The Sorting
The four made their way to the Slytherin table proudly.
They sat down in their own corner of the table, waiting for the sorting to being.
"Brimson, Carlos", McGonagall said.
The minute the hat touched the arrogant-looking boy's head, it yelled out Slytherin.
The four of them were disappointed. Why was it that their house attracted arrogant brats without an ounce of subtlety.
A pair of twins, Hestia and Flora Carrow were sorted into Slytherin.
"Creevey, Colin", a tiny mousy haired boy trotted up to the hat.
"GRYFFINDOR", the hat yelled out after a few moments of consideration.
"Dane, Alexandria", was also sorted into Gryffindor, while
"Dilsen, Miller", became a Hufflepuff.
It was Harmony's turn now, and as the four had predicted, the hat, after about a minute, yelled,
"HUFFLEPUFF!"
After Cynthia Hayes was sorted into Ravenclaw, it was Luna's turn.
The hat seemed to ponder a bit, just like it had with Harmony, and bellowed,
"RAVENCLAW!"
They could see Harmony look slightly disappointed at her friend being sorted in a different house.
This continued on for a while.
Stephanie and Stephen Macdougal, a pair of twins, were sorted into Ravenclaw.
Zoey McCarten, Phillip Hughes and Zara Kama were sorted into Gryffindor, while William Lewis became a Ravenclaw.
After Sylvia Queen became a Hufflepuff, the only first years left were Ginny and Skylar.
"Visten, Skylar", Professor McGonagall called out.
After only a few moments, the hat bellowed,
"GRYFFINDOR!"
Finally, it was Ginny's turn. Ron had his finger crossed under the table.
"Weasley, Ginerva", McGonagall said.
one minute,
two minutes,
five minutes.
And after being the fifth hatstall in a generation, Ginny Weasley was sorted into Gryffindor.
Ron deflated, a disappointed but resigned look on his face.
Professor Dumbledore raised his palm, and the chatter died away instantly.
"Well, good evening", he beamed at all of them, as though nothing could give him more joy that to see them all there.
"I've got a few words to say. Chute, whisper, dig in, enjoy!"
"Is he a bit mad", one of the first years asked, nervously.
"Well, every genius has a spark of madness. Professor Dumbledore is no different. He's quite eccentric, you can say", Hermione answered.
And with that, food appeared on the golden platters, mouth-watering as always.
Seeing it, Ron couldn't help but perk up, the frown on his face sketching into a smile, causing the other three to huff with fond exasperation.
