Remus misunderstands and self-deprecates

Remus POV:
It made sense. That was Remus’ main thought when he first saw Sirius and James snogging.
Everything clicked. They’ve always been so close, it’s always been Padfoot and Prongs while him and Wormtail were less prominent in their group of marauders. The couple had always known each other well, been there for each other and loved each other as friends, talked about everything together. Maybe this was what those late-night discussions tuned out by the silencio charm were all about, that his two best friends love each other.

In his state of shock, Remus prayed that they didn’t see him when he walked in, he looked to the closest shelf and started trying to throw the invisibility cloak on himself. He needed to get out, he couldn’t watch this any longer. It wasn’t because of the gay thing, I mean, he himself was bisexual. It was because it was Sirius. It was because after smelling the amortentia, Sirius must have smelled James and not him. Remus was in love with someone who would never feel the same, it made sense, who could ever love a monster? And even without the lyncrothopy, Remus still had so many issues with his emotions and his need to separate himself from people. He just…he thought something had been there, he guessed wrong.
Anyways, Remus had to get out. He couldn’t watch the love of his life kissing his friend for more than a second, and he didn’t have to. The sound of the door or the cloak or something had made it obvious to the lovebirds that someone else came into the room.

Sirius and James froze.

Remus expected to hear some jokes, some “ever heard of knocking” or laughter or more kissing or something, but it was dead silent. They knew someone was there, he just prayed he could get out, but they were looking right by the door so it wasn’t like he could crack it open or anything.

James coughed, and finally said, “Who’s there?”

“Is-is it Remus?” Sirius quickly added.

Now there was a decision to be made: reveal himself, wait and pretend that he’s not there, or make his existence obvious while escaping. Though this may not have been the best choice, Remus was raised with the idea that avoidance is a generally good strategy some of the time, or at least that that was his favorite strategy. So, underneath the cloak, Remus quickly left the room and tried to think of some hiding spot to go to.

Shit, he really should have brought the map so he could find somewhere to hide. FUCK, he really should have brought the map because if his friends check it in the next few moments they’ll KNOW that it’s him who caught them.
Remus runs, runs like his life depends on it, runs not thinking of anything at all. Not thinking of the way they looked together. Not thinking of how passionate Sirius was when he was kissing. Not thinking of anything in the slightest.
He passes by the library, considering going in but knowing that would be too obvious, but then maybe obvious was the best choice because obvious would make it appear like nothing is wrong. Still, Remus decides to pass by the library, he needs to be alone.
After a few moments of catching his breath and thinking, Remus heads to the tunnel connected to HoneyDukes. Not planning on actually going there, but maybe he could get some chocolate, that always seems to help in the movies and tv shows when girls have heartaches.
