Chapter 7
After the feast was over, Harry ran to the top table. Sirius met him half way and they hugged for the longest time.
"Harry took his godfather's death really hard" Hermione said. "But what has me confused is why and how they came back?"
"Harry's parents and Sirius?" Rey asked.
Hermione nodded. "Maybe I can find something in the library."
"If they came back to life, does that mean Voldemort can as well?" Ben asked.
"No" McGonagall said. "and to save you time, Granger, I can tell you why they are back. It's an old power that was thought to have been instinct but then Harry somehow invoked the ancient power when he left the Dursley's for the final time on July 30 last year. He was willing to do anything to bring peace to the magical families and non magical people, even so far as laying his life down, that life was restored. It isn't easy to understand it and to say this, is a lot, I still don't understand it. But James and Lily died before their time as did Sirius."
"Oh" Hermione said. "Guess that explains a lot, but does that mean that everyone who died before their time will come back?"
"Only time will tell" Snape said as he walked up. "So why don't you all head upstairs and get some sleep? Tomorrow is going to be a full day."
The next morning Harry was still bouncing with happiness as he looked at his godfather at the teachers table. What surprised him though was that Snape and Sirius were actually talking peacefully.
Once breakfast was over, McGonagall called Lily Potter over. "Now that I am headmistress, I had to appoint someone else as the transfiguration professor and head of Gryffindor. Everyone, meet Lily Potter. If you have any questions or problems, you can always go to her just like you all could come to me. Ben, Rey, I will still be teaching you, so don't worry, but Lily will also have a hand in it. Lily, if you want, you can go ahead and hand out the schedules."
As Lily handed out the schedules to the students, McGonagall called Ben and Rey over to her. "You will be with me for the first half of the day, then with Sirius and even Remus. Tomorrow will be more of the same thing. So get some sleep."
As they made their way to Gryffindor tower, Hermione filled them in on where they would be sleeping. "McGonagall set it up to where you both will have your own rooms since you may be doing training at night so that way it doesn't disturb the others. She did the same with Harry and I."
Once in the common room, Hermione led them upstairs but instead of going into the rooms on the side, she continued on down another flight of stairs. "This is a little more private. Rey, your room is right here, and Ben, you're next door. You will find your trunks already inside. Doby and Winky put your things away while we were at dinner. If you need anything, Harry and I are across the hall."
With that Hermione left. Ben opened his door and pulled Rey inside with him. "I don't know about you, but I don't want to be in here alone" he said.
"I agree" she said with a smile. "I don't think McGonagall will mind us sharing."
Together they fell on the bed, still in their clothes and soon fell asleep wrapped in each other's arms.
Harry woke up when the sun filtered in his window. He knew Hermione was probably already up and probably had the entire year mapped out with study sessions for the finals.
As he got dressed, he decided that he would accompany Rey and Ben to the great hall for breakfast. Save him the headache of listening to Hermione go on about the study schedules and telling him that they needed to start studying that night.
He knocked on Ben's door first and a frown crossed his face when he heard someone giggle. As he listened closer he realized that Rey was in there. He started chuckling as he knocked again. "Hey you two. Breakfast time."
A groan, which he assumed was Ben was heard. Harry was laugh still when the door opened. "Ben doesn't like his robes" Rey said.
"They make me look like a walking broom" Ben hissed.
Harry frowned as he looked inside. Just then Hermione came out of her own room and frowned. "What's going on?" She asked.
"I guess McGonagall may have gone a little overboard on guessing the size" Harry said still laughing. "Maybe Hermione can help."
"Come on Ben" Rey said. "It's not so bad."
"Easy for you to say" he said. "At least yours isn't sweeping the floor."
Now Hermione was really confused until Ben appeared in the doorway. Her eyes widened as her mouth dropped open. "Ok. No problem" she said. "Come on. We will get this fixed and then go for breakfast."
Rey was still chuckling as they walked into the great hall. By now Ben was starting to see the humor of what happened and he smiled at her. "Thank goodness for Hermione" he whispered.
McGonagall was already seated at the head table. She looked at them and nodded before continuing her conversation.
After breakfast, McGonagall motioned for Ben and Rey to follow her. "There has been a slight change in today's lessons. You will still be with me, but we will be joined soon by Harry and also one of the Weasley twins."
"Ok" Rey replied.
McGonagall led them upstairs to the fifth floor. "Harry suggested we use the come and go room for our needs. It will be big enough for your lessons."
When the door appeared, McGonagall led them inside. "Before the others get here, I want to let you know that what goes on in here will be a private matter. The only ones who will know are you two, and those who have a hand in your training. Tomorrow you will be in the classrooms with everyone else, but today we felt we needed to see what you both know and work from there. As you both have been trained in the ways of the force, I know you both know how to fight. We just need to channel it away from the lightsabers to the wands. You can still use the force for fighting."
Just then the door opened and Harry walked in with Fred Weasley.
