Pokemon Trainer Luz on the Boiling Isle
Luz hasn't gone on a journey, instead going to a local school to further her education first. She has caught a few pokemon, and has a preference for fairy, ghost, and dark type pokemon, but will catch any she likes. Her starter is an Oshawott, which she has nicknamed Oshy. Oshy is a very excitable pokemon, but lacked a lot of self confidence when Luz chose him because all the trainers would keep on passing him up in favor of Snivy and Tepig. Luz helps him work through this, and he becomes a capable battler. He knows Razor Shell, Water Pulse, Fury Cutter, and Sword Dance. It will evolve into a Dewott in her battle with Amity, giving her the win. Her next pokemon is a Sandile, which she has nicknamed Chomper. She found this one when he tore into her bag because he smelled the food her mom had made her. Instead of getting angry, she shared it with him, and after a quick battle with Oshy he joined her team. He knows Dig, Bite, Bulldoze, and Rock Tomb. Her most recent catch is a Mimikyu, which she has nicknamed Boo. She is a very shy pokemon, and Luz found her at school in the middle of a crowd where the other kids were making fun of her with their pokemon. She helped her get away after having Chomper and Oshy get rid of the crowd of kids, but Boo's disguise got ripped, so Luz went to her mom and with her help she sewed a new, better one. Seeing both her kindness and loneliness, Boo decided to stay with her. She knows Play Rough, Shadow Claw, Hidden Power, and Thunderbolt. The incident with Boo is one of ones that end up getting her sent to camp. The other incidents mainly involve her bringing wild pokemon to school and them causing chaos.
On the Isle, pokemon are extremely rare, and as such only the rich and influential have them, and almost always only have one. They also don’t really know pokemon moves that well. Because Pokemon are so rare, people who do have one are greatly respected, and in school they are admired by those that don't. Eda is one of the few exceptions to the norm of witches only having one pokemon, as she has access to the human realm. She has a Sableye, a Shiney Leavanny, and Thievul.
All the Blights have pokemon. Edric and Emira have a pair of Meowstics which are male and female respectively. Alador has a Golurk, and Odalia has a Banette. Lilith also has a pokemon, given to her when she became head of the emperor’s coven, and it is a Corviknight. Boscha and Skara also have pokemon, a Pasimian and a Kricketune respectively. Others with pokemon include the coven heads, Belos, and Hunter.
Amity has a shiny Braixen, which she secretly named Moria, or Mory. She knows Flamethrower, Psyshock, and Magic Coat. Later, when training with Luz after they become friends, it will learn Fire Pledge.
Luz will help Willow and Gus get their own pokemon. Willow will get a Phantump and a Roselia, named Anito and Ivy respectively. Gus will get a Girafarig and a Rotom, named Trixy and Gizmo. Having two pokemon will wildly boost their popularity.
In covention, instead of a witch’s duel Luz will challenge Amity to a pokemon battle. She’ll agree, and it will be between Luz’s Oshy and Amity’s Moria. Lilith will secretly place a power glyph on Mory’s neck, boosting her power. She will almost beat Oshy, but Luz’s confidence in him will give Oshy newfound determination, and he will evolve into a Dewott, learning Surf in the process in favor of Water Pulse. This will allow them to defeat Moria and Amity, and while Luz is proud at first, when she sees Amity run of crying she will chase after her. There she explains about how she’s used to battling, as it is very common in the human realm, while Amity struggled to even know what moves Moria had and what they do. When they find the power glyph Luz promises not to tell anyone.
Later Luz will catch a Shiny Hisuian Zorua on the Isle when she visits the Knee with Amity, and name it Alma. It will take her some time to befriend Alma, as she is wary of people, but eventually Luz will gain her trust with the help of her pokemon. Amity will also get a second pokemon there, a Froslass, which she will name Yuki. Alma knows Will-O-Wisp, Dream eater, Hex, and Ice Beam. Yuki knows Hypnosis, Frost Breath, Freeze Dry, and Night Shade.
When Luz starts at Hexide she is almost instantly the most popular kid in school because she has four pokemon. Plus her knowledge about them means everyone wants to ask her more about them.
After Grom, Luz will bring Amity to the human realm and help her catch a third pokemon, an Eevee, which she’ll name Felicita. Later, once she stands up to her mom, it will evolve into a Sylveon.
When Dewott evolves into a Samurott, it will learn Sacred Sword in place of Fury Cutter.
Vee will get pokemon in the human realm, namely a Ditto, a Zorua, and a Soble. Her Zorua is actually the twin sister of Luz's Zorua Alma. The story is that the two were separated in a storm, and Alma got sucked into the boiling isle and became a hisuian variant. The two will be thrilled when they reunite.
