Your Quirk is...
He’d been mostly alone since he accepted that he would never achieve Knighthood and chose the exploratory arm of the Corps in the Jedi Order instead.
Honestly, he’d sort of fallen into it but he was well enough content even if he was alone most of the time. Well, alone except for the companionship and serenity of the Force.
Serenity that had dulled and dimmed, becoming more shrouded and tattered as time marched on. He’d desperately wanted to turn around, to go back and do something as more and more of the lights in the force that represented his order brothers/ sisters/ others disappeared but what little he was able to glean from meditation urged him on, away.
He had heeded and done his best to cling to that. To the will of the force even as the sense of it grew ever more tattered and distant.
It was no comfort when with a sudden shriek and a yearning, churning, sucking emptiness, most of those Jedi remaining winked out… just gone. Like that. It hurt, it hurt, it hurt it hurt it hurthurthurthurthurt!
As the force shrieked its agony and staggered, so did he.
He was insensible for days and near out of his mind for longer still.
He could barely bring himself to touch it, the Force was that badly wounded.
Instead of the comfort he’d gotten in the distant glows of his brothers, sisters and others, there was a vast, gaping emptiness, darkness, cold, pain. There was no comfort to be found there.
To his horror and dread, the conformation of what he’d felt came.
A scatter order.
One without even fall back coordinates. They were to run and keep running until they could find a world to set up on. To seek out other Force sensitive younglings to train.
To abandon the Core Worlds completely for those out as he was.
Just the thought of it hurt.
He was NOT to return.
There would be no gathering with others like him to mourn and celebrate the lives of the fallen and commend them back to the Force.
There would be no answers to his aching question of why?
There would be no comfort.
He was all alone in the universe, the few survivors like him running as he was.
He would likely never find out what had happened.
Distracted as he was he hadn’t been as careful as he might have been, should have been but with the wounded gaping in the force and the distressing, pressing solitude pressing on him from all sides he couldn’t focus.
The spatial anomaly seemed to spring out of nowhere and he was not fast enough… he did not remember his last moments.
He did remember coming back to himself as part of a new and different whole… and the sense of the Force was distant… hard to grasp.
His new self, it seemed, was far less force sensitive.
Even so, the Force welcomed him back, embracing him and while once more…or perhaps, not yet so damaged?
He was… unsure.
He didn’t even know where he was… or when.
Simply that he was likely far, far out in unknown space.
It had taken him some time to piece that together but his new self’s mind was a beautiful thing. It worked so quickly.
There was a tinge of anxiousness but his mind worked so rapidly. It never seemed to rest. Perhaps, if his new self learned the lessons the little ones learned in their creche clans, the serenity of the force could counterbalance that.
His new self’s mind worked so quickly that he tended towards verbalising in an attempt to slow it down long enough to copy his thoughts down…
His new self was very, very young.
No more than five or six and… mistreated?
Simply because his body hadn’t taken on a mutation adaptation that had been somehow triggered over most of the population?
Idly, he wondered if these other ‘Quirkless’ would also be force sensitive.
Rather than rescue people and try and fix all their problems for them, would it not be better to teach them how to solve their own problems as far as they could and work together for those they could not? That seems more sensible.
He felt the mind, main self?, of his new consciousness take that and run with it…
He’d never thought of taking a Padawan himself. That was reserved for the Knights and Masters but here was a young one in need of teaching and there was no other who could do so. What could he do but step up and give this young one what training he could?
His main self lived alone with his father, a distant but well meaning and hard working man and a female caretaker who was far more of a parent to him and more supportive.
Despite the attempts of bullying at school (there is only one sort of people on this world and they have NO knowledge of the greater galaxy. They haven’t even TRIED leaving their world, distracted by the sudden mutation and the rise of the individual abilities that have developed. He’ll, they’ll be the first. A moon base at the least.)
He, they, never got the chance.
They are barely ten when they are snatched and tossed into a cage/ cell with other kidnapped children. All of which or no Quirks.
Oh he does NOT like where this is going.
He doesn’t even need the promptings of the force to tell him that nothing good is going to come from this.
Despite his message to his caretaker, the Heroes and police arrive too late.
The batch of weak and Quirkless children are shoved through the activated portal.
Those with weak Quirks were hit hard. It didn’t kill them but they weren’t well either.
Worse, they had no food, no water and the air was hard to breathe.
It hit them hard too but that was because there was a large rush of the Force.
He recovered fast and he and a little green haired kid took charge.
The kid was nervy and terrified but he was also observant, intelligent and had a deep, driving desire to help.
The scared kids were willing to listen to anyone who seemed to know what they’re doing.
The former Jedi was able to decipher the runes on the walls as well as studying the device.
If he could work it out they could open it and go back.
They weren’t counting on a group of people in armor come busting in.
The curly haired greenette, Izuku, had the gaggle of seventeen odd other kids behind him while he stood behind Reinc.
Reinc stood and spoke very halting Galactic Basic. It wasn’t natural to him as it had been a language the Jedi, not his current reinc, spoke.
These were Mandalorians… old school Mandalorians.
This must have been before the schism and the holocost that shattered both their homeworld and their culture.
Perhaps… Perhaps this is why he was sent here.
Perhaps, if he could stop the fall of Mandalore he could keep the Jedi order from crumpling.
It would be a struggle as there was much he didn’t know but the serenity and clarity of the Force was back.
It was enough to bring him to tears.
If he could find his other self, they would not go to the Temple this time.
It was still possible to serve the will of the Force outside of the order, especially as he, they, already had the basics… though perhaps. Perhaps… they should give their other self a chance to choose.
Something most young Jedi didn’t really get.
From what he understood it was more, see/ feel Force sensitive child, acquire Force sensitive child for the Order…
With family permission or not.
The last Mand’alor was killed in a DeathWatch ambush on a frontier world.
Only… he hadn’t yet. If they could just tell him. Give him a chance to dodge that fate.
It might be enough. It might not but they wouldn’t know if they didn’t try.
These Mando’ade weren’t Deathwatch, thankfully (their idea of raising/training their young would have said young wishing they were slaves. It’d be safer.) and so there was a high chance that they would be taken in if not adopted outright.
None of them were older than seven or eight. Nine at the oldest.
They haltingly ask to speak to the Mand’alor.
In the meantime though, they ask that all of them be permitted to access mind healers.
Each and every one of them has trauma, thanks to the way their society is right now.
The Reinc explains the basics of Quirks, their importance and how they dictate how society treats a person in their home country. All of them are from the shafted end of society.
The entire gaggle is taken and examined and scattered around but they and the greenette keeps track of all of them. The boy, Izuku is a worrier and he’s had reason to be.
As someone who is genuinely Quirkless and with his muttering habit, he’d not been well treated at all.
As the only one who can speak in a language, however roughly, that can be understood, they became the groups mouthpiece while Izuku was their default spokesman.
He explains his ‘Quirk’ to the Healers. Past life memory… but it is more than that.
They are a they because all of the Jedi’s personality remains and interacts fully with his host self. They also explain how their Jedi self died and how they would very, very much like to avoid such again… for everyone.
Word is taken to the Mand’alor and they are allowed to speak to him.
The gaggle, with proper support and access to mind healing do well enough for themselves.
Three become medics, two become scouts, two others were force sensitive, four more are artisans, one wants to become an animal herder, one wants to become a slicer and the other three are just happy to be accepted and don’t care what they become.
Izuku, fascinated about EVERYTHING, becomes a strategist / historian.
His analysis and mind are tipping into overdrive… overload even.
Neither of the two force sensitives aren’t much stronger than their Jedi self.
He warns both of them that they probably won’t make Knight in the order but, if they want training, it’s probably a good idea so they don’t hurt anyone or themselves.
Then they can help teach others the basics too.
At fourteen odd they were snatched from a mission. They had always looked younger than they were and this group was very bold to try snatching young Mandalorians to ‘retrain’.
They looked twelve or thirteen.
They were able to take control of the ship, spacing all but the captain.
It was a horrible choice to make but… between the pirates and the children, they would choose the children every time.
It took a LOT of time with the healers to begin to work their way past that, even while leaning on the Force.
It took time to rebuild their confidence after that.
Six years later, all of them have assimilated.
The other two have gone to the Order, but not to join. They will learn enough so that they aren’t a danger and can defend themselves and then they will return.
With the information given the Mand’alor survives, if injured and down a limb and that changes things. Izuku and they are brought into his Clan.
They are a they because they are essentially two people now. It’s like being permanently possessed by a Force Ghost but with no down sides outside of a little personality overlap.
When news comes that the portal is active again, they and Izuku lead the group of eight in investigating and possibly returning to their homeworld.
Children should NOT be used as test dummies. Ever.
They will go back through the portal and take down those responsible.
Once they have control, those wishing to visit Earth can.
They want to return and build Earth into something better than the toxic mess it currently is.
He wants to lift humanity into space.
Izuku traveled with the young Force Sensitive as he wished to study the history of this empire and all the worlds. Diplomat/ historian.
It turns out the Portal travels through time AND space.
A bit of tweaking and they can return a few moments or days after they were dumped out.
The strike team is successful and from the other side they can alter things so that they can go and return and strike at those responsible for their kidnapping.
In a fitting vengeance, the top levels are sent through the portal a little after the group came back through. Even if they survive the journey, they’ll go straight into Madalorian justice.
They managed to intercept most of the kids on the way through though they’re all down with travel sickness and those with a Quirk will be hit roughly no matter what.
The children who were bought outright are given a choice.
They can stay here and try or they can go through and learn what Their group did.
Most choose to go through as, after they’ve mothballed and moved the Portal Generator, most of the young Mandalorians are going to go undercover.
Some are going to go back to their former families but others are going to enter the system since they’ve gone and snuck back through.
(They won’t interfere with the timeline until the day of the attack.)
They’re going to introduce Mandalorian culture or a variant of it and, when the time is right, turn mercenary group.
They and Izuku, who have had both Medic and Slicer training are going to become support techs but rather than cater to any particular Hero, they’re going to raise Earth’s tech level until they can reach space…
It’s revolting that they haven’t even explored their own Solar System yet.
The Portal Maker is, when they can, going to be relocated to the moon so they can restrict access and yet ‘go home’ whenever they feel a need to.
If feels wrong to be without Beskar'gam (the armor) now.
It’ll be a work of years but a pod is built in the meantime to send a location beacon.
It’ll take up position at the edge of the solar system, among the ice asteroid belt there.
The frequency will require someone to be both Jedi AND Mandalorian to detect.
There are tentative ovatures between the Mandalorians and the Jedi.
The Mand’alor Jereel had struggled but come out on top in the end AND signed a peace treaty with the Republic.
Two more Force Sensitive children had been found and WERE strong enough in the Force to be willing to go to the Jedi as Initiates.
Being of lesser lines helped there giving their Clans a bit of a boost.
Both were retaining their Heritage though. (Anti Jedi planets such as Stewjon were monitored for what younglings they could save.)
The younger self has been found as well and given a choice.
They are actually of Mandalorian blood, though not of any particularly noteworthy line.
The Earthlings happily pull them into their little subgroup and they were much happier as Mando’ade. They had clicked with young Pre of the former Deathwatch. He was also Force Sensitive and they were happy to teach him.
Rather than make a big fuss, those on Earth went quietly back to families, those who had them and switched to online schooling. As they are all older than they were when they were snatched, each withdraws from the public school system for online schooling.
They gathered to train every other day in various places.
Each still wore Vambraces at the very least.
Izuku’s mother had a nervous breakdown and is currently in hospital.
He takes up living in their flat and visits her when he can.
She’s slowly getting better but it will take time.
That is fine.
He does some slicing to ensure the flat payments continue as well as paying for his mother’s care. He and those whose homes were not so accepting live out of the flat and the other three empty ones nearby.
A warehouse is bought and converted to training and living space.
Each of them end up bringing in new Ade as they are technically adults in Mandalorian culture and adults in Japan at twelve (the Quirkless ones anyway) so if they want to buy, sell, handle their own affairs and so on, it’s legal.
Sketchy as hell, but legal.
Some of the new younglings end up going off world to Mandalor but most want to stay on world to develop it. The new Clans will need people in all walks of life.
Despite being as Force Sensitive as a rock, Izuku forms a Bond with Pre of the former Death Watch. The Force showed visions of Izuku and Izuku dreamed of Pre.
Despite the fact that Pre was in Force damping cuffs and the side effects they brought.
Pre agreed to go to the Jedi in order to train his abilities but he will not be Jedi.
He has a Force given Mate waiting.
While he is in training, Izuku is back on Earth, setting things up there.
Izuku at least returns regularly.
He and Pre are VERY tightly bonded and being away from each other for too long is borderline painful to them. He was even willing to follow his Bonded back to his homeworld.
Even away from Earth, the Quirk factor carries over into new children.
