The Suicide Squad Community

The Suicide Squad.

The nickname for a band of Quirkless Heros, antiheroes and vigilantes who burn up their own life energy to harness the Ki within them to stand equal with the Quirked.

Originally, much like their Saiyan visitors and the half bloods spawned from them, humans were able to safely tap Ki.
Those techniques have been long since lost with the devastation left on Earth in the wake of the trouble the Saiyans attracted to their small, blue ball and then the rise of Quirks and the manifest ability to cross breed with the other sentient species living on Earth.
Nowadays, those training to use it burned up their own life energy to do so and there was little in their life besides training and comradeship.

They weren’t monastic, exactly, but training was their first focus because unlocking ki took a certain level of both fitness and devotion.
Even then, if they were successful in unlocking it, individuals varied in the amount they were able to access and channel and even more in where their skill sets lay.

Some were able to act as support, buffering their more combat capable brethren to reinforce their bodies, block out outside influences, help them heal faster and so on, others were able to only heal and reinforce themselves become tanks, able to shrug off incredible amounts of damage, still others were able to fire off bursts of energy or create tools and weapons using ki or were able to tap ki from others or the world around them (these last were treasured and encouraged to have children as the children of the Ki active had an easier time going Active themselves and it took less of a toll as they had more resistance and were simply innately tougher. It was hoped that trait would breed true.) and an even rarer few could use Ki to heal or to assemble inventions.

The community remained small as, despite advances made, it was STILL burning up their life energy, or the energy of the world around them which, while it carried a smaller cost to channel, still burned a user out in the end.
It was only a matter of time.

Any children had could go one of two ways.

The first set gained a resistance to the drain and burn of Ki, making them more durable, stronger and tougher while the second lot became hypersensitive to Ki and couldn’t be around the Ki Active without it harming them.
Ki use also burned out any potential for a Quirk the user might have had. Most of the population had minor mutations, even if it was just a different hair, eye, skin or nail colour.
It had been theorized that the clash between becoming Ki Active and those latent, minor Quirks was what caused the burn out in the first gens who used it.

Second, third and the very rare fourth gens had less of these mutations and thus, burned out less quickly.

The government hated them as they went against what they were promoting and did it effectively and, because it wasn’t Quirk use, it wasn’t illegal.
The government figured that, since it was a suicide technique, they’d all die out sooner or later, since the Quirkless were becoming less and less.

It wasn’t working though.
The weakly Quirked, the invisibly Quirked, those with the minor mutation Quirks that no longer counted as Quirks and the genuinely Quirkless still stepped up because, if they were going to die anyway, they might as well die doing something useful…

Where found, the government did try to remove any children from them though and those kids generally ‘disappeared’ off to labs where they were tested to destruction, escape ‘enhancement’, used as guinea pigs.

That happened less often now as the Suicide Squad community cut all ties without outside and the use bleached hair, skin and eyes, changing even their genetic structure so, under new names, trainees and masters went out and did their thing, their children being scattered across specific group homes or with trusted family members.
Until the bleaching completed the change, Community members were masked and gloved, occasionally with Voice Changers to obscure their identities.
Some used Ki in small amounts to achieve effects while others used large, if energy burning, flashy techniques.

-0-

Midoriya Inko and her twin, Midoriya Nao, had a secret.

Several actually.

Their mother had been the user of a legacy Quirk and hadn’t known she was pregnant after the death of her husband and giving up her son, very foolishly, to the system.

A little after she’d found her protege and begun training him, she birthed her daughters asking her oldest friend to take them and place them somewhere safe.
She couldn’t make herself give up another child, so she begged him to take them, name them and make sure they were safe.

The orphanage they were given too, one of the few still going, was far out in a remote area and had some interesting legends attached.
Legends of people who sported a monkey like tail…though of course none had been seen in centuries.

Occasionally, children with light hair and eyes arrived there, stayed for a few years and disappeared again.

Inko and Nao grew up quietly, picking up some of the training these children got by osmosis almost.
Both girls had minor Quirks.
Inko’s allowed her to pull small objects towards her and Nao’s green, green hair allowed her to photosynthesize, meaning she mainly ate or drank for the flavour or if the weather was bad, basked in the sun where and whenever she could and healed slightly faster than normal.

Occasionally, both girls would experience bouts of enhanced strength when in stressful situations but the effects faded with the adrenaline so little was thought of it.

The two were very similar in appearance though they weren’t identical… so, when they married the same man, no one really knew as Nao was recorded as having left the country.
The two were near codependent, had attended class as each other and gotten their certifications as a single person with one remaining home and the other leaving.

Hisashi Midoriya, or Piman, a Saiyan descendant of Brolly’s line, the child having been created through science and stored samples as a backup incase Brolly proved uncontrollable, found Earth again and came to see.

Saiyans weren’t a popular people and the Poffle hybrids who escaped planet Vegeta’s destruction made sure to remove them where they found them.

There were only three of Brolly’s line left, as far as Piman knew.
The other two had paired off leaving the less combat happy Piman to go his own way. The other two were also descendants, third or fourth cousins and had in their heads they were going to resurrect the Saiyan race and way of life.

Piman knew better.

Earth was a legend and Piman had FOUND it.
Nope, he was going to stay lost with it.
Piman was, first and foremost, a scientist. And this discovery was HIS.

Nao and Inko had been called back to the group home as Hana and Tenko had been brought in and they were hoping they’d take them.

They didn’t just then, because the two needed time to adjust and to settle, though the two agreed to pay their way but they also ended up taking home the charming man with a tail who they’d found in the hills.

Piman had put his shuttle, made from scavenged tech and on its last legs, down where there were faint traces of Saiyan tech.
Native guides were nice. Very shapely and friendly native guides.

Nao had always been fascinated by the legends and now, there was one before them, tail and all. She couldn’t help herself. Of COURSE she slept with him and Inko didn’t want to be left out. She came to love him though.

Piman, now Hisashi according to his Nao finessed paperwork, was a restless, curious sort.

The two hadn’t wanted to tie him down but he kept coming back to them… and then the two fell pregnant and he didn’t want to trouble them.
They married him at a registry office and called it done.

Neither Nao or Inko were capable of functioning apart from each other.
Nao had a crippling fear of other people and Inko some seriously fierce social anxiety. The only way they could function outside was to play a role, one which they'd come up with together.
Nao and Inko at home were VERY different from the role they portrayed outside the house.

Neither had ever dated and so Piman’s arrival and discovery was jumped on.
Both knew they’d never get another chance like this and, even if it meant any children they had would be Quirkless, for a chance to be with an ACTUAL Saiyan, both felt it was worth it and then they came to like Hisashi for himself.

They shared everything together, physical pleasure included, which was reason B why they didn’t take Tenko or Hana.

They told the two children that privately.
They were NOT okay and the way they coped probably wouldn’t be a healthy way to raise a child, especially already abused, traumatized children, in.
They’d support them, pay their way and everything, but they couldn’t live with them safely.
If they ever had children, they would likely end up in that place too… and so they did.

‘Triplets’ Izuku, Izumi, Izuna (Inko bore Izuku and Izumi and Nao Izuna) a few weeks after their birth, the way paid by their bio mother, with flying visits from their bio father.
All three developed tails and were taken periodically by their birth father for testing and training.

AfO attacked when they were five or six and all three, plus several other children, awakened their Ki and attacked him back.

It was, fortunately, a full moon night and their sire was drawn by the alert and able to corral their rampages.

AfO retreated in disarray, though not before he took the Quirk he had ‘gifted’ Tenko with back.

Hana develops a mild energy Quirk based around storing and releasing Ki.

Tenko though, his Quirk Factor, even nascent as a ‘Quirkless’ - actually had a skin colour alteration, has been utterly ruined by AfO forcing a Quirk in and then ripping it out.

Tenko, Hana and the other Active children are gathered up and added to Hisashi’s training group. Saiyans needed others of their kind around or they didn’t do well.
The ancient practice of sending third classes out as infants had been very damaging both to the infants and to the planets they were sent too.

While his blood was diffused, despite different stolen samples having been used to create successive generations, Piman was the odd man out and so lonely. It was why he was so open to having kids despite the mothers being unstable.
If he could give his brats a ready made troup on a platter, why not…
AND teach them how to access Ki properly. What was this self destructive space junk?!

Izuku, at least, wants to be a HERO. His siblings plan to be a scientist like dad and to join the Community and teach them how to do it right…

Tenko essentially becomes Hana’s battery though it’s Tenko who ends up with One for All.

Hana is snatched by AfO until Uncle retrieves her, pirating the ‘good’ Doctor’s research and blowing shit to hell and gone on the way out before virusing the rest.

Hana, who was given into Kurogiri’s care, took him with her as well and Uncle takes the two with him back to his lab.
Hana has been seeded with something and Kurogiri is just fascinating, in a horrible way, all around. He’s a jigsaw puzzle of a person.

As Inko and Nao have worked out decently well, so Piman looks for similar types around the world, though he doesn’t marry them unless the country permits multiple wives… or shared partners. He’s acted as baby daddy to a few who couldn’t have kids for one reason or another though he does warn that the kid likely won’t get a Quirk.

Outside of his tail, his Quirk is listed as ‘aggressive dna’ meaning anyone he partners with to make a child will take after him and he’s Quirkless outside of that tail.
Some still feel it’s worth it for a child of their own.

Outside of his one night stands, he has nearly a score of ‘regulars’ that he visits when in the area, set up like Izuku and the other two are.

The Community is world wide and so are their safehouses and orphanage/ group homes.
What better way to get Ki operating again than to raise up the next generation.

All the women know there are others and so do the kids.

Soon his family will be hundreds strong and, the way he trains them, Ki will be cross compatible with at least weakly Quirked people.

The Quirked humans of Earth, even the supposed Quirkless, are tough and resiliant.
They may be able to handle a purer strain still, but he will have to wait and see.
He still has those samples from the time of ancestor Broli’s father.

Once he’s done on Earth, he might go and see if he can ‘seed’ another world.
Saiyan’s, even adulterated ones like him, have long lives if they aren’t killed and he enjoyed seeding a world much more than destroying it.

Let his cousins draw the attention while he goes around behind them all and seeds his race anew across the cosmos.
He can only hope to find another race as adaptable as these ‘Quirked’ humans.
