“Can we please watch something that has a happy ending this time? As much as I enjoy horror, I’ve had enough of seeing blood.” Ninel says, quietly sighing as she dumps the large pile of blankets and pillows onto the couch, quickly arranging them to her liking as she lies down on the sofa, propping her head up with a pillow and wrapping herself up in a heavy, forest green comforter.
“You? Not wanting to watch horror, who are you and what have you done to my girlfriend?” Khioniya chuckles, her amused voice ringing out from the kitchen. Ninel hears the closing of the microwave door and begins to smell the freshly buttered popcorn as it wafts into the living room.
“Maybe I want to watch some cheesy romance or a raunchy comedy once in a while, it’s not a crime to have diverse tastes, y’know?” Ninel grumbles in fake annoyance, but upon seeing Khioniya walk into the living room, her mood instantly changes as she shoots Khioniya a look of adoration.
As Khioniya sets down the tray of food on the coffee table in exchange for the remote, she moves over to the couch to give Ninel a chaste kiss on the forehead. Her hand resting on her right cheek, fingers caressing the high slopes of her cheekbones before sitting down on the couch.
While getting under the blanket, she pulls Ninel flush against her side and passes her the controller. “Your choice tonight, Nini, just, please don’t pick anything too tacky like last time.” Khioniya yawns, resting her head on Ninel’s shoulder as she watches her scroll past the mystery section before ultimately clicking on one Ninel finds acceptable.
When the movie starts to play, Ninel throws the remote off to the side and lays her head upon Khioniya’s, instantly inhaling the signature scent of her sandalwood and frankincense shampoo before directing her attention back to the television screen.
Just when the movie reaches the mid-way point, Ninel begins to hear soft snores, she glances down at Khioniya’s face to see her peaceful and relaxed face as she rests. A small, adoring smile graces Ninel’s lips as she kisses Khioniya’s hair, snuggling deeper into the blonde curls before closing her eyes as sleep takes hold of her.
