Hogwarts is Real?
Summary
Just a fun project i wanted to try. The idea is to write diary entries on real days as though from the perspective of a hogwarts student.lets see how well i do and if i can make it interesting...if it goes well, i'll do more than one year. TO BE CLEAR: A year will take a year.I can't say i'll write every day, nor do i totally have a plot planned out. I do hope that i can keep up a creative concept.I will update tags etc as I go along.***July 7, 2024: For those reading Power of Three I *still* haven't forgotten it. My writing muse has been all but dead the past year; Lots of not happy chaos. I am trying to reignite my muse and get back on it. Don't give up on me yet!***

Dear Diary,

It’s been wonderful being home and celebrating Christmas with my family, but I am feeling a bit disconnected. It was somewhat depressing when my Great Aunt Myra asked about school and I couldn’t answer truthfully and instead had to tell stories that I could play off as muggle things or downright lie. It’s been hard enough in letters; in person is much more challenging.

Also, I learned a little about Yule just before boarding the Hogwarts Express to head home. I’m sort of wishing that I could have observed some of those traditions I’ve been learning about in class, but no one in my family would understand.

I did get a lovely new journal to write in from mom and dad, a pretty necklace from my grandmother, and some other very nice presents. I think I am most excited about the box of pranks (the non magical kind!) from my cousin. John is six and they’re his favorite things in the world. Aunt Laura was apologetic, thinking I would be upset, but I told them both that they were perfect. I can’t wait to take them to school to share with my friends who have only ever seen wizarding pranks. Aunt Laura was skeptical and warned me to stay out of trouble, but I think she was relieved that I wasn’t upset by the gifts.

I actually raided a shop in Diagon Alley to get gifts for my family. Don’t worry! I made sure nothing was actually magical! It just came from the magical world. I got mom a cookbook. She’s excited to try some of the recipes. Grandmother was easy as well, I got her a pretty necklace. (This one is actually the exception to the no. Magical rule, but she won’t know the difference. The pendant is actually imbued with protective magics, which means should anyone cast any dark magic at her while she wears it, she will be shielded from it, but I doubt anyone will ever attack her so she will never be able to tell it has magic on it.) most of my other gifts were similar- jewelry and books- but for my cousins John and his baby brother, Leroy, I got plushies. I gave Leroy a plush Crup. He thinks it’s just a puppy and I’m not telling him any different. I got John a plush Dragon. It’s a realistic representation of a common welsh green, going by a book I got myself, but he won’t know that. He named it “Greenie” and I think it suits!

Happy Christmas, diary! I’ll write again later. Lottie and I are supposed to be going to a movie tomorrow. I’m looking forward to seeing her. It’s sad to miss out on sharing classes with her now, but I suppose that is life. I’ve missed her, but that should make our time together that much better.
