A red-haired girl called Lily walked into the Rousseau's joined by her friends Blaise Asian girl with brunette hair and Lucy another redheaded girl. They sat down at the wooden bar and ordered like every other day of the week Gumbo.
"You seem to enjoy my sisters Gumbo", stated Sophie Devereux a brunette women in her twenties who had taken their orders the last week. "Well, it reminds me off my grandma's food", admitted Lily. "And it's our last day in New Orleans so we thought we should eat it one last time", said Lucy.
"It's sad that you leave New Orleans without even seeing the best part of it", said Sophie. "And what that might be?", asked Blaise as always with a flirty smile on her lips. Sophie answered lowering her voice and leaning over to the girls from the opposite side of the bar. "People like you should definitely see the place where New Orleans witches gather and I m talking about the real ones, not the ones the tourists see."
"What do you mean people like us?", asked Lucy getting into her how Lily liked to call it 'full Gryffindor' mood. "Witches, even if you are wand users", replied Sophie as if it was the most casual thing she ever said she even turned around to the shelves behind her which were filled with colorful bottles with liquids which had caused a lot of bad decisions already.
"I can show you when you finished eating", suggested Sophie the three friends. "We are good but thanks", said Lily who had unlike her father a good radar for dangers and tried to not come to close to them... Well, unless they were cool.
"Come on Lil, that sounds nice", Blaise encouraged the idea. She turned to Sophie and agreed to the brunettes idea.
A short time later the three girls followed the brown-eyed New Orleans witch to the cemetery. As they entered Lucy commented: "You guys like this whole creepy and kinda confusing charm for your place to bury people." "Was the word graveyard really too hard for you? I mean even if you are Gryffindor?", joked Blaise around walking through the scaring scenery.
"Here we are guys", said Sophie Devereux and before anyone of the Europeans could respond a group of women stepped out and surrounded them. They came out of every corner and build a circle with the trio in the middle with their wands in their hands but it was too late. They started chanting some kind of spell neither of the young witches recognized.
Lily started feeling dizzy and her knees getting weak allowing her to fall to the floor. Because she heard two similar sounds she assumed that Lucy and Blaise also got overwhelmed by their magic.
After a few last blinks, Lily fell asleep waking up a few hours later in captivity of the witches along with her friends but without their wands.

Days later the Weasley, the Potter, and the Parkinson were still held in a burial vault on the graveyard. "I mean she kinda had a point if you think about it", argued Blaise causing Lily to roll her eyes annoyed and Lucy to look at her with the left eyebrow raised. "Really, you think she was-"
Before Lucy could finish that sentence a pair of witches entered and Lucy and Blaise stood instantly up prepared to fight. Lily got up knowing that her friends couldn't stand against these witches without their wands. So she signaled them with a small gesture of her hands to sat down and followed the New Orleans witches outside where she saw a guy in a suit standing.

He was handsome and maybe around 5'11". He had dark brown hair along with hazelnut colored eyes. His high cheekbones and his strong jawline gave him something sexy. Lily thought that he was only two or three years older than her but how wrong she was.
After hearing her steps on the floor he along with Sophie turned to see Lily. "I don't quite seem to understand why are you showing me this girl?" He frowned as he said this and as his heavy British accent began to be heard.
"Well...", Sophie tried to find a way to word herself. "This girl, she knows your brother in a unique way." Elijah looked at her confused till he after a moment realized what she meant. At the exact same moment that she realized that he was Klaus's brother.
"He knew a lot of women in that way what makes her different?", the original vampire asked. "She's pregnant", replied Sophie adding with a self-assured smile. "By your brother." "Vampires can't procreate", stated Elijah. "But werewolves can", countered the New Orleans witch.
There was some silence till Elijah turned to Lily. "Is that true?" He mustered Lily trying to figure out the truth. The redhead nodded without making eye contact with him.
"Can we talk alone for a moment?", asked Elijah turning to Sophie. She nodded and let two random witches lead them back to the burial vault Lucy and Blaise were still at. The two New Orleans witches left them alone but they were probably just waiting outside assumed Lily.
The girl with blue eyes and them contrasting red hair sat down on some kind of bench on which she had spent the last few days. She put a streak of her red hair behind her ear nervous about what he was going to say.
Elijah sat down next to her but his hazel brown eyes gazed the two girls he didn't know, looking the reason for their presence. It was quite for a few seconds. The silence seemed to be poisonous in its nothingness. Like a void that everybody feared to fill. The only thing heard were almost mute breaths and the beatings of witch hearts.
Wanting to break the uncomfortable silence Lily introduced herself: "I'm Lily, by the way, and these are my friends Lucy and Blaise." Her voice came out a bit more rambling than she expected it to but she didn't mind.
"Elijah", he replied finally looking away from the one redhead making eye contact with the other redhead. "So they've been holding you against your will?", Elijah asked putting his hand down on the bench next to Lily's.
"They lured us here, stole our wands, grabbed us. And did all these tests... Not that I understood how it happened.", stated Lily her gaze fixed nowhere in particular.
"There is a lot of history behind our family", said Elijah taking a short dramatic break. "But I assume you've already heard of us." He reached out for her hand trying to give her a bit of comfort even if they didn't know each other. The small gesture didn't stay unnoticed by the remaining two witches.
"Oh we've heard a lot", chuckled Blaise clearly not amused giving him a look. "No offense but your whole family especially your brother is known for being notorious psychos." The statement was followed by a mumbled comment of Lucy about Lily sleeping with him being typical for her. All four of them could hear it but chose to ignore it.
"I cannot excuse his behavior, but you must understand when our father hunted him – hunted us – for centuries, every time we found a moment of happiness, we were forced to flee-" "That must suck", commented Lily as she tried to loosen up the situation.

The group shared a short smile before Elijah continued. "Even here, in New Orleans, where we were happiest of all... Not long after Niklaus broke the spell which prevented him from becoming a hybrid, he defeated our father. I thought this would make him happy.", Elijah shook his head about how wrong he was. "He was angrier than ever. I wonder if perhaps this baby might be a way for my brother to find happiness. A way to save him from himself."
Before any of them replied turned the doe brown pair of eyes owned by none other than the original vampire himself to the door of the dreary vault were Sophie entered.
"I'm glad you feel that way because we need your help." After hearing the noises of her shoes meeting the ground the rest of the group had turned around as well. But none of them noticed the fists Blaise formed.
"What, precisely, is it that you want and what does it have to do with this young woman?", asked the male making a small smile appear on the pregnant girls face as she heard the name her older brother gave her used by Elijah.
Before her mind could slip away further Sophie replied: "We want to run Marcel and his vampires out of town. Klaus is the key. Everything Marcel knows about being a vampire, he learned from Klaus. Marcel trusts him, looks up to him, and he won't see the betrayal coming."
The three witches who had graduated Hogwarts had heard some stories about Marcel Gerard but everything was more like tales and not like concrete facts so they exchanged curious looks.
"Yes, well, as I'm sure you're aware, my brother", he stood up and walked two or three steps putting his hands on his hips. He continued the sentence after the dramatic break: "Niklaus doesn't like to be told what to do."
"That's why I brought you here. Marcel drove the werewolves out of town decades ago", Lily cringed at Sophie's statement she didn't like people hating werewolves. Some of her best friends were some. "Do you really think he's going to welcome a hybrid baby to the neighborhood? Convince Klaus to help us, and no one has to know about the newest member of the Original family."
The thought of her child becoming part of the family of psychos seemed so absurd to Lily if the situation had been different she might have laughed if she and her best friends wouldn't have been kidnapped by a crazy witch coven. But on the other hand nobodies, life was perfect.
"That sounds remarkably like blackmail", said Elijah getting Lily's thinking back to the topic. He clearly didn't like Sophie's tone and Lily had to agree she sounded so sure in herself and her plan. So she was either an extremely confident person or Lily was in a really bad situation.
"As I said, I'm desperate", replied Sophie her eyes fixed on Elijah.
"Well, then", his look flickered to Lily's belly for a short moment. "I have my work cut out for me, don't I?"

Sometime later Elijah returned to the cemetery with a guy a who had curly dirty blond hair and dark green-blue eyes. Everybody on the cemetery, which just meant a group of New Orleans witches and the three young girls from across the pond, instantly recognized him as the one and only Original hybrid, Niklaus Mikaelson.
"No. It's impossible", stated Klaus denying the facts without talking to anybody in particular. Elijah replied to his brother a lot calmer but with the same strong accent: "I said the same thing myself."
"This is a lie. You are all lying", he pointed at almost everyone who stood near him causing Blaise to role her eyes annoyed. "Vampires cannot procreate."
"But werewolves can", answered Sophie causing Klaus who stood with his back to her to turn around. "Magic made you a vampire, but you were born a werewolf. You're the Original hybrid, the first of your kind. And this pregnancy is one of nature's loopholes."
Klaus spun around to Lily and her friends screaming: "You've been with someone else, admit it!"
But before Lily even had the chance to reply Lucy snapped: "She's been held captive for days in a freaking alligator bayou because they think that she's carrying some magical miracle baby. Don't you think she would've fessed up if it wasn't yours?"
"My sister gave her life to perform the spell she needed to confirm this pregnancy. Because of Jane-Anne's sacrifice, the lives of this girl and her baby are now controlled by us. We can keep them safe. Or we can kill them. If you don't help us take down Marcel, so help me, Lily won't live long enough to see her first maternity dress." The three British witches cursed dramatically as a response.
"Enough of this", Elijah said as he took a step forward on the dirty floor. "If you want Marcel dead, he's dead. I'll do it myself."
"No. We can't, not yet. We have a clear plan that we need to follow, and there are rules." Everybody looked at Klaus awaiting his reaction. Especially Elijah seemed as if he tried to calculate his younger brother's reaction but as he saw the deep breath which Klaus took he knew he was angry.
"How dare you command me, threaten me", he empathized it as if it never had happened before. "With what you wrongfully perceive to be my weaknesses. This is a pathetic deception. I won't hear any more lies." The look in his eyes alone was so furious it seemed poisoning. The anger made his body shake. He turned around to leave his controlled by his emotions.
"Niklaus!... Listen", Elijah commanded his little brother to listen to as Lily assumed the following speech but no speech came after. Only silence could be heard by mortals but the vampires could listen to the rhythmic pulsation of the heart of the unborn child.
After a look of Klaus at first Lily and then the other witches he said: "Kill her and the baby. What do I care?" Finishing with a rhetorical question he disappeared with the use of his vampire speed.
"No one touches the girl", he told the witches followed by a nod Sophie. So he turned to Lily and promised: "I'll fix this."

Afterward, the witches were in the mausoleum, talking. A few steps away sat the three British girls on the dirty floor leaning with their backs against the cold grey stone walls as they whispered about if they could use enough magic to flew from the New Orleans witches without the use of their wands.
Whatever Sophie and the others discussed went silence when a specific expensive suit wearing vampire appeared leaning on the wall. "She can't. I'm not entirely certain that I can, either. But now that your coven has drawn his ire, I have a question: What prevents my brother from murdering you instead of cooperating?" He raised his left eyebrow.
Sophie took a sewing needle out of her pocket and showed it to the brunet Original. She stuck the needle into her finger. Lily squeaked in surprise. Elijah looked at her. There was a red drop of blood on her hand, exactly at the same point where Sophie hurt herself.
"What the hell!?", exclaimed Lucy.
"The spell my sister performed, the one that got her killed? It didn't just confirm the pregnancy. It linked me to Lily. So anything that happens to me, happens to her, which means her life is in my hands. Klaus may not care about his own child, but it's very clear what it already means to you. If I have to hurt Lily – or worse – to ensure that I have your attention, I will."
Sophie's monologue seemed to slightly amuse Elijah something neither Lily or her friends agreed with him on. "You would dare threaten an Original?"
"I have nothing to lose", explained Sophie. The grin disappeared from Elijah's face.
Lily and Lucy exchanged a look full of fear. "People who have nothing to lose are the most dangerous ones", was something Hermione had always told her nieces.
"You have until midnight to get Klaus to change his mind."
Hours later the witches were still in the mausoleum. The church clock started tolling. Lily looked at her friends questioning if they should act now. Blaise nodded slightly as she shoved her blonde hair behind her ear.
But before they could act out their plan Elijah appeared carrying the lifeless body of Jane-Anne. Her brown hair was messy and stained with dry blood. Her skin was pale and her lips were already slightly blue. It was hard to think that it was the same girl who looked so good and full of life only a few days ago.
"And I bring proof of my intent to help you: the body of your fallen friend, which I procured from Marcel himself."
"Jane-Anne", exclaimed Sophie all of her confidence and coldness of the last days washed away.
"May she be granted peace. Klaus will agree to your terms. I just need a little more time", Elijah said. Agnes a dark-skinned woman who also was one of the elders of the Coven replied hatefully: "You had your time. It's passed."
"Shut up, Agnes", shut Sabine Laurent, a young woman with wavy hair and mahogany like skin who possessed magical powers, the elderly women down.
"For now, accept the deal. The girl and the child remain unharmed, or Klaus will kill you all", threatened Elijah before he walked away, but then turned around again. "And I will help him."
Luckily the New Orleans witches freed the girls from the other side of the pond and Elijah brought them to a huge, white house. As Lucy and Blaise had probably already fallen asleep in the rooms they were staying at, Lily pulled a sheet off of a crib, coughing because of the dust.
"Are you alright?", asked Elijah entering the room. Lily looked over her shoulder to the wooden door he had just entered through. "I'm good just some dust."
"Yes, it should serve our purposes. It's a sanctuary from our business in the Quarter. Right now, you are the most important person in this family. You need a good home", he walked closer to her but stopped himself from containing talking as he saw her smile a sad smile at his statement and asked instead: "Did I say something funny?"
She shook her head as she turned back to the crib. "No, no, it's complicated maybe I'll tell you about it someday... But not know." He nodded even if she couldn't see him. "So I'm curious... In all this time, has anyone asked you how you feel?"
Lily's hands stopped fiddling on the baby bed abruptly. She turned around and asked him with true curiosity: "About what?"
"About being a mother", he said standing next to her looking into her bright blue eyes with dark bags under her eyes.
She went silent for a few seconds before she replied:" I don't know. It's weird and scary and so much more."
"I want you to know I will always protect you. You have my word on that", stated Elijah but before Lily could reply or just thank him Klaus appeared. "And noble Elijah always keeps his word." "If you would excuse us, Lily." He said following his brother outside but before he exited through the door he looked the last time at Lily who had already turned her attention to the bed which stood in the corner of the room.
