Attack on the General

Alexander looked dumbfoundedly at the angered sun summoner in front of him, who shielded Miss Cherniak behind her.

From him.

Saints, what did he do to deserve this hostile treatment. And from out of nowhere,  as well?!

Was the girl unwell?

Did he say something wrong?

Well whatever the girl thought he said, maybe he should have worded it better to the girl.

Because clearly, she's accusing him of something sinister at the moment.

And then she made his guard faint…

Which, to be honest, took him quite by surprise,  seeing as she only just found out about her powers. But well he would leave that thought for a later time.

'If there will be a later time, that is…' Was the cynical thought that flew in his mind.

But never mind that thought,  because it was wrong. The girl had no control over her power…yet. So he could handle her.

And now she’s…

She  bared her ….teeth at him.

Alexander was once more  confused, but then he saw her raise her hands before her as well.

Oh.

He then widened his eyes at the sight, she wouldn’t.

He was only trying to settle them in, like a good host would…

And then he saw  light faintly gleaming from within her palms.

He was then truly alarmed.

This wasn't happening right now, right?

While he could put a stop to this…whatever this is…Why wasn’t she doing anything to stop the (suddenly) mad girl?!

He then tried to make eye contact with the woman behind the sun summoner in alarm.

Still amazed because of what Alina did, while she was confused on why it happened,  she was still proud of her girl,

'She used her power, and made someone faint! Bloody amazing that. But still, that poor guard…but never mind that, focus Valeria, focus, now is not the time.' She then sternly thought to herself.

She then looked back at the sight in front of her, and she didn't know how to react to it…

Did Alina just bare her teeth at the man?

When she had told them about some random facts throughout the years, to make them laugh, this was not what she was expecting from it.

Alina really took it to heart, ay?

By baring one's teeth, especially by primates, like Chimpanzees, it is a sign of anger and aggression.

But also fear in some cases, but that of course had nothing to do with the situation at hand.

Because Alina was the furthest from afraid, she looked quite murderous right now. And coming from her sweet, and quite adorable  friend…

She didn't know if she wanted to laugh or cry at the sight.

It was just so…

Finally realising what her friend was going to do, to the General, nonetheless. And also after the man gave her a pleading look, which Valeria did not know how to react to, because frankly that man's eyes…Which she  then immediately shook the thought away from her mind, she then intervened, and immediately put a stop to what Alina was going to do (which she still had no clue on what brought this on…), by holding both of her hands within hers.

Making her power retreat, and calm her down.

She then turned Alina around  to face her.

She looked at the girl in shock, but mostly in concern.

For this wasn't how her friend normally behaved.

The girl looked angrily back at her,

"Why did you stop me, Ria. We need to get away from HIM."

Valeria was once more shocked at the sudden turn of events.

‘Did she not say that she wanted to learn from them, why the sudden change of mind?’

And in such a violent manner, which Valeria would totally back up, if she knew why her friend was reacting in such a manner.

She had to have a good reason, right?

She knew the man was strange, but to raise such a reaction from her?

What in Merlin's name…

What is going on?

"Alina, will you first tell me why you want to get rid of him, did he do something (out of the obvious,  what with him being a very strange man and all)?" She trailed,  and  then noticed  the wild eyed look  on  her friend’s face, and caressed cheek to comfort the girl.

With the both of them ignoring the man behind them, who made a sudden noise in affront.

"Tell me, I'll make it right, whatever trouble you're facing at the moment." She softly whispered to the younger girl, her eyes intently gazing into Alina’s finally calm ones. With the girl taking a hold of the hands that are on her cheeks, in comfort.

Valeria’s expression then darkened, "Did he do something to you, Lina?”  Without me knowing?

And that thought made her angry, angry at herself, if it were true, because all she had ever wanted to do here was protect them from those that would harm them.

And if it were true, and if she truly had failed them. Alina…

And without waiting for the younger girl's reply, she then set her sights on the man behind them.

Her gaze dangerously gleaming at the man.

"What did you do, Kirigan?"

The man looked startled at her, his eyes widening at the sight of her anger.

And the way her magic  engulfed  him in a sudden hold.

He felt intoxicated. But mostly, he also felt constricted for some reason…

He could not move his limbs.

While he would have enjoyed it on any other day (if she was the one putting him in this state of course…), he had to ignore it for now, because surely this wasn't happening to him right now.

Right?

What did he do?!

First the Sun summoner looked at him as though he were the filth beneath her feet.

Which was rude, seeing as he did nothing to her.

And now she was looking at him in such a manner.

WHAT DID HE DO?!

He then tried to placate the woman,

"I'm sure this is all just a misunderstanding,  let's all just relax for a moment and talk? I find that communication is key in these sorts of situations. Let's all just calm down for a moment, and talk it through?" Please.

But he then felt the ground vibrate beneath his feet.

‘Ooh.’ He thought while his eyes widened at the angered woman in front of him.

"What did you do to her."

Why was this happening to him?

Saints save him.

“I did not do anything, for saints sake, Miss Cherniak, you’re friend might have misunderstood something or the other, maybe I said something wrong before all of this, or such, which I can’t remember anymore, but what I do know, is that I am innocent of the crime the both of you are insinuating!” He blared.

‘Alright, while I did admit to myself that I would gladly die by her hand, I didn’t mean it that quickly, I had  wanted to experience some things first, until that moment would finally come, for saints sake!’ He thought in alarm. His eyes then flickered to her angered gaze, and then the alarm quickly changed into awe at the sight of her.

She looked like an avenging goddess at the moment.

And then another thought came to the foreground of his mind, finishing his last thought.

'With her.'  He thought, not noticing how his  power somehow flowed through the hold she had on him, and  then  entwined with hers.

She then  stopped her vengeful stride towards him, and he then felt the feeling in his limbs slowly return to him.

‘I’m free, and still in one piece.’ He then realised in surprise.

But then he suddenly felt her stand a hair's breadth away from him, but the first thing he noticed was her intoxicating smell…

But before he could get hooked on her smell, she made him turn his gaze to hers.

“Eyes up, Kirigan.”

And then she gazed at him for what felt like a century to him, but was in reality just a heartbeat.

“You’re not lying. My apologies.” She then said and turned to the sun summoner behind her.

And Alexander was amazed at what just happened.

‘Did I mishear, or did she just apologise to me? ’

Coming closer to Alina, she then whispered to the girl,

“While I said I wouldn't, I looked for certainty sake into the man’s mind,” What she isn’t saying is that she believed him even before checking with the help legilimency.

She couldn’t explain why she knew, but she did nonetheless.

Which she will look into later on...

“He did tell us the truth.”

Alina, who had  already calmed down, then looked into Valeria’s eyes with a serious expression.

“Alright…But, I still don’t like the way he looks at you, like  he wants something from you.Be careful with that man, Ria. Don’t let him try anything with you.”

Valeria was amused but also felt heartened by her friend’s concern of her

“I promise you Lina, that I won’t let him do anything to me. And even if he tried to, do you really  think I would let him? Puh-lease, he can dream on.” She said in the end with a wink to the girl, to make her relax.

Pacified, Alina then nodded.

“Alright.” And then she looked at the passed out guard next to her in realisation and  guilt, “Did I do that?”

Here Valeria then finally laughed.

Sometime later after she had said her goodbyes to Alina, who finally retreated to her room with the help of the once unconscious guard, who Valeria had turned back to fully consciousness, also healing him of any injuries he might have sustained…To which Alina fervently apologised to, to the man.

“Lead the way, I assume you want to have a word with me about something?” She then drawled to the man in front of her, who seemed to be frozen for some time now, his gaze filled in wonder. Which again, Valeria did not want to  know what it was about.

She wanted to have her answers, see where he stands in all of this (and decide from there what she will do), and finally go back to Alina, who she shares the suite with, she gathered…and if it wasn’t …well she’ll have a word with the man about it.

And he then got out of it after noticing her awaiting stare.

And he then decided to stare back at her for some time after, until he finally spoke.

Oh, right. Well, yes. I do want to talk to you, we need to have a discussion, Miss Cherniak. I thought a walk would be nice, if you aren’t adverse to it?” He asked, and when he saw her shake her head, he then smiled, “Now, if  you will follow me?” He then offered his arm to her, which she surprisingly put her hand in, after some deliberation.
