Why Severus Snape and Albus Dumbledore are bad people - An essay
Summary
I've seen a lot of Snape and Dumbledore stans and I really don't understand why they like him, so I decided to write an essay about why they are bad people (because they def are). This is also something I will be sharing with any Snape/Dumbledore stan or James anti. I hope you will enjoy.
Note
Be aware that english isn't my first language so the grammar won't be perfect!

Before I start I feel the need to explain why I’m writing this:
First off it’s because I think it’s fun, and it’s especially fun to argue with stupid people (aka Snape and Dumbledore stans/Marauders antis).
Second, if I ever meet a Snape/Dumbledore stan (or a Marauders/James anti) again I will just be sharing this with them and if they don’t change their mind it’s very worth it to drop them and ignore them forever (I’m joking… kind of)
Thanks and let’s get started, people.

Many people I’ve talked to consider James Potter a bully. I do not agree with that. Those people use two scenes in the books as examples: The train scene, where James meets Snape for the first time, and the lake scene, where James hangs Snape in a tree and pulls his pants down. I can agree with the fact that James isn’t nice to Snape and the first time they met he hadn’t done anything for him to actually dislike him yet, but in their fifth year in the lake scene Snape is definitely a bad person. First off, he had joined a hate group towards muggleborns, even though his best friend is one and he also called her a “mudblood” which is a slur towards muggleborns. This obviously hurt Lily, and even before that she had given him multiple chances to be better. James was mean to Snape because he cared for Lily, he knew she didn’t deserve a friend who was in a hate group towards people like her. And if you think James is a bad person for making fun of Snape once without reason you shouldn’t like Snape as well.
Also Snape created a spell just for the purpose to hurt James (sectumsempra) and used it on him.

Snape had a borderline obsession with Lily. He said that she was the only good muggleborn and only changed sides in the war because she was in danger. If it would've been Alice, Frank and Neville who was targeted by Voldemort he never would’ve changed sides. He came crying to Dumbledore because the woman he was obsessed with (who hadn’t spoken to him in years, but still he was obsessed with her) was in danger. This shows that he actually doesn't care about the lives of others, just Lily’s.

Even though Harry is Lily’s son, Snape treated him badly. He treated all students badly, except Slytherins who are mostly pureblood. He treated one student in particular (Neville Longbottom) very badly to the point that he was his worst fear. A teacher should never be a students worst fear in the first place, but especially not if the people who tortured said student’s parents into insantiy were still alive and out there.

In my opinion, there is nothing pleasant about Snape or his personality and the same goes for Dumbledore to let’s get into that.

He raised Harry to die. All throughout Hogwarts he knew something was happening, but let Harry (a child) handle it while he is supposed to be the best wizard of the age. He also put Harry in an abusive household (and let him go back every summer), knowing damn well how they were treating him. This is explained how the love magic works but is it really worth it for Harry to suffer throughout his entire childhood getting mistreated by his aunt and uncle and bullied by his cousin and his friends.

He also raised two child armies. The order of the phoenix is a good idea, but why is it always children that have to fight? And he didn’t just do this once, but twice. You can argue that if they’re seventeen they can make their own choices, but don’t you want people with more experience? As I said before, Dumbledore is the best wizard of the age but still he can’t be the one who fights Voldemort?

He also kept things from people close to him and kept them in the dark.
In the first movie, when Harry is in the hospital wing after going up against Voldemort all by himself Dumbledore doesn’t tell him about his connection with Voldemort, and he still hasn't in the fifth movie, which caused Sirius Black to die. Sirius died because Dumbledore wouldn’t tell Harry.
He put all pressure on a teenage boy who didn’t even know about his special connection with Voldemort.

Even though I despise Snape, Dumbledore still guilted him into killing him and while doing so put a freezing charm on Harry so he had to watch him die without an explanation.
