here are not that much better then in 1996. Or '97 as it is now. I just wanted to stay." I paused. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I stayed. I must have you guys worried."
"We were." Sirius said. "You've been gone for over a year. Of course everyone is worried."
I put my head down. I felt bad. I should have gone back. But I stayed. I stayed. And maybe I shouldn't have.
"How have you been doing?" Remus asked.
I looked up. "Alright. It was hard at first. Not letting people know who I actually was. But. In time. It got easier. It's still hard. Some days are harder than others. But I try. It's been better. Now that some people know." I finished. Looking at the place teenage Sirius and Remus left.
"They know?" Sirius asked.
I nodded. "Yeah. They do."
"Do only they know?" Remus asked. I knew what he was asking.
"No. Um. Well. I told them." I pointed to the woods. "First. But. Uh. Sorta. James and Lily know as well. But. I think they knew before I told them. They both kinda told me they knew. So. Yeah."
"How much do they know?" Sirius asked.
"Oh. Well. Um. You two and James know almost the full story. They know my actual last name. Lily knows the Time Travel bit. And that I'm. Ya know. I'm not saying it out loud. But. She doesn't know it's James."
"Really?"
"Really. And they all took it surprisingly well. James was the most normal response. Apparently he knew longer than the others. I did not think he could do that." I admitted. I shook my head.
Before either man could answer. There was a loud crash. Coming from the Forest. Where teenage Remus and Sirius where. What are they up to?
I sighed. Looking at the two men. "I'll be right back." And then I walked into the Forest. Trying to find the two teenagers.
It didn't take long. They were only about twenty feet in. Up against a tree. Snogging. Sirius with his back on the tree. Remus pressed very close to Sirius. I rolled my eyes. It hasn't even been five minutes.
"Seriously? It hasn't even been five minutes. It's been like three! And you already have your tongues down each other's throats?" I said. The two boy pulled away from each other.
"We got bored." Sirius smirked. I rolled my eyes. And sighed.
"What are you doing here anyway?" Remus asked.
"I heard a crash. I came to see what it was. I thought you two were hurt." I explained.
"Oh. That was...um... that was sorta Moony pushing me against this tree and I may have tripped over a rock, which made it collide with another rock." Sirius explained.
I raised an eyebrow. "I think I heard the rock. Still. Control yourselves."
"Can't always do that." Remus replied. I just looked at him.
"So? What's happening over there?" Sirius asked. Nodding to the clearing.
"Nothing much. I was explaining how I got here and stuff." Sirius smirked. I knew why. "You're not going back."
"Why not?"
"Because it would be too weird. And it will make me uncomfortable."
"So? I think it will be fun." Sirius grinned.
I sighed. What harm could it do? "Fine. You can come back. But. When I tell you to leave. Leave. Deal?"
Sirius was grinning now. "Deal."
I rolled my eyes. Then looked at Remus. "Make sure he behaves."
"Oh, I will. Don't worry." Remus replied. Getting off of Sirius.
Sirius skipped over to me. Yes. Skipped. He was a child.
I sighed. And walked back to the other Remus and Sirius. They widened their eyes as they saw us approach.
"You know, I am still very good looking when I'm older. Same can be said for Remus too." Sirius whispered in my ear.
I stopped walking. Looked at teenage Sirius. And slapped hit head. He glared at me. I smirked. And continued walking.
"So. They're going to join us. Because this mother fucker." I pointed to Sirius. "Is being annoying. And would probably come back anyway." I explained to the adult Remus and Sirius. This was not going to be confusing. At all.
"Hey! I am not annoying." Teen Sirius said.
"Yes. Yes you are."
"Sometimes." Teenage Remus added.
Teenage Sirius looked at us. With his mouth open. I just smirked.
"Just to let you know." I paused. Glaring at Teen Sirius. "If you keep annoying me. I might punch you. In your pretty pretty face."
Teen Sirius glared at me. But then. He smirked. "So you think I'm pretty?"
I closed my eyes. Sighing. "Shut up." I could practically feel his smirk.
"You didn't answer though. You think I'm pretty?" I could hear the smirk. I also felt his arm around my shoulders.
I opened my eyes. And looked at Adult Sirius. "Would you judge me? If I murdered him?" I asked. Jerking my head at the teen version of Sirius.
"Probably." Adult Sirius replied. A smile. Playing on lips.
"I'm not that bad, Aspen." Teen Sirius said. Squeezing my shoulders.
I turned to look at him. "If you don't get your arm off me. I'm going to elbow you in the ribs."
"You wouldn't." Sirius told me. But I could see a little bit of fear.
I smiled sweetly at him. But then. I did elbow him. Not hard. But enough to make him fall to the ground. He groaned. And held his side. I looked over at Adult Sirius. Who was switching his gaze. From me. To Teen Sirius.
"Sorry." I paused. "But not really." Adult Sirius nodded to me.
"Hey! In pain here!" Teen Sirius exclaimed.
I looked down at him. I rolled my eyes. "I didn't even hit you that hard. I could have done a lot worse." Teen Remus laughed.
Teen Sirius glared at him. "Are you just going to laugh at me?"
"Sorry, I'm just enjoying the show. This is too much fun." Teen Remus answered. Teen Sirius glared at him some more. Teen Remus sighed. "Fine, come on." He then walked around me. And held out a hand. For Teen Sirius to take. Which he did. And then Teen Remus pulled him up. Then moved back to where he was before.
Teen Sirius brushed himself off. And then glared at me. "You didn't have to do that, you know. I could've got hurt."
I rolled my eyes. "Like I said before. I could've done worse. I didn't even hit you that hard. Stop being a Drama Queen for once."
And then I turned to the adults. "What were you two going to say? Before I went to these two." I asked.
"Um. Yeah." Sirius said. Taking his attention away from younger him. A small smirk on face. "I get that you were hit with a Time Travel Spell, but I'm still confused on the concept." I looked at him. I knew that's not what he wanted to ask. But. Maybe because the teen one's were here. He didn't ask.
"Like I said before. The concept it too confusing. Even to me. Not to mention. Very long. To put it short though. There was this Dark Witch. Who invented this spell. That sends you either forward or back in time. In my case. Back in time. The spell is called 'Tempus tua.' It is a very rare spell that has only been used four times. Since it was made. In the Thirteenth century." I explained.
"Your Thoughts Time?" Adult Sirius asked.
"What?" Adult Remus asked.
"'Your Thoughts Time.' That's what 'Tempus tua' translates to. It's Latin." Adult Sirius explained.
"I still can't believe that you speak Latin." I commented.
"I also know French." Teen Sirius said. Ok. I can't keep referring to them as 'Adult' and Teen.' I think I'll call the Adults by their names. And the Teens by their nicknames.
"Yeah. It's pretty common for Pure-blooded families to teach their children multiple languages. Also. You're family is literally French, Siri." I said. They all looked at me. "What? I like looking up. And reading about Pure-blooded families. Especially the Scared Twenty-Eight. It's not a crime."
"It's still weird that you know a lot of stuff, that not even us Pure-bloods know." Siri said.
"Well. Maybe if you picked up a book every now and then." I said. Siri glared at me.
"Siri?" Sirius asked.
I turned to him. "Yeah. I mean. In my brain. I keep referring to you four. By adding either Adult or Teen before the name. And. I don't like that. I still get confused. So. You two." I motioned to the Adults. "Are going by your actual names. And these two." Motioning to the Teens. "Are going by their nicknames."
"Nicknames? You gave u- them nicknames?" Remus asked. I smiled at the blunder.
"Yes. He's Siri. Which they find weird. But try making a nickname out of Sirius. And he's Rem. Again. Try making a nickname out of Remus." I explained.
"You don't have to use my name. Anything can work." Siri said.
I turned to him. Oddly enough. When we got to the adults. Rem was in front of Remus. And Siri in front of Sirius. "You want me call you by your middle name? Or last name? Or do you want me to call you dog?"
"I'll stick with Siri."
"Ok then." I smirked.
"You said the spell was from the Thirteenth century?" Remus asked.
I looked at him. "Yeah. It was first used in 1212. By a witch named-"
"Regan Cole?" Remus asked.
"How did you know that?" I asked.
"You learn about her in Second Year. She was one of the reasons the International Warlock Convention of 1289 happened."
"And you remember this from Second Year?"
"Yeah." Remus shrugged.
I turned to look at Rem. "I'm going to kill you."
Rem raised his hands in defense. "In my defense, I forgot."
"Don't care. Still going to kill you." I replied.
"Yeah, Moony. Your supposed to be the smart one in our group, before Aspen came." Siri added. Grinning.
"Shut up, Padfoot." Rem glared at him.
"Never." Siri smirked.
I rolled my eyes. "Anyway. Yes. The spell was created by Regan Cole. Last time it was used. Before me. Was in 1780."
"And these two know about it too?" Sirius asked. Pointing between Rem and Siri.
"Yeah. Rem was the first to find out. Siri found out by accident." I answered.
"Accident? You were planning on tell us at some point, right?" Siri asked.
"Actually. To tell you the truth. I wasn't. Planning on telling no one. I was just supposed to stick with my story. And then go back to my time. And forget that this whole thing happened."
"Wow. Can't believe you weren't even going to tell us."
"Yeah? And that would've been a weird conversation to have. Don't you think?" I asked.
"Maybe a bit. How did you find out, Rem?" Siri asked him.
Rem rolled his eyes. "I noticed things plus I saw her name on the Map."
Remus and Sirius raised their eyes. I looked at them. "Yeah. Apparently. Even if you're not born yet. You're name still get's put on the Map. And it so happened to say 'Aspen Potter' on it. So. Yeah. That only lasted until. What? A little bit after Christmas?" I looked over at Rem.
He nodded. "Yeah, after Christmas."
"And then you ignored us for two months." Siri nudged my shoulder.
"Well. To be honest. I didn't really plan on anybody to find out. Know one was supposed to know. Except for McGonagall and Dumbledore." I explained. "Plus. It was one month. Not two."
"I thought it was two months, it certainly felt like two months."
I shook my head. "Nope. It was one month."
"You still shouldn't have ignored us." Rem added.
"Can we not talk about this now?" I asked.
Siri put his hands us in surrender. Rem just chuckled and shook his head.
"So, I guess everything is good here?" Sirius asked. Motioning between us teenagers.
"For the most part. Yeah. It's hard. Sometimes. Especially when I have to deal with him." I jerked my head at Siri. "And sometime James. But mostly Siri."
"I am not that bad!" Siri exclaimed.
"Some of the time." I said.
"Ok. Name a time I was that bad."
"When you thought you were going to die. From eating a Chocolate Frog. When you decided to go hit the Whomping Willow. Or all the times you acted like an over-dramatic Drama Queen. Need I go on?" I finished.
"I remember that." Remus said.
"I don't." Sirius said.
"That's because you got knocked unconscious for three and a half hours." Remus told him.
"Wait." Siri said. "You're saying, I could've gotten knocked unconscious by the Whomping Willow?" He turned to me. "And you stopped me?"
"Are you saying that you want to be knocked out by the Willow?" I asked. Siri shrugged. I rolled my eyes. "Another reason why you're an idiot."
"Whatever." Siri rolled his eyes. And crossing his arms. "You can't do anything about it anyway."
"I can literally beat the shit out of you." I replied.
"Maybe in animal form you can, but not as a human."
"Um. You do know. That even as a human. I still have this thing. Called 'Werewolf Strength.' Which makes me a bit stronger than most normal humans. So I can beat the shit out of you. Need I remind you of Samantha Simmons." I told him.
"Samantha Simmons? The Gryffindor who's two Year's older then us?" Sirius asked.
"Yeah. Her and I got into a little fight last Year." I replied.
"A little? You beat that girl to a bloody pulp!" Siri exclaimed.
"No I didn't." I replied.
"If I remember correctly, you broke her nose, two of her ribs, bruised her stomach, and gave her a concussion." Rem added.
"Shut up. Ok. So I got into a big fight with her. I may have even put a little. Tiny. Bit of Werewolf Strength in there." I scowled.
"A little bit?" Rem asked.
I huffed. "Fine. A lot a bit. Served her right too. Yelling at me for no God-damn fucking reason. I found out a month ago. That it was because she thought I slept with her boyfriend. Which I didn't. But she blamed me anyway. Besides. She's the one who hit me first. Us Slytherins have this saying. 'We don't start fights. We end them.' Which. I didn't start the fight. She did. I just ended it." I explained. No one talked. No one said anything.
"That's our little Slytherdor." Siri ruffled my hair.
I growled. Literally growled. Shoving him away. And messing his hair up too.
"No! Not the hair!" He exclaimed.
"Don't touch mine. I won't touch yours." I growled.
He put his hands up. "Alright. Alright."
"I hate you." I said. Rolling my eyes.
"Nah. You know you love me." Siri grinned.
"Shut up." I growled. Though. It wasn't as pronounced as it was like before.
"Nope. You see. She says she hates us, but she really loves us. Deep down. We're her Hufflepuff's her Slytherin side has to protect." Siri threw an arm over my shoulder.
I shoved him. "You boys aren't Hufflepuffs."
"Maybe not, but we are your equivalent to your Hufflepuffs." Siri shrugged.
I was silent for a second. "Shut up. I've enough of you. In fact. Go over there." I pointed to the tree he was leaning against earlier.
"Nope. I want to stay."
"You said you'd listen to me."
"Well I don't want to right now." Siri smirked.
I turned to Rem. "Take your boyfriend and go over there. Please." I smiled.
Rem shook his head. And laughed. Reaching behind me. To grab Siri. As he did. He leaned to my ear. And whispered, "You did that on purpose, didn't you?"
I looked at him. Smirking. "Have you met me? Of course, I did." I replied. Out loud.
Rem chuckled. Dragging Siri away. Whose face was bright red. I watched them as they went. The tree was far enough away. That they couldn't hear us talking. If we spoke soft enough. But. Could still hear if they wanted to.
I turned back to adult version of them. Both were just staring at me. Blank looks on their faces. Sirius was red. I smirked at that. "You guys alright?" I asked.
Sirius was the first to snap out of it. "What did you just say?"
I put on a fake. Confused look. On my face. "Um. 'You guys alright'?"
"No, what did you say to them?" He pointed to Rem and Siri.
"Oh. I said. 'Take your boyfriend and go over there. Please.'" I paused. "That's the first time I've said that. I think."
"You..." Sirius started.
I smirked. "Oh. I know. I know all about you two. Well. Not everything. Cuz somethings I don't want to know. But. Other than that. I know about you two." I lowered my voice. So that only they could here. "To be honest. I've had my suspicions since I first walked into Grimmauld Place. Hell. Now that I think about it. I noticed it when I first was you two. Together. In the Shrieking Shack. Back in my Third Year." I then talked louder. So that Rem and Siri could hear. "You two are very obvious. And everyone else is very oblivious."
"Maybe you two can get her to stop tormenting us!" Siri called out.
"I don't torment them." I told Remus and Sirius. Without turning around. I called out. "I don't torment you!"
"Oh, my mistake! I meant torture!" Siri called back.
I turned and glared at Siri. He was smirking. Remus was trying hard not to laugh. "I don't torture you!"
"Yes, you do!"
"Well! I don't call it torture!"
"Then what do you call it?"
I shrugged. "Teasing!" I turned back around.
"Fine! Then try and make her stop teasing us!" Siri called.
"I could a lot worse you know!" I called back. "I really could." I whispered.
"Fuck off!"
I rolled my eyes. And looked at Sirius. "I want to murder him almost everyday."
"You said that with such a straight face, it kind of concerns me." Sirius admitted.
I just smirked. "Can I murder him though?"
"No. Don't murder him." Sirius answered.
I sighed. "Ok. Enough with that." I lowered my voice. "How's everything back in the '90's?" I asked. Both men looked at each other. I saw the look that past between them. "What? What happened?"
"Quite a lot actually." Sirius said.
"First and foremost, Voldemort's out now. Everybody knows he's back." Remus added.
"What? How?" I asked.
"Well, I guess I should start from the beginning." Remus said. "You see, first, Dumbledore, actually, the Ministry, staffed Dolores Umbridge as the new Defense teacher. " I scoffed. And rolled my eyes. I hated that bitch. "Yeah, well, her classes, according to your brother, weren't good. They weren't allowed to use magic and only read from books. On Harry's first day, he got detention. Although her detentions were terrible, she used a Blood Quill." I widened my eyes. Blood Quills are terrible. They make you write in your own blood. They're usually only used for signing legal documents. And the bitch used it on students? Fuck her.
Then Remus went on explaining everything else that happened in Harry's Fifth Year. From Umbridge asking about me. To her setting out Educational Degrees that were terrible. To Harry starting a secret Defense Club. To them getting caught. To Dumbledore leaving the school. To Dumbitch becoming Headmistress. And to Harry's visions. And his Occlumency lessons. Yeah. Harry was apparently seeing into Voldemort's mind. He saw Mr. Weasley get attacked by Voldemort's snake. And. Voldemort found out about the connection. And proceeded to put a fake vision into Harry's mind. One of Sirius being tortured to death. And. How Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Neville, and Luna. Went to the Department of Mysteries. To try and rescue Sirius. Who obviously wasn't there. How Death Eaters showed up. They told Harry about a prophecy that was about him and Voldemort. How Harry and friends fought the Death Eaters. How the Order showed up. How Sirius almost died. By almost falling through a veil. But Remus caught him in time. How Harry ran after Bellatrix. How Voldemort showed up. How then Dumbledore showed up. Voldemort and Dumbledore fought. Then. Voldemort possessed Harry. How Harry fought him off. How then the the Minister of Magic showed up. Seeing Voldemort. And now realizing he was back. And what's been happening after. The destruction. The abductions. The deaths. Everything. All in all. Bad.
"Fuck. So it was a pretty fucked-up year then, huh?" I asked. Once the story was complete.
"Yeah, it was." Remus agreed.
"I should've gone back. I shouldn't have stayed here. I can't let Harry deal with all that shit on his own. I can't. And I stayed. I fucked up. I really fucked up." I started panicking. Breathing heavy.
"Hey, it's ok. You don't have to worry." Remus said.
"But I can't help it. I should have been there. I should have helped. I should have-" I stopped. Taking a deep breath. Trying to calm myself down. "I'm sorry."
"There's nothing to be sorry about." Sirius said. "You chose to stay here. You probably have a good enough reason for staying. It's not your fault for wanting to say. So stop worrying."
"You know I can't. Didn't me staying at your house over the Summer prove that? But. I'll try. I just can't believe another Year at Hogwarts was cursed. Every Year just keeps getting worse. And worse." I replied.
"We get that and it's going to get even worse in the coming years. War is brewing and there's no stopping that." Remus stated.
"You're right. I can't stop it. Still gonna worry. And stress over me staying here or not. But. I'll try to look on the bright side." I looked at the two men. "Did I mention how much I missed you two?"
"Yeah, you did, and we miss you too, but seems like your in good hands here." Sirius replied.
I looked behind me. At Rem and Siri. Before turning back. And smiling. "Yeah. I am in good hands." Both men smiled at me. Then. "Oh. I suddenly remembered." I looked at Remus. "You lied. When you said you never swore at my age. I've heard you swear like three times already. And. Siri said the same thing Sirius said. That you always blamed it on him and James." I smirked. Remus rolled his eyes.
Sirius chuckled. "I told you."
"Shut up, Padfoot." Remus said.
"Make me."
"I can't right now. We're not exactly solid." Remus rolled his eyes.
"Speaking of that. How long are you guys here for?" I asked.
"For as long as we can. To get back, we have to say some sort of spell, when we want to." Remus explained. I nodded my head.
"So, what's been happening while you've been here?" Sirius asked.
"Weird. I'm so used to having a least having two death experiences per Year. It's weird not to have them. It became my new normal." I paused. "But. It's fine. I like it here. It's great. Um. I don't really know what to say. Sorry."
"It's fine. I also find it concerning that you are used to death. Do you really have that much in school?" Sirius asked.
I nodded. "Oh yeah. First Year was a Troll, A Three-headed Dog, and Devil's Snare. Second Year was when the Chamber of Secrets opened. So that brought a Basilisk that Petrified people. Second Year also brought Acromantulas. Third Year. Well you two know about Third Year. And Fourth Year. So. Yeah. I'm used to death." I paused. "I think the only death experience I've had here. Is. Climbing the Whomping Willow to save Siri's arse. Other than that. It's been alright."
"Damn, that is a lot." Sirius commented.
"It is. Another thing. That I just realized. Last Halloween wasn't cursed like it normally is." I added.
"Cursed?" Remus asked.
"Yeah. Every Year. Since First. Something has happened. First Year brought the Troll. Second Year was when the Chamber opened. Third Year was when you broke in, Sirius. And Fourth Year Halloween started the Triwizard Tournament. Fifth Year. Well. I don't really remember Fifth Year Halloween. So yeah. Cursed ever since First Year." I explained. They looked at me. Just looked. Not saying anything. Weird. Why weren't they saying anything. Then. Something came to mind. Something that I came here for in the first place. The thing that made me feel depressed. That I couldn't remember earlier. It came to me now. Halloween. Was when my parents died. When they were murdered. And the day that Harry and I. Became orphans. "Oh." I whispered.
We were all silent for a couple seconds. Not talking. No one knew what to say.
"Have you gotten her to stop teasing us yet?" Siri called.
I rolled my eyes. "Never!" I turned around. And smiled at them. Motioning them over. They got up and started walking back to us.
"Oh, Aspen. I forgot to ask." Remus said. I turned around to look at him. "How are the full moons?"
"Good. Really good. Yeah. They're alright." I answered.
"Yeah, she's good. She was mean at first though." Siri said. As he came up to us.
I scoffed. "No I wasn't."
"Yes, you were. Yelled at me practically." Siri replied.
"That's because my Wolf didn't know you. I was being defensive. If any one was being mean as well. It was him." I pointed to Rem. "Practically through himself at the barrier. Trying to get to me."
Rem rolled his eyes. "Like you said. My Wolf also didn't know you."
"Barrier?" Sirius asked.
I looked at him. "Yeah. Pomfrey put it up when I first got here. So that our Wolves wouldn't hurt each other. It was only there for four months. Then it was taken down." I explained. He nodded.
"Hey, Aspen. You have nicknames for all of us, but we don't have any for you. We give you one." Siri stated.
I raised an eyebrow. "Try making one out of Aspen. Not easy. Unless you just call me 'A'."
"I kinda like 'A'. 'A' it is then." Siri replied.
"Now I have two nicknames." I said.
"Two? What's the other one?" Siri asked.
"Little Wolf." Remus answered.
I rolled my eyes. "Which is weird. Because my Wolf is bigger that yours."
"Not by much." Remus smiled.
"You come up to my shoulders." I said. Then. I pointed to Sirius. "And you come up to his shoulders." Sirius smiled.
"I like your other nickname. Is that why you chose 'Wolfe' as your last name?" Siri asked.
"Probably. That night I had a lot on my mind. I just said the first name that came to me."
"What about a last name?" Sirius asked.
"When I first came here. I couldn't go by Aspen Potter, now could I?" replied.
"I guess not."
"So. I went with 'Wolfe' as my last name. At the time. I thought it was ironic. With being a Werewolf and all."
"So, Wolfe?" Remus asked. Smiling.
I smiled back. "Yup. Besides." I nudged Rem in his side. With my elbow. "Werewolf McWerewolf over here shouldn't be the only one here with an ironic name." Rem just rolled his eyes.
"Werewolf McWerewolf?" Sirius asked. "Cool."
"You are not calling me that." Remus told him.
Sirius smiled "Too late."
I chuckled. The turned to Siri and Sirius. "You know. You're name is kinds ironic too. I mean. Sirius is a star constellation. Your last name is black. You're a black dog. That's is also ironic."
"Yes it is. Actually. When all of us were thinking about what our animal forms were, I guessed black dog for myself, because of my name. The others said I didn't choose what the form would be. I proved them wrong." Siri replied.
"You know. If you don't like 'Siri.' I could call you Star Star. Or Black Star." I turned to Rem. "I could also call you Moon Moon. Cuz 'Lupin' also means moon."
"You are not calling me Moon Moon." Rem told me. I smiled.
"You can just call me whatever. I don't care anymore." Siri said. He then looked at Rem. "Imma call you Moon Moon sometimes." He smirked.
"You do that, I will beat the shit out of you."
Siri grinned. "Alright, whatever you say, Rem." Rem glared at Siri.
I saw Sirius open his mouth to say something. But Remus beat him to it.
"No." Remus said.
"But-" Sirius started.
"No." Remus cut him off.
"Oh, come on, Moony, why not?" Sirius asked.
"No." Remus growled.
"Fine." Sirius said.
"Alright then." I replied. I turned to Remus and Sirius. "I'm guessing you two want to hear the story I made up when I first got here?"
"Naturally." Sirius nodded. Remus also nodded.
So. I told them my story. Of being home-schooled. Going to Ilvermorny. The fake life I made up for myself. And so on.
"Wow, and you came up with that, right on the spot?" Sirius asked.
I nodded. "Yeah. Basically. I'm really good at that."
"Yes you are." Siri replied. "I totally bought it when I first heard it."
"You will believe anything anyone tells you. And your a big Drama Queen about it." I told him.
"I am not." Siri exclaimed.
"Yes you are." Rem, Remus, Sirius, and I said. At the same time.
I looked over at Sirius. "You agreed to it too?"
"I've learned to accept it." He replied. I chuckled. "Especially when he," He pointed to Remus. "Tells me about eight times a week."
"Because it's true." Remus replied.
"Well, whatever. I don't think I'm a Drama Queen." Siri added.
"Says the boy who thought he was going to die from eating a Chocolate Frog." Rem and I said. At the same time.
"And the boy who thought he was going to die from looking at book for three minutes." I added. Smirking.
"Fuck off." Siri said.
"You know we're just teasing you? Right?" I asked.
"Yeah, but why do you do it to only me? Not Remus or James or Peter or anybody else?" Siri asked.
"Easy. Because you're the easiest one to get embarrassed and make blush. And it's fun. Watching you get flustered. I can say just one word. And you'll blush like crazy." I answered.
"Oh, yeah? What's the one word?" Siri asked.
I smirked. Then leaned over. Til I was next to his ear. And whispered one word. "Remus." I pulled back. To look at his face. And it was bright red. I laughed. "Told you." I said. Out loud.
"I hate you and I will get for this. Next full, we're on again." Siri replied. Glaring at me.
"Dude. One. I still take you down in Werewolf form. Last time. I pinned you in about thirty seconds. And two. Next full moon is on November 3rd." I told him.
He perked up. Like a dog does. "Really?"
I chuckled. "Really."
"I thought it was tomorrow." Siri admitted.
"Nope. November 3rd. So, unless you want to fight on your birthday..." I told him.
"Oh, I want to, it seems like fun." Siri paused. "Also, I'll finally be an adult." He did a little happy dance.
"Yeah. An adult. Who acts like he's five." I told him. He just stuck his tongue out at me.
"I still thought the full moon was tomorrow."
"Nope. Four days. To be more specific. Three days. Twenty one hours. Fifty three minutes. And twenty nine seconds."
"Wow. Just wow." Siri replied.
"I thought you only did that on the actual day." Rem said.
"No. I do all the time." I replied. "Hey. It helps with my anxiety." I turned to Siri.
"I'm going to ignore the fact that you count down the time till the full moon. And ask about the last time thing?" Remus asked.
"Oh. Last Year. During the full moon. On Christmas day. I fought with both of them. Play fighting. Not real fighting. I pinned Siri down in about thirty seconds. And Rem down in about two or three minutes." I smirked at Rem.
"Shut up." I rolled his eyes.
I nudged him. "That's a sore subject for McWerewolf over here. Probably because he lost a fight to a girl."
"I said shut up." Rem muttered. But. There was I slight smile there. I smiled back.
"Anyway. I don't care that you got me down last Year. We're going again." Siri told me.
"Oh. Did the puppy get stronger over the Summer? Gonna take down the big bad Wolf?" I asked. In a baby voice.
"I am not a puppy."
"Compared to my Wolf. You are a puppy." I paused. "Plus. As a human. You act like a child." Rem snorted.
"Shut up, Moony." Siri glared at him.
"I'm sorry, but she's right, Pads. You do act like a child sometimes." Rem replied.
"So you're taking her side instead of mine?" Siri asked.
"Well. You see. The thing about him is. He also thinks the same things I do. But. He's more of the 'stay silent, always watch, keep it in, don't say anything type.' Where as I. Don't really give a fucking shit. And just say it out loud. Cuz I don't give a fuck." I explained.
"How do you know that?" Rem asked.
I turned to him. I shrugged. "You're easy to read. I guess. Or. I'm just good at reading people." Rem just shook his head. "The only time. When I will not say something out loud. Is if I know the result of what I say. Is bad. Then I won't say it. Other than that. Does it look like I give a fuck?"
"I will never understand you." Siri shook his head.
"No you won't. I don't even understand myself at times." I agreed with him. I then turned to look at Siri. "Are you alright, Siri? You've been very forgetful lately. And just off. It's weird. Are you alright?"
Siri looked uncomfortable at my question. "I'm fine, really." I opened my mouth. But he continued speaking. "It was just a piece of homework that I forgot to do. I was stressing about it and it was the only thing on my mind, but, I finished it. So my work on Crups is done and I handed it in. So, I'm good now." He explained. Rem snorted.
I took a deep breath. "Sirius. Orion. Black. You do know. That the Crup homework. Was due. Last Year. We learned. About Crups. Last Year. And you just turned in the work. Now?"
Siri blushed. "Yes."
"I can't." I said. "I can't right now. I can't with you." I shook my head. But smiled though.
"I have a question." Siri said.
"A real one? Or a stupid one?" I asked.
"Shut up." Siri paused. "But, my question is, if he," He pointed to Sirius. "is technically me, and I'm technically him. And he's your Godfather, doesn't that mean-" He started. But I cut him off.
"No." I paused. I knew what he was going to ask. "No, you can't. One. Your not even an adult."
"Yet."
I gave him a look. "Still. No, you can't." I paused. "I don't know whether to put that question in the stupid pile or not. I think it gets it's own pile. Of being stupid. But entirely stupid."
(A/N: this next part is in French, but I'm not putting actual French in here, the words that are supposed to be in French will just be in italics)
"You know, one day, I'm going to get you back for all of this teasing and you won't see it coming. I kinda like how you tease me, but I'll get you for it one day. Just you wait." He smirked at me.
I raised an eyebrow. He said all that in French. I don't he knows that I'm actually fluent in French.
Rem and Remus had confused faces on. But. Both Siri and Sirius chuckled. But it was Siri. Who spoke.
"What? Don't know what I said? I was speaking-" He started. But I cut him off.
"French? Yeah. I know. Let me let you in. On a little secret." I paused. Smirking. "I'm actually fluent in French. Have been since I was about seven or eight. But. Nice try there. Siri. Nice try there."
"You speak French?" Siri asked. He had a shocked face on. So did Sirius. I never told him that. Granted. I've only known him for a little over two years. But still.
"Yes. Yes I do. Like I said. Been fluent since I was seven or eight." I answered. Smirking. Siri shook his head at me.
"Hey, Aspen?" Remus asked. I looked at him. "I think it's time we," he motioned to him and Sirius. "got going now."
My smiled dropped. "What?"
"I think we should get going. We've been here for awhile and we just came here to see if you were alright, and it looks likes you are." Remus explained.
"But I don't want you two to go." I said. I didn't. I really didn't.
"Hey. You have us. We're basically them, just younger." Siri said. Putting an arm around my shoulder.
"Not the same." I growled. I missed them. I didn't want to see them go.
"I know, but I agree with Remus. We should be going. It'll be alright." Sirius said.
"I know. I just don't you to leave."
"We don't want to leave either, but we have too. We miss you as well, but it's time. It was nice seeing you again." Remus added.
"It was nice seeing you two as well. I'm gonna miss you too." I smiled. So did they.
"We'll miss you too." Remus replied.
"But we think you're in very good hands here." Sirius smiled.
"And we'll tell everyone back at home, that you're safe and well." Remus added.
"Good bye, guys." I said. Sadly.
"You two take care of her." Sirius told Rem and Siri.
"We promise." Rem and Siri said. At the same time. Rem put his arm around my other shoulder.
"Good bye, Aspen." Remus and Sirius said. At the same time.
And the another flash of white. They were gone. I frowned. It was nice to see them. Really nice. I really did miss them. So much. It was amazing to talk to them. I loved them so much. And I miss them already. So much.
"Hey, don't look sad." Sirius (yup, going back to their actual names now that the adults are gone.) said. Giving my shoulder a small squeeze.
"It'll be alright." Remus asked.
"I know." Was all I said. I took a deep breath. Gave myself a little shake. And put on a smile.
I looked over a Sirius. Smirking. "You know how I said you were being annoying earlier? And not listening to me? And how I wanted to murder you almost every day?" Remus removed his arm. And backed up a bit.
"Yeah?" Sirius asked. Taking his arm away. And taking a step back.
"Run."
