Back to 1980

Teddy waited until he could hear his parents bedroom door close before sneaking out of bed. It wasn't long until he heard Harry's snores and Ginny's soft breathing. He went down the stairs, being as quiet as possible. He opened the door to his godfather's study, extremely softly. He closed it behind him, going over to the desk in the room. It was richly made, and was covered in artifacts from years past, and from Harry's auror missions. Teddy found what he was looking for, the picture he had found earlier, and then in the right top desk drawer, the time turner that his aunt Hermione insisted her closest friends have, and in the drawer below that, the Marauders Map he was to inherit when he started his fourth year. He went outside next, needing space to carry out the last phase of his plan. The hard part was over, all he had to do now was get the timeline right on the time turner and he would go back to 1996 and prevent Sirius Black from dying. And then he had to go back to 1979 to prevent Regulus' death and therefore the rest of the events that took place after that. He could at least convince his dad and the other Marauders that Sirius' brother wasn't lying.

"Take me to Godric's Hollow, 1979" Teddy whispered, spinning the turner and disappearing in a flash of light. It woke Harry, who saw the light from his window. He sat up, rushing out of bed. He couldn't place it, but something was wrong and he could feel it. He checked on Lily first, then Al and James. He went to Teddy's room next, opening the door. Seeing that his godson was not in bed, Harry went back to his room, waking Ginny.

"Teddy's gone" Harry told her.

"He's probably just in the kitchen. You know how hungry he gets, especially at night" She groaned, still half asleep.

"Gin, the lights are all out. He's not in bed. Teddy's gone" Harry repeated. Ginny opened her eyes, letting those words settle in. She stood up, going to check around the house for the missing boy. Once it settled in that Teddy really was missing, Harry and Ginny began panicking. They tried not to wake James, Al, or Lily but they didn't care if they did.

"James! Would you knock it off?" Remus shoved James off him, a fond smile tugging at his lips. James only invaded his space more, causing Sirius to pounce on the brunette as well.

"Oi! Sirius, you're not a dog, stop laying on me like you are!" Remus groaned, pushing the man off him, and shoving James to the side again. Peter watched all of this with a fond look on his face.

"But Moony!" Sirius whined, sounding much like he did as Padfoot. Remus didn't let him finish, just pushing Sirius onto the ground and leaving him there. Sirius huffed, trying to stand up but Remus pushed against him with his feet.

"If you want up, then beg" Remus teased. Sirius huffed again, trying and failing to stand up. James let this continue, for it wasn't often that Remus played around with his friends.

"Alright, Remi. Let him up" James moved Remus' legs so Sirius could get up.

"Thank you, James! At least someone here loves me" Sirius declared. Peter said nothing, just smiled at them. Remus rolled his eyes but there was no weight behind it. At that moment, there was a flash of light and the four friends rushed to their feet, wands drawn. When the light faded, stood before them was a small child of thirteen, with vibrant blue hair that was all over the place and looked like it hadn't been touched in weeks, even months. He was small and skinny, kind of looking like Remus had at thirteen.

"Who are you?" James demanded, pointing his wand at the kid. Wide brown eyes peered back at them, blinking once, twice, before answering.

"Teddy. My name's Teddy" Teddy answered. He figured it was a bad idea to reveal his last name quite yet. He could already tell, even without names, who the boys, or men, in front of him were. He recognized Remus from pictures Harry gave him, that he got from some of the older teachers at Hogwarts. And James, much the same way. Peter had been featured in their history books at Hogwarts and he recognized Sirius from the picture he carried in his pocket.

Remus, Sirius, James and Peter exchanged looks, unsure of what to do next. They couldn't hurt a child, and they would never do that, but they also had no idea who this kid was or why he suddenly appeared in their house.

"Teddy who?"
