The note the owl left him said he had five minutes to get to the old club hut. He had never hurried so fast in his life.
Scorpius ran down the halls , not paying the portraits any mind. Sprinting down his manor's estate , he approached the shabby hut. He didn’t give himself a chance to catch his breath, he ripped the door open and made his way to the meeting place.
“Wow you actually made it , forty seconds to spare. Albus you were right - he is fast.”
Scorpius was confused , why was Teddy here . In fact in the room sat Albus , James and Roxanne .
Standing in the front was Teddy and Victoire .
“There there , calm your face . Or else it will get stuck that way .” Teddy quipped . He walked over and threw a arm around his shoulder walking him upfront.”Albus here says you’re worthy to join us .”
“Worthy ? Join ?” Scorpius asked .
“Mhmm he says you’re trust worthy. I had my doubts since you are Malfoy.”
“Granger-Malfoy.” He interrupted .
Teddy rolled his eyes , “Still a Malfoy nonetheless. But my boy Albus here insists you’re worthy. Even offered to take a blood oath to prove you’re honorable.”
Scorpius chuckled at his best friends loyalty.
“But why ? What is all of this? Why did you call me here?”
Letting his arm drop , Teddy walked over to the small table in the corner .
Coming back with a scroll in one hand and quill in another , he held it out for Scorpius to take.
“To be one of us tonight . And possibly forever if you want .”
“You’ll want it to be forever.” Victoire crooned.
Unrolling the scroll Scorpius saw a list of rules of some sort , and names at the bottom .
“So like a club ? But who are these people?”
“Merlin you ask so many questions.” James said .
“Rude . So rude .” Roxanne said while hitting James with her elbow .
“Ignore them . We all do .” Albus told his friend .Standing up to point at the scroll he explained , “Yes it’s a club , and those names are our code names. If you agree to join you’ll get to pick one too . See this is me . ‘Fawkes’.”
“Im Moonling.” Teddy smirked.
“Im Paddy.” James announced .
“Im Nixie.” Victorie sang.
“And I’m Six.” Roxanne said brightly.
“Six?” He had a general idea for their names but not Roxanne’s .
“Yep , it was my Uncle Fred’s quidditch number.”
Scorpius gave her a small smile . He’s only ever heard great things about him .
“And it’s really okay if I join?”
“Yes we definitely wouldn’t have offered it if it wasn’t.”
Reading over the rules several times , Scorpius debated with himself. This would be the way to make more friends. Besides Albus and James , he only knew the others from events.
And the rules were simple to follow , he knew the only reason behind them was because what happened to the original members…
He could do this . He could show them that he was a great friend that valued people that were close to him. Of course he couldn’t tell his parents… but he imagined their faces finding out he was apart of a club with some of the greats.
Proud … possibly concerned.
He let out a small laugh .
“I’ll sign.”
“That didn’t take much convincing, I was sure I was going to have to bust out the map to get you to sign.” Teddy strolled over to him. “You’ll have to use a code name . Do you have one?”
“Definitely. It’s someone’s nickname that’s close to me. I’ll represent it well for him .”
Signing his name , the group gave a cheer .
Teddy put his hand on his shoulder .
“Welcome to the Marauders , Dragon.”
