"Why, hello there, dear Flint!" Exclaimed Fred, as he snatched the textbook out of Venus's Flints Lap. She looked up, only for her to turn annoyed at the sight of the Weasley twins.
"What do you want, you idiots." snapped the 17-year-old as she attempted to grab the book from Fred, who threw it to George.
"We just have some questions we wanted to ask," George said as he flipped through the charms textbook, labeled "Charms For 7th Years". "About, you're brother, Marcus" Fred added, which made Venus's face go from an angry expression to a more, softer, yet confused look.
"Why me..." mumbled Venus, as she sat back down on the rock near the lake.
The twins, who ignored her, continued. "Oh, you know. About...his romantic life..." Spoke to Fred and George at the same time. Now Venus looked startled and rather alarmed. "What?" She whispered.
"We said, Oh, you know-" voiced Fred and George, yet they were cut off by Venus's sharp response: "No"
Now it was the twin's turn to be confused. "What?"
"Do I look like I'm Marcus to you? Or do you need glasses like one of your brothers?" drawled Venus, who now was picking up another book. The twins said nothing, for minutes, the only sound was the giant squid splashing around the water, the sound of pages being flipped, and the occasional mutter of a spell. Finally, the twins sighed.
"Alright, alright." And with that, they realized that they will have to dig deeper into Venus's nerves.
And they did. But every time, Venus simply refused.
Finally, after two whole months, the twins caught on to the fact that Venus, will simply not crack.
And so, with a heavy heart, they watched as Venus walked away from them, back into the Slytherin dorms. But when the Weasley twins walked away, feeling hopeless. The sound of Venus's footsteps stopped. And they heard her softly whisper
"Well, I guess it won't hurt too bad if I told you something."
Who knows? Venus thought. Maybe this would make a nice wedding story one day.
