A Talk With Lily

It's been a few days. Life was good. School was good. Everything was good. At Hogwarts. Not so much for out of Hogwarts. Voldemort continued to rise. Become more powerful. Unleashing destruction everywhere. But. At Hogwarts. It was fine. The most you had to worry. At least for Sixth Years. Was the amount of work that got piled up on us. It wasn't too bad. For me at least. But. For others. It was a challenge. But. It'll get better. Once we get more used to it. Then it will be fine.

Currently. I'm in my Dorm. I know. Shocker. Usually I'm in the boys Dorm. But. Yeah. I'm in here. The only other girl in here was Lily. I haven't been by myself. With Lily. Since the party. At the end of last Year. I thought about that night. And what Lily almost said. Before Sirius came. And dragged us away. Into the boy's Dorm. She said that she knew my something. I think she was gonna say secret. I know so. There was also the time. When we all saying goodbye. When she told me good luck with going home. And I asked if she did know. And she smiled. I guess she does know. Well. Only one way to find out.

"What are you thinking about, Aspen?" I heard Lily ask.

I looked up. At her. "I was thinking about the party. The one we had on the day of last Year."

"Yeah, that was fun. It was also supposed to be a going away party for you, but, you're still here."

I laughed. "I know. To be honest. Didn't even know I would be here this Year." I paused. Thinking. Do I ask her? If she knew? I wouldn't hurt to ask. "Hey, Lily?"

"Yeah."

"What were you going to say to me? Before Sirius dragged us into the party? What were you going to say?"

Lily smirked. So similar to mine. "You really want to know?"

I smirked back. "Yes. Yes I do."

"Ok. I was going to say that I knew your secret."

"Which is...?" I played dumb. She knew it too. She rolled her eyes.

"Really?"

I smirked. "Really. Pretend I have a bad memory."

"Ok. I know that your not from this time."

"How? How did you figure that out?"

"Um. I had suspicions for awhile, but, then, a couple days before O.W.L.s, I heard you reading to the boys. About a Time Traveling Spell and then, when James and Peter left, I heard you talking with Remus and Sirius, and it confirmed my findings." She shrugged. "That's it really."

"I didn't see you in the Common Room. That day."

"I was on the stairs."

"And you didn't want to come down?"

She shrugged again. "Didn't want to disturb you guys."

"I wouldn't have minded."

"Well I know that now."

"What about your findings? What were those?"

"Well, for starters, you showed up out of nowhere, but, that wasn't really a big thing. Also, that story seemed way too planned out. I could tell from looking at your face. Also, you seemed to know where things were in the castle, like you've been here before. Just some little things." She paused. Looking right at my left eye. The green one. That matched her's exactly. "And some bigger things." She smirked.

What? Is she thinking what I think she's thinking? Could she know? Could she?

"What?" I paused. "What? That's all I have. But. I will give you credit. Those little things. Nice job. But. What?"

She smirked. "You know, I've seen a lot of people with green eyes, but none were ever near my color. Until I met you. It's the same shade. The exact same shade."

"Coincidence?"

"I don't think so. Also, that day, when I overheard you talking to Remus and Sirius. You mentioned that, in your time, they would be like thirty five?"

"Yeah, about that."

"Well, that is twenty years from now, right? Your from twenty years from now?"

"Yup.1996 was the year I came from. It would be 1997 there now."

"Yup. Which means, given your age, you born in 1980?"

"Right again."

"So, four years from now?"

"Correct."

"Which means that your parents would have to be in this school now?"

"Not really. They could have more children."

"I thought it was just you and your brother? Your twin brother?"

"Oh. Right. So. Yeah. I guess they would be here." Fuck.

"So, is it really a coincidence that your parents are here, in this school, and you just happen to have the exact same eye color as me?"

I opened my mouth. Then closed it. I then sighed. "I guess. When you put it that way. It's not really a coincidence."

Lily was grinning. "So I'm correct?"

"Correct about what?"

"You know."

"I want to here it out loud."

Lily shook her head. "You're stubborn."

"Got it from my mother." I smirked. She laughed. "So? Gonna ask?"

She sighed. "This is going to sound weird to ask." She paused. She took a deep breath. And looked at me. "Am I your... Are you my...?"

"I'll save you trouble. Yes. You are correct. And. I agree. That would be weird to ask. It's weird for me. To confirm it." I shivered.

"Hey, it's not that bad." Lily laughed. Throwing a pillow at me. I laughed. Catching it. And throwing it back. She caught it.

"What is your full name?" Lily ask.

I shook my head. "I'll tell you my middle name. It's Lily. But. Not my last."

"Why not?"

"Don't you want to be a surprise?"

"I guess." Lily shrugged. "Wolfe does fit you though."

"I know. Why do think I chose it? Also. I thought it was ironic. You know? Werewolf and all."

"Yeah, it does fit." She paused. "What about your brother's middle name? Can you tell me that?"

I shook my head. Grinning. "Nope. Can't do that either. It would give away the surprise."

She rolled her eyes. "Fine." She paused. "Can I hear your full story, or, a least the parts that you can tell me?"

I thought about it. I shrugged. "I guess it won't hurt. And. You're right. There are somethings that I can't tell you. But. It's only a little bit. Not a big deal. You'll still know about 97% of my story. Still not the whole story. Even Remus and Sirius don't know the full story. They only know about 98%. So. You're not really missing much." I then got comfortable. And started my story.

I didn't mind. Her knowing. I didn't mind it. Not at all. And. Lily sat through it. Didn't interrupt. Didn't ask questions. Just. Listened. It felt nice. To let someone else know. But. Having it be your own Mum? Not gonna lie. Pretty weird. Of course. Like I said before. I didn't tell her a lot. Obviously. But. Still a bunch. I even told her all about what Remus and Sirius knew. Minus the part about Sirius being my Godfather. That would have definitely given away who my father was. Big time. But. Everything else? She knew. It felt good to get it out.

"Wow. That was a lot. That was from a little over a year?" She asked. Once I was done.

I nodded. "Yup. That was it. It is a lot. Now that I've explained it again. Forgot how much it actually was. Now that I think about it. I don't even know what's gonna happen now. Now that I've stayed. I have no idea what the consequences are going to be. None of them."

"It'll be fine. Whatever what happens. It'll be fine." Lily came and gave me a hug. I melted into it.

"Thank you. I hope so." I pulled away.

"You're welcome." She paused. "Is it only Remus and Sirius who know?"

"Yeah. And I don't planning on telling James or Peter. You see. With me. I like when people find out for themselves."

Lily laughed. "Which one is that?"

I smiled. "None. That's my own thing."

Lily shook her head. "And you're really a Slytherin?"

"Yup. Although. I don't know. Being around a whole bunch of Gryffindors. I might be leaning more to the Gryffindor side. But. You will never be able to take the Slytherin out of me." I wiggled my eyebrows.

"That's true."

"Yup. I'm proud to be a Slytherin. And now a Gryffindor. And I'll wear it forever." I flipped my hair. Lily laughed. I smiled.

Well. One parent knows. Wonder if the other one will figure it out.
