it was a full moon this night, the 4 boys were sitting, or in Sirius’s case; laying, on the beach. watching the bright source of light in a dark sky full of stars.

“James, i’m sorry if your birthday was boring, or something, mate.”

“what? it was great. i wouldn’t have want to spend it any other way.”

“‘kay.”

Remus sat up on his shoulders, pointing at the sky.

“hey, isn’t that your star, Sirius?” he said, pointing at a certain star, looking at Sirius, who nodded.

“yea, that’s me,” he pointed at another star, a little more left. “that one right there is my brother, Regulus.” then he pointed at another one, way more to the right. “and that’s my cousin, andromeda; she’s a constellation, though.”

Remus nodded, he had always liked astrology, therefore he always liked that Sirius’s entire family, had names that had something to do with it.

“cool.”

Remus looked to his side to see that Pete had already fallen asleep, it was pretty late already, and since they had been up since really early; he could understand it. James eventually stood up.

“come on folks, i think its better we leave now, before we all fall asleep here.” James held his hand out for Sirius to grab, which he did. Remus waked Pete and helped him get up as well.

“please, please make sure i don’t fall asleep on this five minute drive.” Remus said to James, who nodded.

not a lot later they arrived at the hotel, Sirius insisted on listening to music the entire time, but James said they couldn’t, mainly because Pete was already asleep.

the hotel wasn’t far at all, they arrived pretty fast, they grabbed their luggage, and made their way inside; where there was an elderly lady sitting behind the check in counter.

“good,” she looked at her watch. “good morning. Welcome to ‘weasels, for one and for all’ hotel. how can i help you?”

James handed his luggage to Remus as he talked to the lady, handed her some money and walked back to them. with two keys.

“listen pals, there were two rooms left, so we need to split up. don’t worry, we’ve got two beds each room.” James said. it’s not like they minded, after all they shared a room at school, so they were used to it.

“except i’d like to sleep tonight, i know that’s not going to happen when i’m with our favorite pads, so i’d like to go with either Moony or Pete.” James said, Sirius was about to interrupt him, as he started again. “no arguing, it was my birthday an hour ago.”

“well i want to still have fun, and since Pete looks like he’s about to fall asleep any second now.” Sirius looked at Remus and started speaking again, “Moony is fun, sometimes. that’s it; me and Moony and James and Pete.”

Remus laughed and grabbed one of the keys from James. “sorry mate, you still gotta carry your own stuff.” James gave him a fake laugh as he walked away, making sure Pete wasn’t falling asleep and handing his luggage to him.

the room was quite big, it had, like James had said, two beds, it also had a fairly big bathroom and a desk, a small television and a dresser.

“you wanna change first? i’ll wait in here.” Sirius said, as he took place on one of the beds, starting to unpack things he would need in the morning, and maybe now too.

Remus nodded and walked into the bathroom to change. He washed his hands and grabbed the sweatpants and the shirt he always wore as pyjama’s. after he was done changing, he brushed his teeth and ran a hand through his hair, which was sticking up on all sides by now.

he walked out of the bedroom, only to be greeted by Sirius, who seemed to be drawing in his sketchbook.

“what are you working on?” Remus asked him, taking place next to him, looking over his shoulder. he wasn’t really drawing anything in particular, just practicing some facial features and expressions.

“that looks really good.”

“thanks, i’m just so bloody bored; the tellie won’t even turn on.”

“the bathroom is free, by the way.”

“okay.”

about a half an hour later, Sirius came back from the bathroom; his hair wet and his neck tattoos showing in the V-neck shirt he was wearing. Remus looked up from his book, and gave him a small smile, which was almost immediately returned by the other boy.

“i’m sorry.”

Remus went quiet for a second, then turned his head to the boy in the bed next to him.

“for what?”

“being such a dick to you guys. you don’t deserve that.”

“Sirius.” Remus started, making the black haired boy turn to him, “you’re not being a dick. and even if you would be, that’s okay! you don’t need to be perfect all the time.”

Sirius started laughing quietly after that, and raised his brows. “‘perfect all the time’? well, well, well Moony.” Remus was laughing now too, shaking his head.

“t-that’s not what i meant, you know, you know what i meant!”

“that’s what you say. it’s okay Moony, i know i’m all great and perfect; thanks for the reassurance.”

Remus was full on red at this point, but he was still laughing; Sirius too, and his mood that had been at it’s lowest just a couple of seconds ago, now seemed to be getting lots better already.

“i miss snivellus.” Sirius randomly said, making Remus choke on his water.

“pardon me?”

“it’s been less than a day and i already miss annoying him.” Sirius said, laughing at his own statement.

“never thought i’d say it, but me too.”

the boys turned their heads to one another and start laughing harder than ever.

“wake up! breakfast!” James yelled as he kept knocking on the door of Remus and Sirius’s room.

Remus slowly sat up and looked straight ahead of him for a solid minute, he then looked to his side and saw Sirius with his pillow over his head and the blankets all the way over his head, as well.

he stood up and made his way to the door, putting on some socks, and attempting to quickly fix his hair before he opened it, being immediately greeted with a happily smiling James, who was already fully dressed, and had his hair done.

“go. away.”

Remus knew he could never be mad at James, James was one of those people; his energy had something in it, that just made it impossible to get mad at him.

“no,” he said, as he walked into their room, clapping his hands. “come on! wakey wakey, pads!” and he walked towards Sirius’s bed, attempting to pull the covers away, but Sirius was faster and threw one of his pillows at him.

fifty minutes later, they were all sitting in the dining hall of the hotel, eating their breakfast. there weren’t a lot of people there, there was a family with two kids sitting a couple of tables away from them. the parents, who were continually shooting weird looks at the boys, especially Sirius; who looked like one of those rockstars you’d hear some of those stories about; messy hair, which came until his shoulders, tattoos, eyeliner around his grey eyes, his hands full of rings; aka, he looked like someone the parents didn’t want their kids to be ‘influenced’ by. Remus thought he looked bloody cool, though.

the man suddenly stood up, and walked towards the boy’s’ table. Remus looked at Pete real quick, who was sitting across of him; who raised his shoulders and turned his head back to the man.

“boy, i’m sorry to bother you, but,” he started, while looking at Sirius. “this is a family hotel.” this made Sirius look at him in confusion.

“okay? what’s the issue?”

“your… your clothes. don’t you think they promote criminality? you see, i have young children; we try so hard to keep them away from people who,” the man stopped, seemingly looking for the right words. “people who want to push a certain… lifestyle! on others.”

Remus looked at the man with furrowed eyebrows, he then looked at James; who was biting his lip, trying not to laugh.

“well, sir, what if i told you, i don’t like the lifestyle you’re promoting, either?” Sirius said, James looked like his lip was about to bleed.

“pardon me, boy?”

Sirius sighed. “your lifestyle; it’s insulting. what makes you think i want to see your, boring ass life? all you do is probably read the paper, take the kids to school, go to work, go back home, have dinner and go to bed. at least i have funin life.”

the man now appeared to stunned to speak, he attempted to talk back, but Sirius just ‘smiled’ at him, making him turn back to his own table; whispering something to his wife, who then looked in disappointment at the boys, making James give them a little wave, and burst out in laughter not much later.
