Great, glad we got that out of the way! But how do you know if you can trust the things I put in here? I am, after all, just a fanfic writer that you bumped into during your regularly scheduled AO3 scrolling. The short answer I guess is that you shouldn't implicitly trust anyone on the internet, but I will do my best to not go full Just Trust Me Bro and will always try to link reputable websites for the information cited. I will also link Twitter threads, which may include more up-to-date information. There are no embedded images in this document and the links I include will not be hyperlinked (copy and paste them instead.) I am not a lawyer, and the information contained within this document is not legal advice.
Why am I posting this on AO3? Well, AO3 is firmly committed to anti-censorship, and it is also a place where a broad range of people congregate to consume fanfic. I think this format may reach some people who are not being served by regular channels of reproductive rights communication. I also think that this does not look like a suspicious website to authorities who may be trying to find evidence against someone who has sought an abortion. The title has been left intentionally vague so that there are no obvious keywords when viewed through a browser history window.
Please read the chapters in order, as they each contain important information. The subject of Chapter 2– Digital Security– is especially important right now. Please protect yourself by reading tips on how to keep your search history and location data private. Many of the links that I have included in this fic could potentially be used as evidence against you if you are prosecuted for seeking an abortion. Read chapter 2 to learn how to protect your search history before copying-and-pasting them into your browser.
This is intended to be a living document, and I may edit or add material as the situation changes or I become aware of additional resources. I will always include a Last edited date at the bottom of each chapter.
