chapter three
Downstairs in the Black family kitchen, Remus prepared a small tray for Harry’s night stand. It pained him to realize that Harry had probably never had anyone make him something like this before. HeI filled an old cup with filtered water and ice and used some of the ice to put in a small rag as well. He placed two muggle advil on the tray next to a few crackers. Feeling content with the small little care package Remus lifted it carefully so as to not spill the glass of water. This proved to be quite challenging as the stairs were quite steep and in some areas lacked any sort of handle.
When Remus reached the third floor in which Harry’s room resided he saw Sirius in a small compacted sitting position by the door opening. He watched for a moment as his chest rose and fell evenly, letting out an exhale that he was not having a panic attack.
The position he was in was a method Remus had taught him.
He approached him slowly so he didn't catch him off guard but his head shot up the first step he took forward. His eyes were red and swollen, along with his flushed cheeks.
After giving Sirius a brief kiss he headed into Harry’s room. He didn’t expect him to be sleeping, and Remus was correct. When he rounded the corner of the bed he was able to see Harry’s eyes glossy, his mouth clenched shut so his cry’s weren’t audible.
“Oh Cub,” Remus started, walking towards him. Placing the tray on his nightstand he held out the two advil. Harry gratefully took them and gulped down a significant amount of water. He didn’t say anything but gave a sad smile and laid back down, turning away from Remus.
Remus returned to the doorway to find Sirius in the same position as before and I slid my back down the wall next to him. He looked up meeting Remus’ eyes.
“Moony, I have a question, and I'm just going to ask it not because I don’t trust you, but because I want you to be safe,” he hesitated.
“Babe, I know this is hard to see. Seeing this...uh doesn't make you feel like..you need to-" Sirius asked timidly.
"No!" the wolf responded, shocked by the venom in his voice. Remus hated to be doubted.
"Sorry, sorry I didn't mean to yell. I promise, I am not feeling any urges."
Sirius smiled at his lover. How lucky he was to have him. "No need to apologize," Sirius spoke, bringing him into a tight hug,
“I just wanted to check in,” he smiled.
“I love you Moony, to the moon and back.” Sirius momentarily cringed at his own words but Remus just lightly chuckled and leaned his face into Sirius’s hair.
