Today is the day of the annual Maria Stark Foundation Charity Ball. Evan picked out his finest navy blue suit to match his date's dress. He didn't even remember her name. She was just the daughter of someone his parents were 'friends' with. He sighs as he puts his shiny new cuff links on.
There is a knock on his door, "Evan are you ready?" It was Maddie. She is wearing a beautiful purple evening gown and her hair is in an updo.
"Yeah, Mads I'm ready." Evan turns to walk out of his room.
"And where is your tie? You know Mom is going to flip if you walk out of here without it on."
Evan groans as he grabs the tie from his bed. He glares at it like it is the bane of his existence. "Could you help me please?"
Maddie smiles and helps him tie the tie. "There you look great. Your date is downstairs."
"Don't remind me. Let's get this over with." Evan walks out of his room.
Tony walks over to the bar and picks up a glass. He browses the crowd when he notices a pair of pretty blue eyes looking back at him. Tony doesn't recognize the young man. This intrigues him. He makes his way through the crowd to the young man who looks surprised.
"Hello, Mr. Stark. I'm surprised you made your way to little old me."
"What can I say? I was entranced by two very beautiful blue gems. It seems I'm at a disadvantage. What's your name?"
"Evan. Evan Buckley. A pleasure to make your acquaintance."
Tony hums, "Buckley you say. As in Buckley Enterprises? What is it your family does again? It escapes me."
Evan giggles, "Oh my parents try to dip their finger in every pie. I'm not surprised you don't know. Their most recent venture is medical equipment. My sister Maddie is a nurse so they want to give her the best tools they can."
He couldn't help but glance toward his parents. They were off to his right making connections that could only possibly benefit themselves. At that moment his mother looks over at him, most likely to make sure Evan isn't messing things up and realizes who he is talking to. Evan saw the look his mother gave his father and he groans internally. Somehow he is definitely getting in trouble for this.
