Summary
This story carries on from headphones and skates. Although there is an element of self harm it isn't done in a self harming way.I had such a good time writing the original but kept thinking about their life after. This is what I see happeningLinked below please enjoy the original text linked here. I don't seem to be able to add a link to it but if you copy and paste, that should work https://archiveofourown.org/works/39050436

The two were now married, Severus had asked in the least romantic way possible, when they both had ended up with food poisoning. They had gone to a restaurant and long story short the food wasn't up to par. Severus was lay in the bath with the shower on trying to hide the sounds of his vomiting, Harry was sat on the loo with his head in the sink, holding a bottle of mint shower gel that smelled nicer than the current smells of the bathroom. The older man pulled himself up with effort so he could see Harry "if we survived this, will you marry me?"

There wedding had been a more romantic situation, Luna had sung the song that she'd sang, when she'd gone into the potion master's living quarters, as the two had their first dance. McGonagall had walked Harry down the aisle, she was one of the few people who new how Severus had proposed, in a way it was perfect he was seeing Harry at his worst and still wanted nothing else.

Harry and Severus now had new jobs Severus was now the proud owner of the only ice rink in hogsmead, and Harry was working for the ministry. The officials were use to seeing Harry wearing his headphones on a bad day, and no one asked any questions. A few times one of Harry's co-workers would bring the headphones. The one's Harry worked closely with could see when the dark haired man was going back to the bad times.

When Harry had first started he had tried to hide it, thinking that they wouldn't want him if they knew about his baggage. He'd hidden it well for a few months using his breathing exercises but physically it was exhausting when certain things could bring it all back. Severus would often get home to find Harry passed out. Exhausted from keeping it all together

It all came to a head when he'd been asked to get a prophecy from the department of mysteries it all came flooding back, and he hid. Harry's co-workers hadn't seen him in awhile, one of his co-workers found him in a small cupboard near the department. He was curled up as small as possible shaking in floods of tears, his hands over his ears, his arms and legs were bleeding profusely from where he'd scratched and bitten them trying to bring himself back. The moment the cupboard was opened the dark haired man had started blindly throwing hex's terrified. The cupboard wasn't helping as it took him back to his time living with the dursley's, but it felt marginally better than the alternative. The only word Harry's co-workers they could make out was Severus in all the reams of parseltongue.

The older man had shut the rink and apparate home grabbing the music player. He arrived at the ministry and was taken to Harry who was still hidden in the cupboard. There was blood everywhere, even Severus was shocked at the state his husband was in, but he steadied himself. The moment the older man tried to get closer his terrified husband threw any defensive spell and hex's he could think of in parseltongue blindly lost in fear, Severus kept throwing up deflective charms until he got to Harry wrapping his arms around him. As Harry calmed down, Severus had done a quick clean up charm had carried him out of the small cupboard, all the while threatening anyone who he deemed to be gawking at them. After that it was just a normal thing Harry wearing his headphones. Severus had threatened to hex anyone who mentioned what he called Harry's little blip.

Severus now had his new job that he loved he'd called the place Bella Blades, he'd been worried about the name but it seemed cathartic somehow. Sometimes he would take to the ice dancing in time to the music, all the patrons would watch as the tall man would dance, he seemed weightless as he danced his dark green cloak giving the appearance of wings. Like Harry the older man liked how music made him feel free. The ice rink was always packed.

Harry had somehow got his hands on some Muggle arcade games, and a vending machine. The older man had thought Harry was mental buying the vending machine as they were a stones throw from honeydukes, Harry had laughed "I'm not stocking it with wizarding sweets, I'm stocking it with Muggle snacks and drinks, many of the wizarding world have never tried Muggle snacks and drinks" it was a huge hit.

Severus was also teaching Harry how to dance on ice so that they could dance together. The older man had only ever danced on ice with one other person, and he wanted to have memories of dancing with Harry on ice. Everyday with his little prince was now the best day ever, he didn't know how he'd been so lucky. He was an Ex death eater but every night he'd sleep with his husband in his arms, it still felt weird to say husband.

All that mattered was that they were together.
