Missing Case
Sipping his coffee as early morning rays of sun peaked through the windows, Lestrade replied, “Sherlock, if I had a case, I’d call you.”
It is beyond the comprehension of Lestrade’s mind why Sherlock chooses to be awake this early in the morning. But then again, that’s not really his division.
As Lestrade looked up, he spotted in the corner of his eyes a man in a black cloak running towards him.
The heck—
The man sputtered out, “Hi, um, Scotland Yard?”
“Erm, yes?”
“I have a missing case to report.”
Lestrade replied, “How long have they been missing?”
“Three days.”
Lestrade raised his eyebrows. Three days? After 24 hours people normally come running.
“Why are you dressed like that?” came a voice from behind.
Oh, yeah. Forgot Sherlock was still there.
“That’s unimportant. Who are you?”
“Sherlock Holmes, at your service.”
Lestrade smirked as the man’s face scrunched in confusion. At least not everyone knew who he was.
“Um, right, yeah. So who is Sherlock Holmes?” continued the man in black.
Sherlock looked like he was ready to blow.
“I’m a detective. Who are you looking for?”
“My boyfriend. Jun,” replied the mysterious stranger.
Sherlock leaned forward and steepled his fingers.
He said, “Your boyfriend. When did you last see him?”
Pursing his lips slightly, Jake Galdur snipped, “Before he went off to work.”
Sherlock replied, “Right. And where did he work?”
Jake ran a hand through his hair.
“I don’t really know,” he said.
“You don’t know?”
Sherlock liked figuring out cases. But figuring out who was asking was too much work.
“And who are you?”
A good runner, apparently.
Heavy footsteps were heard as Sherlock ran after him. Left, right, straight down a alley, now to the right again…
But there was no one there.
