Michael was like any other guardian angel. He received cases to watch over humans on Earth. Every once in a while a case would come along where the angel would have the choice of taking the child into their care if they gave up their wings to do so. Not many guardian angels would willingly give up their wings to care for a human. Being a guardian angel was special and worthwhile. Michael had seen a few who chose to give up their wings because the case the angel was given was more important than their wings. Michael had thought that those angels were crazy for giving up their wings. He understood that those cases were important, but to him they were not enough to give up his wings for. He didn’t think that he would ever receive a case that he would be willing to give his wings up for.
Then he received this case. The case of Harry James Potter. At first the child was happy and healthy and well cared for. Then Harry’s parents were killed and Michael used his protection as Harry’s guardian angel to keep Harry safe. Michael was concerned when this old man with a white beard was about to drop Harry off on his relative’s doorstep. He looked into Harry’s future and found it lacking love, guidance, support and found abuse, manipulation, hurt, pain, lies, betrayals and more. He saw that Harry would need him more than he originally thought.
Michael paused. Was he really considering giving up his wings for this case? Yes, yes he was. He was willing to give up his wings to help Harry survive and not suffer those who wished to harm him. He was going to give up his wings to raise Harry. He would show Harry love, and give him the childhood he deserved. He would raise him to fix the mistakes he saw in Harry’s future.
As soon as Michael decided to give up his wings, he took Harry from his relatives. He took him to Gringotts and made sure Dumbledore had no hold over him. They took care of the Horcrux in Harry and used it to find the others, and destroyed Voldemort for good. They had the Wills unsealed and unblocked the Magic Dumbledore blocked from Harry. They made sure to give Harry’s seats to Andromeda to hold until Harry was of age. Michael made sure Dumbledore could not access Harry’s money either. He also had the goblins cancel the marriage contract Dumbledore made. Michael even used the Wills to have a trial for Sirius Black and get him released from Azkaban. No charges stuck when he tried to have Dumbledore arrested. Michael didn’t care as long as he had no access to Harry. And he wouldn’t, at least for the next 10 years.

Michael was glad he had given up his wings to raise Harry. Harry was a very smart, happy, kind, and loving child. Harry had grown knowing that he had worth and that he was loved. Michael had not regretted his decision at all.
He was worried for when Harry received his letter of acceptance to Hogwarts. Dumbledore was still Headmaster, even though he lost his ICW and Wizengamot positions, he was still in charge of Hogwarts. Claiming it was all a “misunderstanding”, and “for the greater good”. Which Michael didn’t get. What or who’s greater good was it for and if it was then how was it a misunderstanding?
Harry was excited when he received his letter. Michael cautioned Harry about Dumbledore and anyone who might want to use Harry for his name. Also made sure that Harry was well informed about who he was. He taught Harry all about the Wizarding World and the wizarding culture. Michael made sure that Harry had access to his godfather Sirius, and his partner Remus. He also kept in touch with Andromeda, Severus, the Longbottom’s and the Malfoy’s. They all helped to keep Dumbledore away from Harry.
Michael helped take Harry to Diagon Alley. He made sure Harry got all of his supplies including an Owl named Hedwig. Harry ended up with a mahogany wood and a thestral hair core. Olivander seemed disappointed when another wand had not worked and muttered something about Dumbledore. Michael tried to interrogate him about it, but Olivander clammed up about it.
Michael dropped Harry off at 9 3/4 at King’s Cross and made sure he got on the train safely. Michael saw Harry get into compartment with Neville and Draco. He smiled and waved as they departed.

Harry had gotten sorted into Slytherin. Michael was proud. Michael missed him, but knew Harry was where he belonged. He made sure to let Severus know that Harry was not allowed to be alone with Dumbledore, ever. He was glad he had someone he knew watching over Harry.Michael would have Harry’s back if there was anything he ever needed.
Michael often heard from Harry and how he was doing. Michael was glad he was doing well. He kept in touch because he knew Dumbledore still had plans to try and manipulate and control Harry just to keep in charge of the Wizarding World. Dumbledore didn’t get a chance to be alone with Harry because Harry always made sure to bring Severus with him to any meetings he tried to pull Harry into. Michael laughed every time Harry let him know what Dumbledore tried to to do.
As the years past Michael grew frustrated at the way Dumbledore kept trying to get control of Harry, but he had no hopes of gaining custody of Harry. Michael made sure of that. He was just glad Harry was so smart that he kept away from Dumbledore.
As Harry grew, Michael was happy to see him find love and happiness with Draco, who became his boyfriend and eventually his husband.
Dumbledore was finally arrested and charged with all sorts of crimes when he went after Harry when his name had not come out of the TriWizard Cup. Dumbledore went crazy. Apparently Dumbledore tried to orchestrate Harry’s name coming out of the cup and then using Harry to further his goals of keeping control of the Wizarding World. He was locked away inside the Janus Thickey Ward at St. Mungo’s.
Michael died at an old age knowing he had made the right choice in giving up his wings in order to raise Harry. If he had to, he would do it all over again.
