Chapter 5
Outside the sky was clear and the summer sun shone down on the three boys as they zig-zagged through the air. The light breeze running caresses over the boys faces as they twisted in the air.
Eventually Sirius dragged his broom back inside to shower before Effie had an episode from the state of his white shirt, leaving James and Regulus outside, alone.
Regulus laid on the grass and gazed at his boyfriend who was showing off in the air above him. As James spun lazily in the air while performing the perfected move that Reggie had taught him the term prior. The sun bounced over his cheekbones and the gentle wind swept his hair in such a way that Regulus felt a smile creep onto his face in admiration.
“How was that?” James asked as he landed and threw himself on the ground next to Regulus.
“A lot better” he replied through a small grin.
James reached a hand to Reggie’s head, brushing it through the tangled curls on his forehead and lent his head forward to press his mouth against the younger boy’s. Regulus responded instantly, hand flying to curl into James’ unruly locks. No matter how many times they have kissed both boys felt as if it were there first time experiencing heaven, despite their actual first kiss being an awkward mess of teeth and giggles.
Breaking apart, their foreheads rest against each other as they catch their breaths.
“We should go inside”
“Oh yeah? And who’s room, mine or your- OW” James was cut off as Regulus brought his hand to lightly smack his arm.
“Neither you undignified rabbit! I mean we can clearly be seen from every window on this side of the house, and my brothers room is on this side of the house”
“Rabbit?!”
“James-“
“Ok ok” James laughed “Come on then”
He jumped up and brushed the grass off his trousers before reaching a hand out and hauling Reggie to his feet. The two boys walked back to the house, broom in hand, unaware of the eyes peering out at them through the window of the downstairs living room.
