Flirting
Summary
Vi barked out a laugh, her gaze lingering on Caitlyn's form. That tight pencil skirt fit her perfectly. Vi couldn’t say it out loud, but she wasn’t sure if her face was hiding it. The students groaned internally as they watched the hopeless teachers flirt with each other. “This has been going on for years,” one muttered.Ignoring the comment, Vi motioned for Caitlyn to step inside. “If you’re not going to teach, you may as well keep me company.”Caitlyn smiled to herself, pushing off the wall, her hips swaying with every step. Vi was far enough behind that it wasn’t obvious she was watching, but she could see who among the students was lingering a bit too long.

Vi adjusted the glasses on the bridge of her nose. “And make sure you balance each side of the equation. If you don’t, you’ll get it wrong on the test tomorrow. Understand?” She asked, finishing the chemical equation on the chalkboard.

The students’ pencils scratched against paper, their answers echoing in the room as they copied down the work.

The classroom was full of college students simply trying to get their credits and pass this *stupid* class, which was mandatory for anyone wanting to go into the medical field.

Vi turned around and was greeted by the sight of long legs in the doorway. “Professor, how are you?”

Vi smirked and licked her lips, watching Caitlyn lean her tall frame casually against the doorframe. She placed the chalk down and leaned back against her desk, crossing her arms. “Don’t you have a class waiting for you?” she asked, glancing at her watch. 12:34 p.m.

Caitlyn, in fact, did have a class to teach. But she rolled her eyes playfully and scoffed. “They’re adults. They can wait.”

“This has been going on for years,” one muttered.

Ignoring the comment, Vi motioned for Caitlyn to step inside. “If you’re not going to teach, you may as well keep me company.”

Caitlyn smiled to herself, pushing off the wall, her hips swaying with every step. Vi was far enough behind that it wasn’t obvious she was watching, but she could see who among the students was lingering a bit too long.

She decided not to comment and focused on the woman in front of her instead. “Are your students causing havoc, or have you trained them already?” Vi teased once Caitlyn was a few steps away.

“You’d be shocked at how well they listen,” Caitlyn said, flashing a smile that revealed the tiny gap between her teeth. God, Vi loved that.

Vi wasn’t one to flirt openly, so she surprised herself when she responded, “I wouldn’t know.” Caitlyn raised an eyebrow, giving her a curious look.

Vi smiled and glanced away slightly, then turned back to the students still copying notes from the board. She spoke again, before Caitlyn could: “I know I’m insanely attractive, but I’m hoping there’s another reason why you’re here.” Total lie.

Caitlyn’s long, dark blue hair shifted as she laughed, the movement lighting up her face. “You’re so full of yourself,” she said, her cheeks flushing just slightly.

Vi smiled back. “You didn’t answer my question.”

“You never asked a question,” Caitlyn shot back quickly. By now, the students had finished writing and were quietly whispering to each other, their attention still on the two professors.

Vi could tell Caitlyn wanted her to ask, but she decided to play with her a bit longer. “Yeah, but it was implied, wasn’t it?” she smirked slightly, watching the mild annoyance flash across Caitlyn’s face.

“You’re insufferable,” Caitlyn whispered, only for Vi to hear.

“And yet, you’re still here,” Vi retorted, amused.

Caitlyn stayed silent for a few seconds, studying Vi’s face like she was trying to solve a puzzle. Then, her lips parted as she settled on her response. “Do you want me to leave?” she asked, a challenge in her voice.

That was the question. Vi already knew the answer, but if she said yes, it would be the opposite of what she wanted. If she said no, Caitlyn would win whatever game they were playing. And judging by the look on Caitlyn’s face, Vi was definitely losing.

Vi narrowed her eyes slightly as Caitlyn’s sly grin spread across her face. “You know the answer to that,” Vi said, settling into the moment. It was true—Caitlyn knew exactly what the answer was. There was no reason for her to say it aloud.

Before Vi could speak again, she turned away, erasing the equation from the board and checking the clock. 12:40 p.m. Only twenty more minutes of class left.

She could hear Caitlyn let out a quiet laugh, but it didn’t sound like she moved from her spot. “Usually, I wouldn’t let that go so easily, but I’m in a good mood,” Caitlyn said as Vi turned to face her.

This playful banter had become a regular thing between them, and Vi couldn’t bring herself to stop. “Whatever you say, Caitlyn,” she smirked, then threw her a wink. What was she doing? She had already done it, so there was no point in regretting it now. All she could do was wait and see how Caitlyn reacted.

Caitlyn felt a flush spread across her cheeks as she caught the wink. She stammered slightly, her words catching. “I—I... It’s Professor Kiramman,” she corrected weakly. To be fair, Vi looked absolutely stunning with her sleeves rolled up high enough to reveal her tattoos and muscular forearms, her red hair slicked back, pieces falling perfectly around her face, and those glasses perched on the bridge of her nose. All of it ruined Caitlyn.

Then, to make matters worse, she heard a couple of students snicker behind her. Thankfully, Vi shot them a sharp look before turning back to Caitlyn and flashing a smile. Caitlyn could only laugh to herself.

Vi pushed her glasses back up her nose and crossed her arms. “My apologies, Professor Kiramman,” she teased lightly, slipping into a terrible accent and revealing a glimpse of her slight fangs.

Caitlyn scoffed, trying to regain composure. She shook her head slightly, attempting to clear the blush from her face. “You are…” She trailed off as she watched Vi’s expression, as if she were memorizing every detail—every freckle, every scar.

Vi raised an eyebrow, eager to see what Caitlyn would say next. Her heart began to beat faster as she realized Caitlyn was admiring her—right here, in front of her students. When Caitlyn didn’t finish her sentence, Vi licked her lips slightly and opened her mouth to speak, but before she could, Caitlyn’s eyes flickered to her own.

Caitlyn spoke, suddenly breaking the tension. “I shall leave you to your class,” she said, stepping back from the desk. Vi was left confused and shocked by the sudden shift in energy.

Vi quickly regained her composure. “Wouldn’t want to keep your students waiting,” she said, clearing her throat as she stood up from the desk and shoved her hands into her pockets. She stared at Caitlyn for a few more seconds before she finally spoke.

“Have a good one, Violet,” Caitlyn grinned, leaving the classroom with a casual sway in her hips.
