1-Nov
Hi Lottie, Mom and Dad!
Sorry, I don’t have time to write two letters, but I wanted to tell you about the Halloween Feast!
The tables in the Great Hall were all pushed together (they’re normally in rows based on the dormitories) in a box. Everyone mingled together. There were bats and ghosts and candles everywhere! The food was the most exciting part, so many pumpkin dishes, apple dishes, and chocolate dishes! There was even a beef dish with a chocolate and apple topping!
A few kids wore up costumes. There was music as well. A professor set up a few games, including bobbing for apples, jumping over a broomstick, and pumpkin toss. Some kids also started up games of chess and marbles and a group of kids huddled in a corner telling scary stories about werewolves in the school!
I had a lot of fun last night and went to bed very early this morning. After not nearly enough sleep, I had classes. I’m so very tired, so I’m going to bid you good night. Besides, if I don’t turn off the lights soon, I’ll be in trouble. Write back soon!
Love, Ava
