Chapter 1
Bianca never saw the ocean her entire life. The church where she lived is far from the beach and it’s up north so she’s mostly used to the snowy climate. Sometimes she wondered how blue the ocean would look like, how clear the water, and how big the waves. There’s a lot of activities to do in snow but the cold sometimes could be dangerous, so she thought that the ocean could be a lot of fun and safer. Except when you couldn’t swim, obviously but she sure it won’t be that hard to learn when she has a construct body.
And speaking of construct body, she was supposed to go back to Daedalus HQ for maintenance after her mission but she didn’t necessarily feel the urge to go back quickly. It had been only easy missions these past few days and she knew how to take care of herself so she can have more time exploring some of the places she has never been.
Which is why she was wandering around the coast and found an empty boat drifting alone to the coast. Except there was a heavily injured redhead female construct lying unconscious on the boat.
She checked the redhead’s vital point and was relieved to discover that she is still alive. For now, at least. She wasn’t sure how the redhead was able to survive such injuries. Her left arm is pretty much broken, her left eye bleeding so bad, and several wounds on her body like she’s been dragged from rubbles. She checked the redhead’s ID and found out that she is from Kurono.
She remembered Wen, her boss, sometimes mentioned the organization and from what she could gather that it’s one of Babylonia’s factions that worked in the shadows. He never told her anything about Kurono though but she knew that Daedalus and Kurono are connected somehow. Which is why it was up to her to take care of this construct herself because she knew bringing her to Daedalus would be a terrible choice.
She put an arm beneath the redhead’s neck and knees to carry her out of the boat. The redhead groaned slightly but otherwise unresponsive the whole time. Bianca put her down when they arrived at some ruined building and checked the area around. Then she began to put on the work of treating the unconscious female construct in front of her.
But right as she started, the redhead stirred awake. She still hasn't fully come to herself so Bianca tried to talk to her.
“Hey,” she smiled awkwardly at the half conscious redhead. “You look like hell.”
The redhead’s words are slurred. “Yeah?” She grabbed Bianca’s collar shirt with her unbroken arm. “Well, I just got back.”
Then she pulled Bianca into a kiss, surprised her, before falling unconscious again.
