Harry Potter | Ravenclaw Severus Snape
Severus opens the door to an empty compartment on the train. His best friend Lily shuffles in behind him.
"Are you excited? We're finally going to Hogwarts!" She exclaims. He gives Lily a small smile and nods. He's always been the quiet type. They chat for a bit about what they were going to do when they got to Hogwarts. The train whistle blows, signally that it would be departing any second. Suddenly their compartment door opens and two boys step inside.
"You guys mind if we join you? All the other compartments are full."
Lily smiles and gestures for them to sit. She moves to sit next to her best friend rather than across from him. The two boys then sat on the opposite bench. "I'm Lily Evans and this is Severus Snape. What're your names?"
"James Potter and this is my cousin Sirius Black." The brunette boy says with a smile. "So do you know what house you're going to be in? I'm going to Gryffindor just like my parents." James proclaims.
"Me too. I going for Gryffindor too. I definitely don't want to be a Slytherin like the rest of my family." Sirius makes a disgusted face at the thought.
Severus tilts his head in curiosity, "What's wrong with Slytherin? My mom was a Slytherin." Annoyance drips through his voice.
Sirius leans forward, kind of in Severus' space. "Everyone knows only pureblood supremacists want to be in that house. Slytherin is a house full of evil wizards."
"My mom wasn't an evil witch and besides I'm a halfblood." Severus' face turns a bit pink in his frustration. Lily could tell this situation was going to spiral into something worst. She places her hand in his and squeezes. "I know your mom isn't evil. After all, she taught us what she could about Hogwarts."
James, picking up on the hidden context, says "Hey it's cool that you'd want to remember your mom by going into the same house she was in but don't you think it would be better for you to find your own way?" He smiles at Severus and points to the book in Severus' lap. "I think Ravenclaw would be a much better fit don't you agree." Severus sneers at Sirius and looks down at his lap. He takes a deep breath and nods.
"Maybe you're right." "You'll find that I'm right a lot." Everyone lets out a chuckle.
