Ivy observed the Husband and Wife in front of her as the elixir did its work. The couple’s eyes cleared and they looked very alert. The man looked at Ivy “Who are you? Where’s Neville?” Ivy smiled weakly “Welcome back, Jonathan and Phoebe Longbottom. You’ve been out for quite awhile. As to your son Neville, I think you should see for yourself.” Ivy stepped aside and watched as Neville and his grandmother had a tearful reunion with their loved ones. She smiled at Harry Potter and Hermione Granger who were there to support their friend, and left the room.
Ivy activated a C5 corridor and walked through to find a scene of chaos full of junior detectives. Ivy shook her head slightly and looked around the museum room. She immediately noticed something that the gumshoes were missing. A black envelope with a very familiar embossing on it. It was a clue from Carmen Sandiego. Ivy pocketed the clue and walked over to where her friend, and almost sister in law, Aileen, who was interviewing some museum guards. Ivy walked up behind Aileen and tapped her on the shoulder.
Aileen turned around and hugged Ivy “Ivy! What are you doing here? I thought you were retired?” Ivy smiled “I decided to drop in after I finished helping Sara with a special project.” Aileen smirked “Ivy. I know that whatever the project was it was all you.” Ivy smiled “You can’t prove it. The same goes for... other things.” Aileen giggled. She really loved Ivy and saw her as an older sister. Ivy grinned “Come on. I need your help with something.” Ivy grabbed Aileen and walked with her through a C5 corridor to her home inbetween North and South Carolina.
Aileen looked at Ivy “You found something back at the museum, didn’t you?” Ivy laid the clue in front of Aileen and went to fix a light lunch for the both of them. Ivy came back a few minutes later with a tray that held two large sandwiches and a pitcher of sweet tea. She set the tray down and looked at Aileen “Let’s enjoy our lunch and then go see what Carmen has planned for today.” Aileen smiled and began to eat her sandwich. Ivy ate her sandwich and enjoyed the company. She smiled as she saw Aileen jump up and activate the C5. Ivy I put the location and led Aileen through.
The duo emerged in the Minister’s office in the British Ministry of Magic. Ivy smiled at the man behind the desk “Hello, Cornelius. You remember Aileen?” The man identified as Cornelius smiled and hugged Ivy and Aileen. Cornelius looked thoughtful “Ivy, what are you and Aileen doing here? Has something happened with the gumshoes?” Ivy smiled “No. It’s just that Carmen is going to steal that large fountain in the atrium.” Cornelius groaned and then laughed “That’s fine. I thought it was something horrid like Death Eaters attacking.” Ivy smirked “I got rid of that little problem yesterday. The Death Eaters seem to scare quickly when they realize that their torture curse doesn’t work on me.”
Aileen looked at Cornelius “Yep. That’s our Ivy.” Cornelius laughed “We had best het down to the atrium. Shall we?” Ivy and Aileen followed Cornelius down to the atrium. The trio met a group of Ministry officials in the elevator, among the officials was a ugly woman in a pink outfit. When the elevator stopped at the atrium a woman followed the trio out of the elevator and the bodies left in said elevator. Ivy turned and regarded the woman with a smile “Amelia, I was hoping to run into you. The group of corpses in the elevator were all wanted by Queen Elizabeth for various heinous crimes. I was asked to.... deal with them. Now, it looks like Carmen got here, please excuse me.” Ivy walked over to Carmen and her henchmen Al Loy and Dara Riska “Need any help lifting that?” Carmen looked around to see Ivy calmly looking at the fountain “Well, Detective, I didn’t expect to see you here. Did you enjoy unraveling the clue?”
Aileen, Cornelius, and Amelia walked over and watched Ivy and Carmen casually chat. Amelia looked at Cornelius “Minister, I thought you said that Ivy chases Carmen Sandiego around the world. They look to be enjoying a pleasent conversation.” The trio were joined by Al and Dara. Al smiled “Ivy used to chase Carmen. She retired several years ago and started up a new Junior Detective agency that she put her younger brother, Zach, in charge of. All of the Junior Detectives followed Ivy when she left ACME. Ivy retired due to health issues. She currently owns the Beauxbatons Academy and Resort in the South of France.”
Dara smirked “That girl was responsible for stopping the Boss on a lot of cases. After a while, most of us that worked for Carmen came to see Ivy as a sort of family member. Once case, Ivy didn’t show up, that threw everything out the window. We later found out that Ivy suffered a heart attack. That’s what retired her. Ivy is enjoying her life nowadays. She sometimes visits headquarters just to talk or even help plan a heist. I think that if ACME had put Ivy on planning instead of chasing us all the time, that agency might still be around.” All of a sudden, a screen materialized with a pinkish background and a cartoonish head in the center of it. Aileen smiled “Hi, Chief! We figured out what Carmen’s up to.”
The Chief looked at Carmen and Ivy who were currently walking over. Carmen smirked “Hello, Chief. I hope you haven’t forgotten our weekly Chess Match.” The Chief smiled “I haven’t forgotten. What’s with trying to steal this fountain?” Carmen smiled “I wanted to challenge the new gumshoes and see if they could offer a challenge. I didn’t count on Ivy and Aileen finding my clue. I wonder what the gumshoes are doing right now.” The Chief groaned and looked tired, as much as a computer could, that is “Zach found the clue at his and Ivy’s Carolina home. He’s on his way over. As for the new gumshoes, they lost interest and, uh, I accidentally caught Tommy and Jane in the altogether in a hotel room.” Ivy could be heard banging her head against a hard surface ranting about teenagers and hormones. Aileen went to grab Ivy. Carmen shook her head. Al and Dara looked pale.
Zach C5’ed into this scene. He looked as white as a ghost. Ivy saw her brother and ran from her and Aileen’s position. She looked concerned “Are you alright, Zach? What happened?” Zach hugged Ivy and kissed Aileen. He told the group a bit more than what the Chief had told them. Ivy looked sick “I think that we need to fire those two. I left a clue with the same message as Carmen’s in the same spot. What about the other eight Junior Detectives?” Zach grinned “They are on their way. They found your copy of Carmen’s clue.”
Carmen smiled as she saw a blue portal materialize “It’s been fun chatting with my three favourite detectives again, but, I’ve overstayed my welcome. Until next crime.” As Carmen, Al, and Dara left through their own C5 corridor, Zach reached in his pocket and felt something that wasn’t there before. Zach took it out to find a small box. He opened it to find a ring along with a small note in Carmen’s handwriting. The note explained the purpose of the ring. Zach closed the box and put it in his pocket. He looked over at Aileen, who was currently talking to the newly arrived gumshoes. Ivy looked at her brother and winked.
