Chapter 4

It was the 31st of October, Samhain or Halloween as the muggles call it. Samhain is the day in the year were the barrier between the living and the dead is the thinnest. Those family’s who still practise the old days, use this day to honour their dead. Celeste did the same thing with her relatives, however this year she would not join her family. No, Celeste was stuck in Hogwarts having to endure the headmasters love for Halloween.

Much like the rest of Slytherin, Celeste was sitting at the table with an unladylike sneer. “Why can’t they let us go home for the evening so we can honour our dead in peace” sneered Daphne. “I could not agree more, it is our culture and traditions. The mud bloods are allowed to go home to celebrate Christmas” replied a fourth year. The rest of the table agreed in silence. “We could do our own ritual in the common room; a house elf can get the stuff we need,” said Blaise. “But nobody knows how to do it. We are not the head of our house. So, we do not know the rituals,” said Pansy.

“My uncle Arcturus and aunt Cassie have been teaching me since technically I’m the head of me house” explained Celeste. So, it was decided that the Slytherins would honour their deaths later. As the food vanished, professor Quirrell ran inside the hall. “Troll in the dungeons; I thought your mid want to know” with that he fainted. The students began to scream. The Slytherins made there way to the common room through a secret passage so they would not meet said troll.

The rest of the night, they perform a small ritual. Celeste did not know much yet, so it was only a small ritual.

It was finally time to go home for yule, Celeste went into the platform where she saw her family standing beside the Malfoys. She broke out into a run, running straight into Cassie. “We missed you to” chuckled Arcturus. After she hugged all of them a group of red heads were walking in her direction. “Mom that is Celeste she is a Peverell,” said Ronald. “Oh dear, your parents were such great people and such brave fighters. Fighting against You-know-who” fussed the woman “I’m Molly Ron’s mother.”

The woman stepped a step forward ending with a wand to her throat. “Don’t make another step” threatened Pollux. “You did not know my parents. The lived there whole live outside the country. Besides, they never fought against the dark lord” soke Celeste. “How would you know your parents aren’t alive” snapped Ronald. “They wouldn’t associate with blood traitors” replied Cassie with a smirk. Leaving a group of red heads, the family left the train station.

Later that day, Molly wrote a letter to the headmaster. Informing him that his plan did not work and that he needs a knew plan to get the girl under his control. They need her money and influence; they need to get rid of those Blacks.

After coming back from holiday, the school year proceeded quite quickly, Celeste and her friends finished their exams with ease. she had the best results of the year. Tomorrow it would be their last day before heading home for the summer holiday.

Celeste was sitting in the library reading a book until a fourth year came in told her that the headmaster wanted to see her. She packed her things and made her way to the headmaster’s office, via an enchanted bracelet she got she informed her family, Arcturus and Cassiopeia would floo to the office. Walking into the office she sought a headmaster seated at his table. “Ah yes my dear why don't you have a seat” spoke the old man. “Why am I here headmaster I don't recall doing anything wrong,” said Celeste. “No, you did nothing wrong, don’t worry my dear I just wanted to talk to you” replied dumbledore.

Albus had it all planned out he would use the confundus charm to get the girl on his side if talking with her would not do the job. “I am sure you have heard about dark magic before. a few years ago, there was a dark Lord, the light side fold against him which resulted into him disappearing and the light side winning” explained the men. “I am quite aware of dark magic, and I am also aware of the war headmaster but I'm not certain why you ask me to come here to tell me some tale. especially from your side a few because I certainly do not care about your opinion in such matters” replied the girl.

Before dumbledore could reply the floo lit up. “Albus what is the meaning of this” asked Lord Black. “Nothing I was just having a chat with Miss Peverell” spoke to headmaster. “He wanted to tell me about dark magic, the war and how the light side won” replied Celeste. “I didn't know that you went around trying to persuade young children onto your side Albus” cackled Cassiopeia. “Nonsense, I was merely informing Miss Peverell,” said the headmaster.

“I do not think it's anything of your business to tell young children things like that” exclaimed Arcturus “this is the decision off the Childs family.” “I am sure you're more than delighted to teach a young child dark magic” snapped Albus. “I still don't see what it is any of your business” sneered Cassie. “I don't think that you are fit to be the Childs guardian” answered the headmaster. “They are the best guardians for whom I could wish. they taught me everything I know and treated me like real family. you have no say in who my guardian is you are just my headmaster, so I wouldn't try to overstep that boundary” spokes Celeste like the heir she was raised to be. After the adults argued more Celeste went to her room to prepare for summer.
