could we?
when i was me, but you were you. when i was us and you were them. when you didn’t and i had. double. ostracised by a world that i never knew, were you, too?
in the end, it was a figment of our imagination. was it? my misperception and their movements on the board changed my view. the choice, i believed, i never found.
could you? the actions they believed, but was it all in futility? did you ever fulfil, for one face, or the other?
maybe the illusion of our choice lay not in our choice, but our actions. i tried. did you?
the forfeiture on both sides, but was it ever both? were we ever us? ever our? your face was stained but mine was clean. the phantom of our decisions haunt us, despite the mirage of our wins and losses.
yet, i did.
all you did was ever to the wall.
