Starboy,
Sorry I haven't written in a few days. I just wanted to give you some time to finish the book. How are you enjoying it so far?

Bookworm,
I really liked the book! I've never actually read a story written by a muggle before, so I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but even with the lack of magical concepts, the storyline was quite interesting.
You were right about star-crossed. I can't believe Romeo thought Juliet was dead! Why didn't he just feel for a pulse or listen for her breathing? What a stupid guy. And on Juliet's part, I could not imagine being so blinded by love that killing yourself is the only option. I think Romeo would have wanted Juliet to move on and find love again. That's what I would want for my significant other if I were dead.
The balcony scene was terrific, though. The amount of courage it must have taken Juliet to admit (to herself) that she was in love with someone she shouldn't have been in love with is astronomical. Knowing my family, I would never be able to muster the courage to do so. It reminded me of an aunt that I have. She fell in love with a muggle and ran away with him. I've never even met her before and I think my grandparents excommunicated her from the family and removed her from our family tree. If I ever were to fall in love with someone my parents didn't approve of, I guess, I would rather die, too. So, maybe Romeo and Juliet were justified in that decision.
Do we ever learn why the Capulets and the Montagues hate each other? I hope I didn't accidentally miss that part.
I'd love to read another muggle book. Looking at your list, I'm thinking of reading Beauty and the Beast next.

Hermione stared at the letter, blinking every so often. Starboy could never fall in love with someone not of pure blood.
"Well, are you going to write back?" Ginny snapped.
"Read it," Hermione sighed, pushing the parchment across the table towards her friend.
Ginny's eyes moved rapidly as she took in the words. "Well, you're muggle-born, which is better than-" she started.
"Maybe he is a blood status freak," Hermione grumbled, "He's probably already got an arranged marriage within the Sacred Twenty-Eight."
"He's bloody only fifteen or sixteen! Plus, he told you in an earlier letter that he doesn't care about that stuff, only his family does," Ginny stated matter of factly.
"Yeah, but he wouldn't even be able to tell them about us - not that there is an 'us' - because they would be so disapproving. I don't want to rip apart his family!"
"You're thinking about this too hard," Ginny grinned, "When he falls in love with you, he'll realize that his mindset was stupid and that if his parents really love him, they'll approve of you."
