Alone alone with my Godsons for company....Wait Godsons?

Have you ever wished that you had never gotten up in the morning?

Does that mean that he wished he had stayed in bed or if he wishes he had never woken up in the first place? Even he doesn't know.

To be honest, he doesn't care. He has had a shitty day and it just kept getting worse.

When he woke up this morning, the marauders and Lily and baby Harry were all a family, as happy as they could be in a hopeless war.

At least he thought so anyway.

It all started when he learned the rat had betrayed them all.

We trusted him and he betrayed us.

Then came the realisation that they were dead. James was dead. His brother. was. dead.

Dead.

It was just a word and yet... it made all the difference in the world.

He will never forget what it felt like when he saw James' body lying there lifelessly.

Of course, seeing Lily hurt a lot, she was his friend and was practically his sister-in-law but this was a different kind of hurt.

He had lost another brother. Only this time, he had seen the body.

The worse feeling of all was when he went to check the cot.

He had lost Harry. James and Lilly's son. His Godson.

Gone.

He let his grief and guilt power his emotions and he went after the traitor in a hate-fuelled rage.

He wanted to attack the rat. To murder him just like he had to James and Lily.

He didn't get that chance.

He settled for killing the one who took it away from him.

He demanded they revealed themselves because they were obviously using a notice-me-not charm or something similar. He did not expect the man to take off an invisibility cloak...or to be holding a fucking child!

He stared at the child closely and realised that it was Harry.

If he was angry before he was downright furious now. How dare he take his Godson.

He knew that there wasn't much that he could do unless he wanted to hurt Harry (which he did not) so he disarmed him.

The man then had the audacity to give Sirius orders as if he had any right.

...He might have had a point about the obliviating the muggles though. He couldn't exactly raise Harry if he broke the statute of secrecy. He couldn't risk getting sent to Azkaban despite how unlikely it was.

He reluctantly agreed with the unknown man and waited for him to cast the spells that would make the conversation silent to others. Despite how much he disliked him, the man clearly had some common sense and intelligence.

"My name is Harry James Potter and-"

Nevermind.

That was impossible. He should know it was impossible. How does the bastard even know Harry's full name? It might not be that hard to guess but it's definitely not common knowledge.

"-and I am apparently a time traveller".

...

Sirius was speechless. What do you even say to that? It can't be true. Time turners are real. He knew that. It was still impossible.

(He ignored that small part of him that believed in his future Godson.)

"Please Padfoot," he practically begged. He knew. How did he know? The marauders were a secret. Even though they were betrayed by their now ex-member, it should still be a secret.

"This is baby me. Once I got sent back, I had to come back for him. This night went very differently in my time. I just wanted to protect myself, you, and Moony."

He definitely knew. Merlin. He had forgotten about Moony. Did he know? He wishes Moony were here now. What would Moony do? What should Sirius do?

"Is it so bad that I wanted at least one version of me to get a normal childhood?!"

...Is it bad that he can relate to the potential imposter?

"Is it so bad that I wanted little Harry to grow up knowing his Godfather?! Is it?!"

Sirius was speechless. Merlin. That was a lot. He had so many questions. How does he know about Padfoot and Moony? How does he know that Sirius is Harry Potter's Godfather? The man seemed so angry and so hurt that Sirius was almost convinced.

It was then that Sirius had a great idea.

"You're coming with me."
