Ron and the Obscurus
"Oh gosh, oh my goodness, oh my god, that is not cool," Ron exclaimed as they were still stuck behind the shield, retreating back as the obscurus struck itself on the shield. Ron almost stumbled back, thankful that he was gripping his grandfather's arms tightly.
"I know you were in there, Syvilla, listen to us!" Repholious yelled, but it was kept striking them.
"Revius is manipulating you to get powerful! You don't need to listen to him! You are stronger than you realized, it is not your fault, Syvilla!" But the obscurus seemed unfazed, and Roselette informed him they needed to leave right away.
When the obscurus was nearing them, Ron noticed a face growing on it. "It was making a face! A face!" Ron cried, pointing at it.
"I want you two to apparate and go fetch Ron in a different direction!"
Roselette nodded, Ron let go of his grandfather's arms as they ascended in a different direction, and the obscurus noticed them to its left and soared in their direction. "How do we defeat it?" he asked as Rosellete cast another shield.
"Revous said something to it that enraged it; he was trying to kill you Ron now that he knew our plans and everything."
"But why me!" Ron exclaimed as they apparated again. He was woozy, and his body was becoming heavier. "Repholious, he can't apparate any more times, he’s young!" she yelled back.
Ron returned his gaze to the obscurus, which was already developing a face. "Can you keep the shield?" he questioned instantly.
"Yes, and what are you doing?" she asked. "I believe it needs help," Ron replied, returning his gaze to the obscurus.
"Are you insane!?"
"I am not, hey, Syvilla! Do you know Beauty and the Beast? I read Beauty and the Beast when I was young, and the prince became a beast because of a curse, and only true love can change him, but the point is, he couldn’t returned back until someone shows him what true love is, and if Revius truly doesn't love you, he won't be using you to become like this—"
"Remember how Revius fell in love with you. If he really loves you, then you were going to be just an ordinary girl. My sister once told me that what good is love if it can't change someone? It's true, isn't it? If its true love then Revius won't keep you forever in that jar and used you to murder people."
"Help... me," Ron overheard the Obscurus say.
"You are free," he encouraged her as the Obscurus stopped hitting the shield. Ron thought it was all over when Roselette lower the shield, but a spell just hit Ron right through his chest, stunning him out. The obscurus appeared frightened and flew away.
"Ron!" exclaimed Rosellete as she hurried towards Ron, who had collapsed on the ground. "Repholious!" she said, noticing Repholious staring at his brother Revius, wands in hand, pointing at Repholious.
"You lied to me, Repholius!" he screamed, his fists shaking.
"I didn't lie to you, Revius; I just wanted to protect you."
"Do not spit my name with that filthy tongue of yours, Repholious; you are nothing more than a scumbag who duped me."
"And so do you," Repholious remarked as he began to walk towards Revius. "Put down your wand."
"Ah, Syvilla. You came," Revous said, smiling at the obscurus in front of him.
"You....lied.....to....me..." growled the obscurus.
"No, I didn't. I loved you, Syvilla, and that's why I kept you with me forever. Aren't we in love?"
"This...is...not....I....want....Revius..."
"Kill them," Revius commanded the obscurus.
"You...lied...to me..." it said.
Repholious stared at them and said, "Now, Revius, you should free her." Rosellete turned Ron's head, saw blood on it, and mumbled, "Damn it," before doing a healing spell.
"It's embarrassing..." Roselette came to a halt when he heard Ron's voice. "I-I used the story, I thought if I used it, it'd work....sorry....just don't know what to say," he said quietly.
"Do not speak," she whispered as she began to treat the wound again. "I'm sorry...I..." Ron began to cry.
"I'm scared..."
Rosellete shuddered and whispered into his ear, "You're simply a boy we knew, Ron. I am very sorry, you need to deal with such a catastrophe. I am very sorry, you're strong, alright? Listen to me. You're strong, you're brave."
Ron sobbed and slowly began nodding. "I want to see them, my true family...please I want to see them."
Rosellete kissed his forehead as she heard loud cracks in their surroundings; the obscurus seemed to notice them as the Aurors began casting spells on it. Revius cursed and apparated loudly before several of the Aurors apparated again to track him down.
"Rosellete! Rosellete!" She heard Meribbet's voice. "Do not kill the obscurus!" she yelled.
The Obscurus flew towards Ron as he lifted his fingers, and the Obscurus touched his fingers as it dark mass started forming a hands, arms, to chest—it formed a lady, she was so pale, so thin, bones were appearing, she was dying as she collapsed on the ground. But she was still beautiful.
Her long white gown complemented her blonde long wavy hair and blue eyes. She resembled a Disney character, but she was dying. One of the Aurors dashed up to the woman to check her pulse. "Dead."
Roselette closed her eyes as Ron gripped her coat, his gaze fixed on the woman's open eyes. It was similar to the owl he had met before, who died with wide eyes.
Repholious took Ron into his arms. "They were searching for my brother," he explained.
"Where are you taking him?" Rosellete asked.
"I'm going to the Burrow."
It was late in the evening and freezing. When Repholious glanced at the sleeping boy in his arms as he strolled to the field in St. Ottery Catchpole, he couldn't apparate in front of The Burrow's entrance because it would wake them up, and there was a strong protective charm surrounding the location. "It's time, Ronald," he declared.
"I am deeply sorry," he continued as he noticed the multi-story house, The Burrow. The boy's family's home. As he approached the front door, he knocked; there were loud voices outside; it appeared like the Weasleys were eating dinner; unbeknownst to them, they were on their way to meet their missing youngest son.
"Blimey, Repholious! What's the sudden visit this fine evening—and who is that?" Arthur asked upon noticing a youngster on his arms.
"I've heard about the news before, and I need to leave right away; the MACUSA is in need of someone in the case right now. Arthur, I am really sorry," he said, placing the boy on Arthur's arms, who appeared bewildered.
"I'll talk to you and the boy next week," he said as he walked away. Arthur was about to call him again when the youngster on his arms squirmed and, to his horror, a sight of his face appeared.
"Merlin, MOLLY!" he exclaimed. "DEAR MOLLY!"
Ron squinted as a beam of sunlight struck his face; as his vision cleared, he noticed a ceiling he wasn't familiar with; he slowly looked around, exhausted by whatever magic had tossed him away; his head was still aching somewhat, but he was relieved it wasn't bleeding. He yawned and was still weary, so he went back to sleep, later wondering where the heck he was.
He didn't open his eyes again until he heard some whisperers outside the room, and when he did, he discovered that the room wasn't that big. He could hear whispers and a loud SHUSH.
"Hello?" Ron asked. The door closed and reopened, revealing a plump woman with strawberry red hair gazing at him, tears in her eyes.
"Hello," she said, sniffing. Ron froze in his spot as he realized what was going on. "I—you must be..." Ron gestured to his and her hair.
"Oh, Ronald. Yes, Ronald, we named you Ronald," she continued as she sat on the bed.
Ron felt tears well up in his eyes as he wiped it, his heart pounding loudly, he sat slowly and looked at the woman once more. Then he felt an embrace, it was warm—It was quite unusual, like a mother who hadn't seen her son in ages.
"Oh, Ronald. It was you, Ronald. It was you, Ronald. It was my son. My lost son, my youngest son. See at you, look how healthy you are," Molly stroked Ron's cheeks. "Look at your faces, kids, hurry in NOW! Hurry RIGHT NOW!" she yelled, as the door slammed open.
Ron exclaimed as he noticed a crowd of kids with strawberry red hair, much like him and freckles! There are five boys and one girl.
"Incredible! Look at him—"
"—is he truly—"
"—Merlin, he reminded me of us."
When the small girl examined Ron, she sniffed. "Brother?" she exclaimed, "I have a new brother?" He noted their strange and interesting accents.
"You're not American, oh sure, you must be..." he asked of the young lady. "Ginny!" she exclaimed.
"You're an American, but wait—"
"—He's not American, Charlie." the other tall boy said as he approached him.
"It's the accent—"
When the tallest of them all hugged Ron, he was taken aback. "Bill, my name is Bill, and I'm your oldest brother." Bill broke into tears, and then someone hugged him again, It’s Ginny.
"Group hug!" shouted one of the twins.
"Group hug everyone!" exclaimed the other one, who hugged Ron as well—andhe couldn't breathe. "Wait a minute, guys, I can't breathe!" he cried.
Molly began to pull them away and yelled at them, only hugging the boy one at a time. They later introduced themselves, the oldest is Bill, the second is Charlie and then— Percy, who were just standing there, then the twins Fred and George (who he still doesn't know who the who), and the youngest one Ginny, and he have a small sister! He's no longer the youngest!
"Woah!" Ron said as he noticed the plates washing themselves. Plates are being prepared at the tables as Molly arranges the meals. "Now, all of you, have a seat," she says to them. Ginny wanted to sit next to him and led him closer. Charley was to his left. Molly stuffed his plate with food before the others.
"How long have we waited and hoped—"
"—Mum was devastated by what had happened—"
"Dad even cursed the Ministry—"
Ron merely smiled at them as they began to interrogate him about where he had gone up, what had happened to him, what was with the accent, and so on.
"I—" Ron can't answer the questions, he can't—he can't, because everything has come as a shock to him.
"I mean, I've always thought wizards were fiction and everything, and—I finally met my family full of wizards and witches and, that's a lot of information really...and I’ve had to deal with something yesterday and..."
"Oh you boys, stop asking him questions and eat your meal, oh Ronald, you want more, dear?" Molly asked as she added more sausages to his plate.
"Thank you, and yes, I've lived with another family before, if that's okay to talk about..." Ron turned to face Molly, who was now seated.
"Go ahead, dear," she nodded at him.
"Yeah, how should I begin? You knew California, right?"
So Ron began to describe his life in California, which they referred to as a muggle world. When he questioned what a muggle was, they told him it was a person born without magic.
"Oh, I thought it was no-majs," he corrected himself. "Only the Americans name it," Percy said, his ears perking up.
Ron stated that California is a place in the United States, which is why he spoke with such an accent. They asked a lot of questions, and the last part was about how he had just appeared. Molly sensed his hesitation and ordered Ron's siblings to stop asking questions and focus on eating breakfast.
Ron thanked Molly in whispered; he's still hesitant to address her as 'Mom.'—he really wanted to know what happened to Revius and to meet his adopted family again; he was concerned that he had simply vanished without them knowing. Percy, the only one who is quiet, was told to return Ron to his room. And afterwards allowing the rest of his siblings to tour him outside.
"Your room, which you had just woken up in, was your room," he simply added, "Thanks, uhm, Percy, brother—err. You seemed so quiet, sorry. I heard from uhm, Fred or George, you wanted to work at Ministry that is great, really."
Ron fiddled with his fingers before going inside, embarrassed, while Percy just lifted one eyebrow.
