Hogwarts is Real?
Summary
Just a fun project i wanted to try. The idea is to write diary entries on real days as though from the perspective of a hogwarts student.lets see how well i do and if i can make it interesting...if it goes well, i'll do more than one year. TO BE CLEAR: A year will take a year.I can't say i'll write every day, nor do i totally have a plot planned out. I do hope that i can keep up a creative concept.I will update tags etc as I go along.***July 7, 2024: For those reading Power of Three I *still* haven't forgotten it. My writing muse has been all but dead the past year; Lots of not happy chaos. I am trying to reignite my muse and get back on it. Don't give up on me yet!***

Lottie!
I’m so sorry I haven’t written! I wanted to, but for the past six and a half weeks I have literally been unable to!
I learned a very valuable lesson, though. If someone casts anything at you and it doesn’t appear to have any effect, well you still need to go to the nurse. Two older boys (I later learned that they were sixth years fighting over a girl) were having a duel in the hallway when I was on my way to potions class. One of them hit me with a blue spell. Since it didn’t seem to do anything and I was late for class, I didn’t stop to worry about it. Neither did Geoff. Both of us, being muggleborn, didn’t have a clue that it could’ve disastrous to ignore. We both know NOW. (Professor Longbottom really told us off. He was ever so calm and serious and that was scarier than if he’d yelled. Apparently, had the wrong magic mixed, I could have been permanently harmed or worse! Thankfully I wasn’t….)
Either way, in potions class we were working on a potion that’s supposed to make it so you can speak with an animal of your choosing for about an hour. (It was apparently created so that a witch or wizard could communicate with an animagus while they’re transformed.) the potion was made correctly-I got full marks! Professor Malloy said he was very impressed with my work and invited me to try the potion out with Amythest. I was thrilled!
Then I took my potion and blacked out. When I woke up , everything was fuzzy (apparently a side effect of magic gone wrong plus hitting my head on the stone floors) and Professor Prince was saying my name, calmly, while Professor Malfoy was panicking. I think I might have blinked, but I don’t know. Something I did though told Professor Prince I was awake and he told me not to worry, that I was safe and in the hospital wing and that everything would be fine. Then he snapped at Professor Malfoy that panicking wouldn’t help and to tell the nurse I was awake.
After several disorienting moments, I realised that I was being held. That’s when I discovered that I’d somehow shrunk! Everything was HUGE!!! I tried to ask what happened but all I could say what’s this weird growling sound, which of course scared me more.
Professor Prince quickly shushed me and told me to calm down and then he told me that he’d want to know what was going on, too. He summoned a mirror (or maybe he conjured it? I don’t know) and then held me up to it. I’d somehow been transfigured into a cat! A brownish, red, striped cat with big green-gold eyes!
Well after that startling revelation, I looked up at Professor Prince (he was carrying me) and made a pitiful meowing sound, begging to know what happened.
Long story short, after extensive testing, Professors Prince, Malfoy and Longbottom used my potion to communicate with me and eventually it was discovered that the stupid spell I got hit with messed with the properties of the potion. Geoff was summoned to help find the two boys and eventually they figured out what the boy who hit me had intended to cast, what he actually cast and what happened when I took the potion.
Then all of that information was taken to the nurse. She had to consult with Saint Mungos! Ultimately I was told that I had to wait for the effects to end on their own. Anything that might turn me back might also trap me permanently because of the miscast spell. They sent home a letter to my parents and then I was sent to my dorm, as a cat, with the instructions to attend all of my classes like normal. Special assignments would be given to me while I was still stuck and that my classmates would be given instructions to help me. I won’t go into how all of that worked because it was kinda boring, but my assignments tended to be essentially multiple choice quizzes after classes with a friend or two to help while the teachers gave the quizzes. It was all theory so now that I’m back to normal, I have a lot to do to catch up on the practical stuff.
As frustrating as it was to be stuck as a cat, it was also really fun. Everything looked so different as a cat! Some parts of the castle, like the moving staircases, were much scarier as a cat, but other parts were much better. I got to explore parts of the castle I never would have otherwise with Amythest. It was definitely fun to run around with her. (And the potion did work, I would communicate with her, but it wasn’t like speaking with you. It was more…ideas than words. I don’t know how to explain it to you.)
The most fun thing might have been when I got to try riding on a broom with Lyra. She plucked me up one day, out of the blue, and told me that I should take full advantage of being stuck as a cat and that we were going flying!
Flying on the broom when I had no control of it was frightening at first, but once I relaxed (she would never do anything to hurt me) it was a lot of fun!
Either way, I am sorry I didn’t write. I hope you forgive me.

Hello Mom and Dad!
I’m back to normal! Studying as a cat was kinda weird but mostly fun. I am just going to duplicate my letter to Lottie for you, though, because now I have a LOT of homework to catch up on!
Love you!
Ava
