Y/N Black was no stranger to the life of danger. At only 17 she and her twin Regulus were already death eaters and salazar knows neither of them wanted it but what were they supposed to do? Sirius had left them alone with no options except to comply to everything Walburga asked of them. Including selling their souls to the devil. She had admired her older brother from afar. He seemed happy and content with his little boy band of friends. James, the nice one, Peter the quiet one and Remus the absloultey georgous brainiac. Yes, she liked Remus but he was half-blood and a werewolf at that so if her parents even thought she was in love with him they would have crucioed her where she stood. But she wasn't scared about what they would do to her, she was scared about what they would do to him. Her and Regulus already had to listen to their parents talking bout how Sirius was a terrible person and how the marauders corrupted him. It was hard to listen to, every dinner, every family gathering. Every day they were told about how terrible their brother was and yet they both still loved him.

The Dark mark was like an allergic reaction that never went away. it itched and burned and the more she rubbed and scratched the worse it felt. The sooner that you accepted the mark the soomer it felt better but how are you supposed to accept that you're a part of a terrible group of people? Well Y/N doesn't have the answer for you.
A simple cooling spell managed to do the trick for a couple of hours but after that it felt like a red hot poker was being dragged up and down her forearm. To hide the mark they were all forced to wear long sleeves or a beauty spell which felt like hell, even in the summer. The only other person that Y/N knew to wear long sleeves in the summer was Remus Lupin and she knew that he was not a death eater so why? That's another question she didn't have the answer for.

She wasn't dumb by any means. She was the top of her class and Regulus was right after her. She just didn't know something. Like why she hadn't run away with Sirius, why Remus Lupin was extremely handsome and nice, why she took the mark and why couldn't she just tell him. Y/N always looked for Sirius' approval when they were kids and now subconsciously still does it. She looks for his reaction during the academic awards, his smile when she beats someone in dueling and the look that he used to give her when she would paint him a picture when they were little. It was easy to pretend that everything was fine and dandy when it really wasn't.

It hurt. It seems the mark hurts more when you question it. Knowing Lord Voldemort it probably did. All day it burned and itched to the point where she had itched it raw. Angry red marks covered her arm and streaks of blood flowed down to the astronomy tower's floor. She was very tempted to just cut it off. She had been up for almost 36 hours at this point. She had a big test in potions next week that was worth 50% of her grade and Mcgonnagal was getting very antsy waiting for her transfiguration project to be done. Stress had taken over her body and there was no stopping it now. Muttering a numbing spell for the hundredth time that night she sighed at the instant relief that fled her body. The spells were only lasting 10 minutes each and that was not enough time.

Remus Lupin was finishing his perfect rounds and decided to wander up the astronomy tower for his final check. As he was walking up the stairs he heard a noise. It sounded like someone was crying and whimpering, and not in a good way. He walked up the final steps and saw no other than his best friend's sister sitting on the ground looking a mess.

He always thought that Y/N was cute. That must've run in the family. Her black hair and equally dark eyes had drawn him in. She was beautiful and smart. Her grades challenged his and lilys and all of the professors liked her just as much. She didn't hang out with the other slytherins much and most of the time he found her curled up with a book in the library. She wasn't loud like Sirius or closed off like regulus. In his opinion she was perfect. Seeing her in ruins on the ground was heartbreaking. He approached her carefully.
"Y/N...." He whispered not wanting to startle her.
"Hmm" She said, slightly dazed, "Remus?"
"Yeah it's me. What are you doing here?"
"It hurts. It hurts so bad Rem." She cried, tears running down her face.
"What hurts?"
"No i can't show you?" She was turning slightly delusional at this point.
"Why not?"
"Because then you'll hate me, and- and you'll take me to Dumbledore and then I'll get expelled and sent to azkaban," She started crying even harder at this point.
"No I won't. I just want to help you Y/N, Okay? Show me please love," He said softly. She rolled up her sleeve to reveal the dark mark and streams of blood all around it. He wasn't surprised to see it. Sirius had been voicing his worry about the probability that her and Reg had taken the mark for a couple weeks now. He had heard rumors about how uncomfortable the mark was to have but he never thought it would be able to reduce her to pieces, the same girl that took a pain jinx like it was nothing during dueling in fifth year. He shook away the tears that were starting to form in his eyes,
"How does it hurt?"
"It burns and itches," She cried.
"okay. Let's get you to my dorm, I have something for it there," He said, helping her up.
"Wait but what about Sirius?" She questioned.
"He's probably dead asleep by now as well as the other boys."
They made their way down to the common room where the fat lady gave them a sympathetic look on the way in. She stumbled on a few stairs on the way to the dorm and as soon as they got to the door he motioned for her to be quiet to which she nodded. They slipped in as quiet as mice and into the bathroom. He placed a silencing charm on the bathroom so he could fix her up without needing to worry about waking up the boys.
"Sit," He said gesturing to the toilet. She obeyed immediately and did not have enough energy to argue. He grabbed the first aid kit from under the sink along with his bag of medicine for full moons. She was slowly nodding off, the exhaustion catching up with her. He pulled out bandages, wrap, healing cream and cooling ointment.
"Hey stay awake for me okay. As soon as I'm done you can go to sleep okay," She nodded and rubbed her eyes. He put the healing cream and then the cooling ointment which made her sigh in relief. Sometimes muggle treatment is better than wizard concoctions. He laughed loudly at her reaction. Once finished cleaning up the blood and dirt he wrapped her arm up in gauze and tape before pressing a kiss to it.
"Wait one second," He said before unlocking the door and stepping out of the room. He walked down the halls and to the girls dorm before knocking lightly on Lily's door. Perfect rounds only got over about 10 minutes ago so he hoped she wasn't asleep yet.
A few seconds later she opened the door, still dressed in her uniform.
"Remus, it's almost three in the morning, what's wrong?"
"Nothing's wrong, as of right now. Um, is there a possibility you have any pajamas I can borrow?" She looked at him weird, "Not I borrow. , Sirius' sister is in our dorm and her uniform is covered in blood and i don't have anything for her to sleep in,"
"Oh, uh yeah give me one second," She smiled and closed the door again. A few seconds later she appeared with a pair of shorts and a t-shirt.
"Thank you so much lils," He smiled.
"Any time, actually i think that shirt is hers anyway,"
"why would you have one of her shirts?"
"All of us had a sleep over last week and i think she left it here,"
"Oh..." He trailed off wondering why Lily had never mentioned that they were friends before, "Well goodnight and thank you again," She nodded once more before closing the door.
Once he got back to his dorm he contemplated walking her back down to the dungeons but decided against it when he saw her trying not to fall asleep in the bathroom.
"Here i got you these from Lily to sleep in,"
"Thank you," She took the clothes from his hands.
"I'll be out here when you're ready," She nodded and closed the door. He turned and went over to his bed to change into sweats and a t-shirt. He fixed his bed up and then placed more blankets on the couch in the corner of the room for himself to sleep on. She can wondering out a few seconds later in what he gave her. She looked exhausted, her eyes were dark and the circles under her eyes were prominent.
"You can have the bed," He said sitting on the couch.
"No Remus I can't take your bed. You've already done so much for me." She said, shaking her head.
"Y/N I assure you it's fine."
"Remus no,"
"Y/N yes,"
"No,"
"Yes,"
"No,"
"Yes,"
"Okay fine how about we both sleep on the bed," he thought for a second before responding.
"Fine," He flicked his wand and placed an extension charm so they could both comfortably sleep. She climbed in on the side opposite of Sirius and layed down. He followed and they both played in silence for a couple minutes.
Finally Y/N broke the silence "Thank You Remus," She whispered.
"Always,"
They fell asleep in a comfortable silence.

Remus woke up early to mutter around his bed. He found that somehow him and Y/N had wound up right next to eachother cuddling. His arms were wrapped aorund her waist and she was up close to him with her face nuzzled into his neck.
"REMUS JOHN LUPIN WHY THE FUCK IS MY SISTER IN YOUR BED?"
Oh Shit.
