letter 5

17 March 1996

Starboy,

Honestly, I am quite disappointed we can't learn more about each other. I am picturing you to be tall, pale, blue-eyed, and with light brown hair. Could you at least tell me if I'm correct or not?

Anyways, I'm finished with the book now. I noticed you put stars next to certain objects in the list of dark objects. I certainly hope you're not trying to get ahold of them! Not that you would be able to, since most of these objects are already owned by very powerful and dangerous people.

Since I am done, I can leave it on the table in the back of the library by the fireplace for you tomorrow before breakfast. I'll tie a ribbon around it.

- Bookworm

Hermione removed the ribbon that was holding her hair together and wrapped it around the book she'd been reading for the past week. She sighed, now that her mysterious pen pal was getting his book back, would they even continue to write to each other?

Comet left with her letter, but he never returned. Usually, he was back within a few hours, but night had fallen, and he still had not brought a letter back.

"What if something happened to Comet?" Hermione worried, "Or worse, what if he's ignoring me?"

Ginny smirked, "So you do like him!"

Hermione smacked her friend on the arm, "No! I can't like him, I barely know him."

Draco left for breakfast early the next morning so he could get his book back. He found it just as Huntress had explained. The brown book had a scarlet ribbon tied in a bow around it. He smiled and looked around to make sure that no one was watching him in the library, but not that many people were here this early in the morning.

Quickly, he slid the book into his bag and walked across the castle to the Great Hall for breakfast.

"What are you smiling about?" Theo teased as Draco sat down on the bench across from the brunet boy.

Draco shook his head, "Nothing."

"You're bluffing," Blaise snorted, "It's those stupid letters, isn't it? What did she do now? Confess her undying love for you?"

Draco's eyebrows furrowed, "No!" he snapped, "She returned my book. I'm just happy to have my book back."

"So no more Starboy and Bookworm?" Theo chuckled.

"I don't know. I think we're going to continue writing," Draco's eyes wandered to the Gryffindor table, scanning the length for anything that could point her out to him. Lavender Brown had a red scarf tied into her hair, but it wasn't a ribbon. He hoped it wasn't her - she was terribly irritating.

"Oh come on, man!" Theo groaned, "We hate Gryffindors!"

Draco slammed his hands down on the table, "She's different."

"How do you know that?" Blaise raised an eyebrow, "You barely know her."

Bookworm,

I apologize for my late reply. After you were finished with the book, I wasn't sure if you'd want to keep in touch or not. But, I want to keep writing to you.

Your imagination of me is partially correct. I like that you are thinking of me. Though, your description reminds me oddly of Longbottom. I hope you don't think I am him.

I starred those items as an inventory of what is owned by the House of Black, and what isn't. The House of Black is so ancient that practically every pure-blood family in England is related to them, so don't assume I am revealing deep secrets about myself to you.

I really liked your ribbon. The perfect Gryffindor red - my favorite kind of red.

- Starboy

P.S. I imagine you have wavy brown hair, probably brown eyes, some freckles, and a pretty smile. Not to mention, smoking hot.

"HE THINKS YOU'RE HOT!" Ginny screeched right next to Hermione, causing her to clutch her ear in pain.

Hermione rolled her eyes, "No, he is imagining a hot girl, he doesn't know what I actually look like."

Ginny pursed her lips, "I mean, his imagination is accurate."

"Plus, he's a teenage boy. He probably thinks every girl is hot."
