The dead, the fled and a couple of kids
Uchiha Itachi, a dying Shisui behind him, buying him time and ready to blow things sky high against Danzo’s attempted coup to keep their eyes out of his hands, runs straight for Uzushio, the Jinchuriki girl and his little brother in his arms.
He’s splashed in the blood of his kin and that of the little Jinchuriki who had been hit with a few Kunai though she was healing fast.
Nowhere in Konoha is safe.
Exhausted and coughing (so much Chakra use had stirred up his lung disease) he stumbles over a piece of rubble and curls around his two charges. Better he hit first.
He rolls into the grass of a park under a bridge, shadows of immense buildings like those of those he saw under the ocean that one time, towering overhead.
Perhaps, his exhausted mind postulates, the Uzumaki were less gone than anyone thought.
They went back, went here, instead.
He has no time for this.
There is a river, heavily polluted, and a small forested copse.
He promptly grabs the two children again and stumbles into it.
Then, against his best efforts, he passes out.
He wakes in what looks like a shed, with THREE little bodies around him. The ringer has a head of green curls and looks no older than three or so.
How… What… Why?
Or an 'on the run' Itachi falls through a Portal and into Musutafu's forest.
He is taken in by former Vigi Inko and her baby boy and adapts quickly.
Chakra is harder to access and far weaker but being around the Jinchuriki girl seems to supercharge them.
