Chapter 5
James lead Regulus, his hand clasped around his as he wove them through the dark tunnels.
When they stepped out into the light of the hallway, James turned to look at Reg, Reg’s dark hair shone in the candlelight, and James couldn’t help himself as he reached to brush a piece of hair from Reg’s face. Regulus’ breath seemed to catch causing James to step back in apology. “I-um- sorry, I don’t know what came over me.” He replied before turning away all the while muttering how stupid he was.
Regulus watched amused at James’s embarrassment before chasing after him and spinning him so his back was against the wall and Reg was caging him with his arms. “Don’t worry James I don’t mind one bit.”
In this position James looked wonderful and Regulus’ eyes locked with James’s lips. James seemed to have the same problem because his eyes were firmly glued to Reg’s lips.
Reg leaned forwards slowly, giving James an out if he so wished, but it was James who closed the gap, hands weaving into Regulus’ hair. Reg was momentarily stunned by James’s forwardness but soon found his ground and took control again. He pushed James firmly against the wall, one leg wedged between James’s thighs, pushing just slightly against the underside of his erect member.
James let out a gasp at the sensation and Reg took the opportunity to slide his tongue against James’s.
The boys were so consumed by each other, they didn’t realize another person had just turned into the corridor.
Lily stood at the end of the hallway, watching the boys in their pleasure, before snapping out of it. “Students out of bed, and caught in a compromising position. Tut tut tut. Quite the rule breakers.”
“Fuck!” Regulus cursed before turning to see the playful smile on Lily’s face. “Salazar’s cock Lily! You nearly gave me a heart attack.”
Lily shook her head as she walked closer to the duo, “I didn’t know you had such a filthy mouth Black.” She looked to James who looked utterly stunning with his missed hair and swollen lips.
“He does look gorgeous doesn’t he?” Mused Regulus as he took in his work. “Well we can’t have this conversation out here, we’ll get caught by a much less alluring prefect.”
Regulus unlocked one of the classrooms and they all snuck in. “So James has the hots for both of us Lily.” Regulus started completely casually, as if they were talking about dinner options. “I suggest a polyamorous relationship.”
James chocked and Lily’s jaw was slack. “Regulus, you can’t just go around saying stuff like that, it’s improper!” Lily hissed.
Regulus rolled his eyes, “what? It’s something we all want. Why fight it? You’re gorgeous and intelligent and witty, James is stunning and kind and surprising smart-“
“Gee thanks.” James cut in sarcastically.
“Look Lily, it’s not something you should think to much about. We’re young and interested. Why not experiment.” Regulus asked while moving to stand in front of Lily.
“For fucks sake! Fine!” Lily said before pulling Regulus down by his toe and smashing her lips against his. She melted against him and he took over and lead the kiss in the dominating way of his. He hiked Lily up onto the desk she had been leaning against, and started peppering kisses down her neck causing Lily to gasp. When Regulus found her sweet spot, he started to suck and nibble at it, leaving a mark against her porcelain skin.
James watched them both getting harder by the second. Lily’s gasps and Reg’s groans had him all hot and bothered. Before he had time to process what he was doing, he was sat on the table next to Lily and was brushing her hair from the other side of her neck before leaning down and placing hit open mouthed kisses there.
Lily’s hand shot up and grabbed at James’s hair holding him in place while the other did the same to Regulus.
Regulus pulled away and looked at the pair with lust filled eyes. Lily with her head thrown back in ecstasy and James marking her. After he found out Sirius had died he didn’t think he’d ever be happy, but here and spending time with Sirius and his friends had shown him how even before his almost death, Regulus had never truly been living.
Regulus cast his gaze to the watch on his wrist, a family heirloom, “fuck! Guys have you seen the time? We have to go!” Lily cast a time spell and cursed colorfully.
“You’re right. We have to go. James you use that stupid map of yours and take him back without getting caught I have to go to the end of rounds meeting to clock out.” Lily instructed before placing a kiss on both their lips and hurrying out while trying to calm her mussed hair.
Regulus followed James silently down the hidden passages before kissing him goodbye at the end of the last one.
“What’s taking James so long?” Complained Sirius. Remus thought he was getting tetchy over nothing, but that was Sirius’ brother. “Do you think something’s happened to them? Should we go look for them?”
“No Pads,” Remus sighed trying to get his boyfriend to calm. “Come here, they probably just had to take a longer route to avoid prefect patrols.” Remus soothed as he ran his fingers through Sirius’ hair.
A minute later, James burst into the room.
“And just where do you think you’ve been? It took you like four times the normal time to get back!” Sirius asked in his older brother voice. He didn’t bring it out often, just when someone had hurt him or he was worried.
A blush rose to James’s cheeks, “I- uh- well you see, we sorta ran into Lily and we had to convince her not to give us detention or take house points. Which took a while but we’re clear now.” Sirius seemed happy by the answer and hunkered down next to Remus ready to sleep for the night. Remus, on the other hand, noticed the swollen lips and dazed smile. He chose not to mention it.
The next day in class the four boys were all sat next to each other in transfiguration. McGonagall walked in sighed rolled her eyes and walked to the front of the room. “Right ladies and gentlemen, today we are going to practice how to turn a large animal into a cushion. Wands out, the incantation and wand movement is on page 67.”
All four boys managed to transfigure their animals quickly. Remus was first, Sirius and James completed theirs practically at the same time and argued over who won, and after a bit of help from Remus, Peter completed his.
James had magically flung his pillow at Sirius, but Sirius ducked in time and the pillow hit Remus in the side of the head. Remus, the always calm friend, flung his and James’s pillow back and started an all out pillow war.
“POTTER! BLACK! LUPIN! PETTIGREW! Up now!” McGonagall hollered from the front of the classroom. “Peter over there by Sophia Tinkles,” they all groaned, she was splitting them up. “Remus, next to Salone Starcrest, Sirius next to Lucinda Lockheart, James next to Lily Evans.”
James flushed red as he walked over to Lily and when he settled down he knew just what to do, “what do you think about the rules of not being able to use magic in front of muggles even if it’s to heal a muggle of a sickness?” And that’s how they got into a long winded debate on magical ethics. Minnie rolled her eyes but hoped they got together soon, because if they got together before Christmas break, she’d be winning a lot of money.
Remus quickly sobered up and started working quietly with Salone, helping her when she needed it and writing down the notes and instructions on how to complete the spell.
Peter was sulking, but he was doing his work and that was all McGonagall asked.
And Sirius, well Sirius had the girl creating miniature paper figures so they could wage war against each other. “Mr Black! That is not appropriate in my classroom. Clearly you can not be trusted to learn on your own. Front of the class now!”
Sirius sent the boys a smirk and sat in front of McGonagall’s desk. “So Minnie, how was your break?”
“Relaxing. Now work.”
Sirius pouted, “mine was alright, I got disowned which is a bonus and Regulus is talking to me again but keep that on the downlow.” Sirius continued with a wink.
McGonagall’s stomach dropped. She knew he wasn’t treated well, had even offered him to stay at Hogwarts over the summer breaks, but he had said he couldn’t leave his brother with them. “Why did they disown you Sirius?” Minnie asked softly.
Sirius’ eyes shot up, he glanced around the room so Minnie put up a soundproof bubble around them.
“They found out I was gay. I was already on thin ice about the whole Griffindor thing but they found out I was gay so Wally tried to marry me off but I snuck out and when I got back she had my letters. She got real mad and disowned me so I went to the Potter’s and the rest is history.”
McGonagall’s heart broke. She may have found Sirius disruptive at some times but Sirius was as close to a son as she ever had. All four of them were. They always came to her office at least once a week to have tea and biscuits. She didn’t know how anyone could hurt them.
McGonagall decided then and there she was going to talk to Euphemia and they would come up with a plan together.
